Updated the OP.  Pimps are in.  Completely untested.

Getting A Pimp:
- almost anyone that can have a relationship can be one.
- cannot already be in a commitment.
- cannot be good aligned.

- cannot be a patron.

- must be in a relationship.
- PC must be fairly 'loose' to activate them.

- helps if they have low inhibitions.

- must be dom.

@nyaallich: Trust me.  When we're ready for dialogue you'll be hard pressed to come up with enough.  The NPC can't get any STDs is the main reason they don't care right now.  I'll relax the Male NPCs though.

Posted

Somewhat ironic:  I love writing dialogue.  I hate working through dialogue in the GECK.  Probably because of having to scroll through 100+ anims to get a fitting one.

No need to relax un/protected sex.  This is coming from my own perceptions, which may or may not be in line with what people actually do.

No, males were never supposed to care about protection as much as females.  You just reminded me is all.

EDIT: Beer.  That is all.

EDIT EDIT: More on pimps...

- if you accept an offer to become someones whore, they automysticly begin a 1st level commitment.

- if you have a pimp, being hired by a gang will NOT clear other gang contracts (you can work for all the gangs at once).

- negotiation has now become more difficult without a pimp (watch your back solo).

- pimps with a high level will make you more profit.

- pimps with a high barter skill will cost you less.

- you can only have one pimp at a time.  If you agree to a new one, you'll loose the old one (as a pimp, not the commitment).

- you can outgrow your pimp (via whore leveling).

- pimps don't get jealous unless you piss them off.

- having a pimp can guarantee you'll be paid if they're experienced enough.

Updated.  Seems I broke a ton of stuff with the last one.  This new one should get it back on track.

Updated the OP.  Re-wrote a bunch of scripts.  Inhibitions are now in full effect, and all the mechanics are in place.  There's only one problem...

Currently there is no method implemented to break down inhibitions of 'incompatible' NPCs.  You can however, currently break down the inhibitions of compatibles, which gains you nothing atm really (requires profiles for you to get something out of it).  I'm working on adding a way though.  Shouldn't be long.

EDIT: OK now it's in.  I could use some feedback, it's probably more difficult now.

EDIT EDIT: Fixed a bunch of stuff.  Still tweaking it.

With this lastest version I cant get the 'start a relationship' option.

Also, theres no status when I open the console.

Are you getting pick up dialogue when you talk to an NPC?  The console spam notice no longer repeats after they've formed an opinion of you.

Male/Female PC?  Male/Female NPC?

@BoondockSaint:  Do a clean save and then activate the newest.  Every time T cleans out the update log, that means that it's clean save time.

_-*The More You Know!

@T!:  While I've actually memorized the number after your name, I prefer it as T! (T factorial) because 1) it sounds cooler and 2) the number doesn't mean anything to me otherwise.

I screwed up my companion, but I've almost got her combat sorted out again.  Once I do, I can use her in-game for a longer amount of time instead of going back and forth between the game and the GECK every 5 minutes.  : P  If you have a preference on M or F PC vs. M or F NPC, that is.

Posted

I was just asking Boon which combination he was having problems with.  No preference really.  I'll probably switch back over to male PC here soon and start giving it the once over.  I've roughly tested female PC and was starting to actually have fun with it.  Things are starting to work closer to the original intentions.

It should be a bit more difficult now, and more of a game.  A lot of things were broken so that you could pose up the relationship quite easily.  I'm sorry if anyone got used to that, but that was never the way it was supposed to be. lol  Now you have to earn your pudding.

Still needs work I'm sure.  Will probably let this one marinate for a round of bug squashing or two before I start adding things again.

@nyaallich: There was a privacy catch all along.  It was just broken and I had forgotten about it.  Only works for the 'sex right here' option though.

Sorry, actually It was working, my bad... :s

Anyway, thank you both!

PS: I'll have in mind the clean saves

PSS: and sorry again.

EDIT: to give a little feedback. I play straight male PC. I'm at the very beginning of the game, so far, just Sunny offered me lunch/dinner.

She adds to my inventory wasteland omelette or caravan lunch. IMO they are two fine foods. Too fine for a NPC like Sunny.

If all NPCs will offer you the same food in lunch/dinner, I'd use a more generic food, like brahmin steak.

And if Its possible that different NPCs offer you different foods, I'd keep the omelette for certain NPCs of New Vegas and the caravan food for caravan -related and NCR people.

I think, for Sunny fit brahmin, bighorn and gecko steaks: whats available in GS or something she hunted.

Again, I dont know what can be done or implemented and I'm just saying my opinion.

Thanks!

No sweat.  You're welcome.

You must be getting lucky because I can't get Sunny to give me the time of day without hitting on her constantly.

Breakfast = Wasteland Omelet

Lunch = Caravan Lunch

Dinner = Brahmin Steak

I'm definitely not going to implement food profiles for every NPC.  It's just not practical.  However I'm not against adding some more variation, or changing things.  Does anyone else think the meals are op?  Are there any foods that should be off limits?

I haven't played on hardcore mode in awhile, so I can't comment on whether or not the meals seems OP.  I see what BoondockSaint is saying lore-wise.  Maybe Sunny's omelets are made with Gecko eggs.  : D

Feedbak so far, with Sunny Smiles: I'm in day 8 since you awake in Doc Mitchell's. I go quite a lot to the Prospector Saloon to buy food and drink  clean water -for free-, since I'm still doing quests close to GS. I go there usually twice a day when dehydration points are high.

The first two/three days I just used, the 'affection' line quite more than than the 'flirt' one. Almost always 'positive response', but her stats as NPC towards my PC rose slowly.

And from day four or so, It was actually Sunny who approached to invite to breakfast/dinner/drink, or show 'affection'. From that moment, I used more the 'flirt' line than the 'affection' one. Again, almost always 'positive response'. The NPC stats rose quickly.

Early at day 8, Sunny asked for a 'date tonight'. I accepted and I went to get a sheriff to Primm. This happened yesterday.

Today, when I opened the game again, a message reminded me I had a date. Cool feature, thanks! I totally forgot the date and I was planning to head to Mojave Outpost after getting Meyers out of the NCRCF.

After freeing Meyers, I returned to GS and started the date. I saw at last the 'sex' options, but I bet I'd get a 'negative response' yet (or If positive, just the more 'conventional' sex is available yet, am I correct?). So, I chose to have dinner.

I don't know if I'm doing things properly or I just got lucky when picking the proper line. Anyway, I like the way things are going. A realistic 'decent girl' behavior instead of just mindless-sex-for-free. It totally fits in Sunny's personality.

Anyway, I'm at certain point that Sunny seems to want more than hunting geckos with me. Well, just when I'm headed to Mojave Outpost and Novac after It (so, not returning to GS anymore), just my luck... :P

On a technical note: during the date dinner, Sunny neither sat on a stool/chair nor triggered her eating animations (unlike when she offered me breakfast/lunch/dinner), she just stood there.

Sorry for the big post, I just wanted to explain with details to give feedback to show if what's implemented is/isnt working :shy:

Good to hear.  Thank you for the run down.  It's worth noting that the Sunny in your game is probably different from the Sunny in my game.  She'll be different every time to a certain degree.  So sometimes you may get the 'Naughty' Sunny, other times the 'Girl Next Door' Sunny, and others still the 'Cold Fish' Sunny.

A couple of tips:

- Wealth is factored into Male PC appeal.

- Save just before starting a relationship so you can try it again if you don't like the NPC you end up with.

Just like real life.

On other things, I dated Sunny again. I confirm that no animations are triggered while 'dinner' on a date. The activity seems to be working, but she just stands doing nothing.

After a while, Sunny proposes 'Afterdate:sex', but theres no option to go somewhere else. The only options are saying 'good night' (PC giving negative response to sex) or having sex right there in the saloon (then, NPC giving negative response to sex). There's no option to go to somewhere else?

Try taking her somewhere else for the date and let me know if she does anything then?  They'll just stand there if the AI is fighting for control, or if there aren't any available idles to go to.  If she exhibits the same behavior everywhere, then I'm going to say it's AI, in which case I'll need to work on it.

Updated the OP with a fix.  I need to know which version you were using when she asked for post date sex?  If it's anything below 24a, you should probably clean save.  I could also use her inhibition/exhibition stats as reported from the console at the time this happened?

EDIT: Found a few stats that weren't clearing on clean save.  Updated the OP again with several new changes to the system.

EDIT EDIT: Added a bunch of pregnancy related stuff in prep for pregnancy integration.

Posted

Updated.  Some things to note:

- new NPC approaches are diminished if the PC looks pregnant.

- pregnancy can be hidden by wearing restrictive clothing.

- pregnancy affects committed and casual relationship stats differently, each have both positive and negative results.

Now that I have my foot in the door regarding identification, I'm going to start working out why and how NPCs react.

Posted

Is the father taken into account with casual versus committed relationships?  I'm guessing that my PC will probably get pregnant before she gets sweetheart level again.

Sort of.  Right now it's just identification.  ie. Acknowledge is or is not pregnant.  Other than that nothing is in yet.

Plans:

- The NPC will not know instinctively but must 'find out', and even then it's not a DNA test, so they will only go by deductive reasoning.

- The main factor for reactions will not be who the father actually is.

- The most important factor will be how they feel about you, and whether or not they are willing to take on the role of provider.

- NPCs that accept the role of parent will lay claim to the offspring.

- There will be an option to confess if trying to hide it, and an option to break the good news if not.

- There will be potential confrontations based on the PCs honesty and NPC parental claims.

- Maybe other stuff too as I think things thru.

I'll cleansave/update and check. Thanks!

Just installed the latest.  I'm getting Activity dialogue when activity hasn't been initiated.  It happened the first time after I clean saved and began tracking.  Next time, it happened after begin tracking, regular affection, and then changed cells.

EDIT;  Didn't see an activity token the first time.  Forgot to check inventory for one the second time.

Posted

The activity busy is used to lock down functions that might conflict if they fire at the same time.  This includes things like approaches, among other things.  So if you've just been approached, it is likely you are in the activity busy state.  Simply wait a minute or so and it will go away.  Or you can check inventory until you don't have any activity tokens and then proceed.

Also, all the things we discussed will put you into the activity busy state if you have a companion (lock picking, opening inventories, whatever else we decided on then, I can't remember, pip boy maybe?).
