Fair Warning:  I decided to take the week off from modding for a number of reasons, so that's why I've had a decent amount of time to play.  I'll have much less time this week due to x, y, z.

I've got Steam overlay up because it's easier than relying on my memory and the sequence of events.  

 

Part of the thing that bothers me about the whole insult thing is that later on (don't recall exactly how later on) they can just stare and then kiss you.  If you are going to call me a bitch, I do not want your tongue down my throat.  /just sayin'

 

Personally, I think that "Argue" should be renamed "We need to talk."  I know probably 20 people will read that and cringe, but I've said that in numerous instances that were not break-ups.

 

You have a "Wodka" typo for after you select to give an NPC vodka.

 

Affection - Turn Off > Staring - Flirt - Flirt Back > Staring - Insult Female

 

Nuka Cola is on the "Hair of the dog" list.  I know that someone wanted the option of non-alcoholic drinks.  Don't know if this is intentional or not.

 

Changed Argue to We Need To Talk (funny this is what I originally named it, but it seemed sort of femmy).  Wodka is correct according to the computer in my nucular wessel.

I know why I was worried about missing the date.  It's cause the date reminder is now "Date Tonight."  So I suppose that it really means "a date at night at some point in time."

 

Changed Date Tonight to Date Later.

 

 

Yeah, reloaded clean save, tried wooing sunny again, still struggling. For some reason, Trudy keeps insulting me even if I haven't ever spoken to her and I am wearing something marked as pretty/sexy/classy.

 

Sunny keeps alternating between flirting/affectionate asking for dates/accepting dates but then tease/turn off with fool around. 

 

There should be no insults before you've spoken.  I suspect the clean save isn't clean.  Insults only happen when an NPC has NX vars set to a positive.  This means that the NX vars have not been cleared.  That being said, I'm going to put some console spam in for this so you can see when it happens (when an NPC receives a nag action).

Ok added console spam to let you know when and why complaints are being launched.  On my end in testing, I rarely get complaints.  Unless... I come on too strong.  Then I get tons of them.

 

The relationship begins on level terms.  Which means the NPC doesn't already have disposition to you built up.  Which makes it very easy in the beginning of the relationship to go into the negative.  Here's what I do.

 

- Any time you get a positive.  Back off.  Go do something else.  Don't push it.

- Get to know them over time.  They will all have their own quirks.  Through experience interacting with them, you'll get a feel for what not to say.

- Learn to read the atmosphere.  The look messages, the comments they make.  These things give you clues as to what's going on in their head.

 

ie. NPC looks at my tits (I know he'll probably go for Oral).

 

He then says 'Favorite Outfit' (I now know he likes my outfit).  I make an attempt to ask for a date immediately, knowing that it's a good time to do so because I've established (fav outfit) he has an interest in me.  Why immediately?  Because he won't be thinking about your outfit forever (an instance/impression).

Can you explain why greater attractiveness means less likely a chance of commitment?  Is that just because the majority of the population is just going to want to sleep with you, or is it a perception of the PC being high maintenance or untrustworthy since the PC will have plenty of opportunities to cheat on them since the majority of the population wants to sleep with the PC?

 

EDIT:  I like setting my charisma to 10, and I think that Eval/Check Me Out are fun, but it sounds like they're working against me in this mod.

You're right this isn't like other mods where charisma is the focus.  Nobody loves like ugly people do.  I know that first hand lol.  I myself have been testing with both  ie. I set my cha to about 7 then alter it by setting different things.  Setting something to dirty takes you down a notch so you can test like you're ugly.

 

Greater attractiveness DOES NOT equate to less likely to commit.  The perception of untrustworthiness DOES.  Sometimes the two overlap, but they aren't the same I promise.  The best way to commit is this...

 

- Build up a rapport first.  That way you can disagree with them and they won't go into the negative disposition.  If you do it right off the bat, first impressions are everything so they say.

 

- Once you've established a rapport, argue with them.  Disagree on purpose if you have to.  Leave.  Do something else.  Repair the relationship.  Build it up again.  Rinse/repeat.  The idea is that bouncing back from turmoil in your relationship strengthens it.

 

- Once you've done that a couple of times (sometimes it only takes once), then proceed with the relationship forward and try not to argue anymore (unless you need to get rid of a negative preemptively).

 

- Check their commitment stat regularly.  Some NPCs (men in general) will be hard to commit no matter what you do.  Some will be nearly impossible to commit. ie. they're just not that into you sweetheart. lol

 

It plays into the idea of fair weather friends.  All that being said, men will be men and it really doesn't matter what you wear most of the time. As long as you own a vagina. lol

 

EDIT: Other tips.  Play it straight.  Don't try to get a commitment using slutty clothes and sex.  Focus just on them and they should commit.

I'm confused.  Uninstall Mod > Save game > Install New Version of Mod = Clean Save, yes?  I've done that with the last two versions, and I think that data is still being carried over.

 

Isn't part of NX's thing that NX vars are saved in your save file even after the mod is gone, or am I remembering that incorrectly?

Well it's partly my fault for not putting in more sanitation.  Try making sure you equip the black book or are running before you approach.  Then use the reset NPC in the Conn interface.  That will definitely clear them of all NX data.  Then you won't have to start fresh.

 

But you have to make sure the system isn't running them through when you approach.  That's why you equip the book first.  Equipping it after they've noticed you, and then resetting may leave some vars behind.

Heh.  The book was auto-equipped, but he hit on me before it actually equipped (or that I got the message that it was equipped).  I did have it go from Lover to Casual when I was playing, but that might be due to not resetting him via the book and having some script eventually go "hey...wait a minute...."

Yeah load up, equip the book, then let him get it all out of his system.  Then hit reset.  That should do it.

 

EDIT: Don't forget to check the console.  Negative tracking spam is still in.

I've tried to address the 'NPC leaves on eat during date', and 'Walk With Me'  package issues in this new one.  Let me know if it works any better.  Tested on generics and they sat down as they should.  Not sure how this will work for companions.

Shouldn't need to.  I didn't.

 

EDIT: If It doesn't work with companions let me know and I'll filter out companions and give them the old eat package which we know works (don't we?).

Is Tracker a done deal and you're just working out the layer part, or is Tracker just as WIP?

 

Every bit of it is WIP right now.  As far as I'm concerned, it's not even an infant yet, it's prenatal (the tracker that is).  The layer is the proving ground for functions to add to the tracker currently.  The majority of what's in the layer right now will probably be moved to the tracker at some point, leaving mainly dialog and mod customizations.

 

Anything that can be standardized as a repetitive function, plus any tracking data it can share with other mods.  I also intend to write in some location tracking that other mods can use.  Eventually it will be an esm.

 

I'm sort of building a road in order to design a vehicle that will travel upon it. lol  I figure the only way to ensure that the resource you're creating gets used is to use it yourself first.

In reply to an earlier comment about you not being sure if I was on a clean save, I was. Sunny is just causing me grief.

 

I'm going to see if I can get someone else to try it with. It's frustrating because playing as a woman worked pretty damn well, but with her she just consistently refuses to advance the relationship.

 

And here I was thinking you said playing as men would be easier!  :P

Yeah I've gotten zero feedback on males and haven't really tested them since the prototype.  It's not that the males are more difficult so much.  The difficulty is dependent upon your target.  So if your targets are male, then it will be easier to have sex, and harder to establish a commitment.  If your targets are females, the opposite is true.

 

ie. Try playing a bi/gay male, targeting other males, and it should be as easy as playing a female.

 

EDIT:  I should add that this is a generality.  Some males will be eager to commit, and some females will be sex fiends.  So there are exceptions to the rule.

In this new one I've added a working confrontation system (supposedly).  Now you must be careful what you do around multiple lovers.

 

- Some lovers will be the jealous type, others won't (chance based on jealousy attribute).

- Lovers can drive other lovers away (currently, they compare commitment levels and experience levels to determine this).

-  The 'Be Nice' option in the 'We Need To Talk' dialog now actually does something (if successful, makes them get along with other lovers for a while).

Are you checking the console (unrelated just curious)?

 

I specifically adjusted that.  If they just flirted with you (less than 2 min ago), and you hit them back with a totally new flirt of your own, you shouldn't get a turn off.  Looking into it.

Ok try it now.  I see what happened.

 

From now on you'll not receive a turn off if they are in the state you're appealing to.  However, the thing to remember is that when you get a mutual, that's it.  You just spent their state and will have to wait until they are in that state again later.

 

- So... PC Starts Flirt, NPC Returns Mutual = end of Flirt state until flirtatious gets set again during a future cycle.

- BUT NOT, NPC Starts Flirt, PC Returns Flirt Back, NPC Returns Mutual.  That does not end the flirt state.

 

EDIT: Another hint.  Certain dialog during Walk With Me/Stay A While will put them into the affectionate/flirtatious state for a bonus run.
