T!:  Played a bit yesterday and got Turn Off a few times.  Sometimes, it disappeared as quickly as it usually does.  Other times, the Rejected token stayed around much longer than I expected (there was a date scheduled, so I checked the tokens cause I didn't want to get doubly rejected by "missing" our date).

 

Playing using DRL v26a.

This is what I found:

 

- Got stalkers this time, which was interesting because sometimes I could "submit" and completely put them off. I particularly liked "Don't fight it!" - "OK" - "Fuck you!" and walks away lol. Also, at one point I must have gotten two stalkers, because when I didn't resist, I ended up in a threesome with another guy. Is this intended?

 

- Also with stalkers, in the same way that if you have sex with someone the dialogue changes to "Lovers" - do you think maybe there should be an option for Stalkers? Maybe a confrontation option, or even a sort of stockholm syndrome/no self respect type dialogue tree much like the others, but obviously changed to reflect the fact he either tried to rape you and you seduced him, or that he actually does rape you if you reject/fight him off.

 

Stalkers will be expanded as I move forward.  At some point they may even split off into different types.  Currently, if you submit, and then have sex, they will become lovers (including the third).  Yes the threesome was intended but it was broken.  It should work properly in this latest one.  The stalkers packages and mechs have been overhauled as well.

 

There is a confrontation option when they attempt forcing themselves upon you.  It's currently labeled 'Fight'. lol

 

I doubt I'll track things that way.  I figure if you're not getting along already, there's no need to add a bunch of special options to more or less dislike them further.  Seems redundant.  Especially when you're always free to pull out a blaster and vaporize them (which is what I do regularly).

 

Though generally I consider Stalkers so far, no more than a nuisance.  They're more or less 'wanna be' rapists, but are just too incompetent to succeed consistently.  Usually if you stand your ground they cave in, like most bullies.

 

Later I'm going to add another layer to them called 'Rapist' and turn up the volume.  Also I plan to introduce several boogie men/women (one of a kind Serial Crime NPCs).

 

 

 

- I also noticed putting on the "PG Soldier outfit" - SODRL kept telling me I looked like a prostitute even though it wasn't flagged as such in SCE.

 

 

Not sure what that's about.  Where can I get the outfit to test it?

 

 

If you have the 'Known Whore' Perk you'll look like a prostitute no matter what you have on (shhh).

 

 

 

 

- The walk with me function doesn't really work as it should, I don't think. NPCs often keep walking in circles, going nowhere, before saying "finished" and it doesn't really lead up to anything. Maybe for the major locations, like GS, Primm (after liberation), Freeside, Strip, etc - there should be "privacy" markers they are set to go towards if they pick that option?

 

 

I've tweaked these in the latest copy.  Although, I think the problem is the wording.  Now if you're indoors they will ask 'Stay For A While', instead of 'Walk With Me'.  I could probably change the wording to hang out with me or something.

 

Other than that, the walk with me is a sort of placeholder.  It's only partially realized and is slated to be tied into other things (NPCs fighting over you mainly).  So currently, just think of it as a hang out that could move to another location.

 

 

 

- I also noticed the start of some sex scenes were a bit confusind and duplicated. For example, an NPC would say "Oral Sex" to me then say "Open Wide" before a new set of options for "Oral/Vaginal\Anal" opened up for me. The same again with Solo Sex (what even is that? Masturbation?) and then I still get options for Bottom - Oral/Vaginal/Anal.

 

The idea is:

- they tell you what they want.

- then you agree by matching what they want.

- or choosing something different that you want.

 

 

 

- At one point, after having slept with 2 different men, I got approached with a "I hear you're a whore" rumour. On confessing to it, the perk got removed. Not sure what that was about.

 

- And speaking of rumours, I managed to get the "Rumour - cheat" and "Adultery/Infidelity" rumours, even though I wasn't in a committed relationship with anyone. I got the "Bigamy" one twice, even though I wasn't married.

 

- Oh, how does the "Known whore" rumour/perk work? I "got" it, only it never really worked for me. I once said "Pay me" and he said "OK How Much?" only then it just went back to the foreplay menu and I didn't get anything. 

 

The perk was broken.  Should be fixed now.  Rumors are just rumors, they are not necessarily attached with reality.

 

Perks so far:

Known Slut/Lecher = Sticky Looks 'Easy'.

Known Whore = Sticky Looks 'Prostitute'. (required for prostitution later).

They can be removed by commitment (settling down).

 

Known Two Timer

Known Adulter/Bigamist

Gives the negatives that they suggest to the obvious targets.  More in store for these later as I flesh out love triangles.

 

 

 

- Speaking of foreplay, what does "melt" do?   I think maybe some of those foreplay options can be tighened up a bit. Is it just me, or are they gender neutral? I think some more appropriate gender neutral options could have been things like "Moan lightly in ear" or "Whisper naughty things", "Caress body", "Caress face", "Play with bum" *, "Tease mouth with finger", etc. These wouldn't need to act as replacers but could go along what you have.

 

* - I know there is a "play with ass" option, but this would literally be the "hole" and not the buttocks. I can't think of any real sexy way of saying "asshole", so if anyone can come up with anything, please insert here. Pun intended 

 

- What does the PC choosing fool around the and NPC saying "tease" means? That they are teasing you that they will fool around, but won't right now? That's what I gather, but I could be wrong.

 

 

They are dialog placeholders full of colloquialisms.  Look up Melt in a sexual context.  If you have a better word feel free to toss it at me.  The things you're describing ARE highly appropriate, if/when this mod includes dialog. lol

 

Right now I must have broad terms to identify things to build the system, without being bogged down by hundreds of long winded detailed variations.  There is no play with ass option?  If I grab someones ass, it doesn't include the asshole. rofl 

 

Tease can go both ways.  They can be calling you a tease, or they could be playing hard to get.

 

 

 

- The date/follow package works, but on starting date here, the NPC inevitably walks back to where he originally started. This makes it quite difficult to have a date at a bar or anywhere else for that matter, lol.

 

- Also, stalkers have the opposite behaviour. If you accept and give in to their demands and have sex, they will stay put in place afterwards. This also happens if you "put them off" by doing something they don't want you to do, like not resisting.

 

Later I'll refine this, but everything I've tried to solve it short of incremental scripting every action has not worked.  For now the best I can do is set the date to Teammate.  If I don't do that, and they have no idles near. they'll go to eat at their own idles.

 

The stalkers I'm pretty sure are out of my control.  Although, on my end they go right back to sandboxing.  Might be a timing issue.

 

 

 

- Oh, I also noticed that in the foreplay menu, the "Start Sex" option was appearing more than once, sometimes up to 3 times. Why is that? Is there any difference between them?

 

- At one point, I was in a sexual relationship with two men, and they both approached me with "Kiss lips" and "Fondle vagina". Both sought privacy, so I took them both to a house. Is this mean to happen? When I got there, I thought it would be like the stalkers, where I ended up sleeping with both simultaneously, but this didn't happen. Can we make that an option? 

 

That dialog has been changed, but yes, those are intended to be in the menu.  Think of them as bar lemon cherry or bar lemon bar. lol  Give In is a good choice when the other choices are not something you'd think they'll like.  It let's them do whatever they want with you.

 

No that probably shouldn't have happened.  Love Triangles needs a lot of work still.

 

 

- Lastly, I couldn't get "real" prostitution to work. I put on a dress, marked it as a prostitute, had a base appeal of 23 (with some boots, pearls and other things) and got people "interested", but no prostitution dialogue. The last time I tried this was when we had that lengthy discussion about prices and so forth a few months ago, so I don't know how its supposed to work now? This was in freeside at around 8pm. Then went to Atomic Wrangler, and same thing. A few people interested, but the same kind of "interest" that is the default approach for characters.

 

Anyway, some amazing progress! I really enjoyed playing it, especially now that it seems to be working for me. I'm going to try a seriously committed romantic relationship type next and see how that works.

 

 

Yeah prostitution isn't in yet, but it's getting there.  I got the entry level squared away.  I just need to flesh out the dialog and expand tracking.

 

Glad you're having fun.  It might be best to focus on romance until I can expand on the novelties.  That's where I need the most testing now anyway.  I have yet to establish a commitment.

No worries.  You can't 'miss' a date.  They'll keep it until you use it.  Date is no longer an appointment (we're back to dialog again), it's a suggestion.  ie. Let's get together sometime.  As opposed to, let's meet at this hour.

That's what I was thinking that it was (or else maybe an indication of submission sort of?), but I couldn't quite articulate it.  Kinda like when someone really likes tongue in/around ear and they stop doing anything to you because they're enjoying themselves too much.

 

I think I'm inclined to agree that perhaps it should be "Grab ass" and "Finger ass."  Solves the "Do what to ass?" problem with unsexy terms and gets the point across.  If you are not fingering the anus, you are poking the buttocks, and that is not sexy. 

 

Also: THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR CLARIFYING PREFERENCES!  I too thought that they had to add to 100 as opposed to being how often you want to see something.

 

And I'm totally not glad (think:  rubbing it in your face, but with a phrase that's much less mean) that T! is doing the romance part first on this version since he focused on prostitution first last time (from my perception anyway ; )  ).

Rejection should only last a cycle.  If it's taking too long, leave, give them some space, come back in five min.  Cycles can vary slightly depending upon how many actors are around and what they need done.

 

Not Tonight was almost 'Washing My Hair' lol  It's just a rejection.  There is no specific dialog that will indicate that the rejection is final, if there were, you wouldn't have to be persistent.  And the daily thing just means they may say no up to 3 times before saying yes in a day.

They should cycle on their own regardless.  Sometimes it does take a while though.  Sometimes it's right away.  Probably due to when you began the cycle.  So if you're near the end it seems fast, if you're right at the beginning it seems long.

And that probably came across as unduly harsh so I apologize  , but it just doesn't make any sense to me.  Flirt.  Affection.  One fool around suggestion that was countered with tease.  My clothing is classified as pretty, sexy, or classy (with the exception of a dress that I marked as short skirt...is that it?  Insult for being "indecent?").  I just don't understand why I'm being insulted.

I do like the idea of introducing more aggressive rapists. To be honest, I pretty much seduced the last one, which I think makes for a really interesting and compelling game mechanic. I tried dating him, he refused, but kept looking at my ass. So I go and put something really pretty and that emphasises my ass. I go, walk in front of him a little bit, show him what he's missing, hit on one of his friends, and walk off. It starts to rain and thunder, and five minutes later - voila! he is following me down a dusty road. Comes up and grabs my ass. Being the hopeless romantic I am, I give in, we go home, and I have my way with him. Poor sucker didn't even know he was played lol.

 

So yes, I don't think that could be classed as rape, even if it was damn stalkerish of him, and he'd be in trouble if it wasn't my plan all along. Fun times.

@ melt - I thought this was what it meant, but I find it funny that I can "melt" and he can reject me lol. As for the sex being triplicated, when, I give in when I feel in the mood, but I can't distinguish between the other options because they all say the same thing, so I can't make a decision if its something I'd like or not. Also, in regards to my suggestion about new options (I also like nyaalich's example of play with ass/finger ass) - that could be a way to seduce/show your preference to the type of sex you want or want him/her to have with you? So say, if I'm a guy and I play with ass, and she reciprocates, that could increase the chances she'll accept anal if I suggest it? Or, if I run my finger down her lip and she rejects that, it could mean if I ask for oral, I'll likely be rejected, that sort of thing?

 

Right now, I think one key component we're missing is feedback, in the sense there's a lot of guesswork as to what they'll accept not, with only immediate yes/no answers. For example, if we get to the sex options and I say vaginal and he says no, there is no option to ask why, or even go back, just seduce/coerce and forget all about it. But with some feedback before hand, it would be easier to know he doesn't want vaginal. Just an idea, but one I feel will add a little more depth to the interactions.

 

Thanks for clarifying the prostituion, I wasn't sure what had happened since last time.

 

Oh, and yes, it was a long post, but only because I spent all of yesterday playing lol!

Playing as a male is proving far more challenging. Trying to get with Sunny, but after god knows how many mutual flirts/affections and 5 dates later, fool around leads to tease > tease > turn off every time.

I think I screwed my Sunny up. When I started talking to her, I also had a *FRIENDLY* chat with Trudy. Small talk, small talk, she flirted, I rejected, small talk. Then I went back to talk to Sunny, and she interrupted by insulting me. I guess Sunny must have thought I was double crossing her or something. I hadn't even started flirting with her yet! Seems a bit harsh...

I've got Steam overlay up because it's easier than relying on my memory and the sequence of events.  

 

Part of the thing that bothers me about the whole insult thing is that later on (don't recall exactly how later on) they can just stare and then kiss you.  If you are going to call me a bitch, I do not want your tongue down my throat.  /just sayin'

 

Personally, I think that "Argue" should be renamed "We need to talk."  I know probably 20 people will read that and cringe, but I've said that in numerous instances that were not break-ups.

 

You have a "Wodka" typo for after you select to give an NPC vodka.

Yeah, reloaded clean save, tried wooing sunny again, still struggling. For some reason, Trudy keeps insulting me even if I haven't ever spoken to her and I am wearing something marked as pretty/sexy/classy.

 

Sunny keeps alternating between flirting/affectionate asking for dates/accepting dates but then tease/turn off with fool around. 

 

I'm giving up on her and going back to playing as a chick...

This should not be happening.  Casual to Lover yes.  Lover to Casual without some kind of interaction, except in one special case (which I forget atm), no.  Looking into it.  Suspect a clean save may be needed there.
