The activity busy is used to lock down functions that might conflict if they fire at the same time.  This includes things like approaches, among other things.  So if you've just been approached, it is likely you are in the activity busy state.  Simply wait a minute or so and it will go away.  Or you can check inventory until you don't have any activity tokens and then proceed.

 

Also, all the things we discussed will put you into the activity busy state if you have a companion (lock picking, opening inventories, whatever else we decided on then, I can't remember, pip boy maybe?).

 

No.  I mean activity like being on a date, hanging out, eating something.  Not the "you can relax" one.  I checked Charon's inventory not mine. FWIW.

The relax out of danger mode is not related in any way to the activity busy state.  The same activity busy state that happens while eating, drinking, hanging out, dating...  is the exact same activity busy state you'll get when an NPC returns positive to approach you, and other things, as described above.

 

Example:  If you're with a companion (follow mode), and you pick a lock, hack a computer, loot bodies, etc, you will enter into the exact same activity busy state as you would when eating, drinking, hanging out, etc.  Minus the small talk.

I'm not sure if In/Exhibition is working properly.  Should one always be going up while the other one is going down?  (13/-13 -> 15/-15 -> 17/-17)?

 

EDIT:  Does it count against you if they try to get your attention but you've trigger a cell change in that same instant?  The only consequence I could see is if they're asking you on a date.  I don't think that any of the other NPC-approaching you small talk has any decisions or responses ("you're pretty"/"thank you").

Correct.  The same timer as activities.  It actually has 3 separate timers.  Date/Activity = 90s | Perform A Show = 105s | Lap Dance/Private Dance(Pros) = same as NG sex duration timer.  Now that we're talking about it I may put in another one for when it is only being used as a pause.  Any suggestions?  Too long as is?  Shorter for pause (block interruptions)?  Maybe I should break down and add an MCM tuner for date durations and such.

 

Yeah that's how I have it set so far.  If you're pretty consistent in your actions it will go like that for males.  There are things that make it go the other direction though.  I probably need to fine tune it some more.  Funny thing is I'm still not definitive on how it should be influenced, so I stuck a bunch of adjustments in actions just to get the ball rolling.

 

For example I think flirt pushes it around currently and it probably shouldn't.

 

Some actions will process stats on approach.  For example if affection fills up to higher than heart, it triggers an approach, then resets affection to base.  So in that instance you would be out affection points.  However that specific approach might add +XYZ to desire at the same time it resets affection.  So there shouldn't be any permanent loss.

 

When points go away they don't just disappear, but rather, are spent towards something.  So like in the example above, affection points overflow the heart and are spent towards an approach.  That is why they are reset.  If you miss the approach, you don't get the points back.  You'll have to build them up again.

 

Maybe I should add the original on/off toggle back instead of the automatic danger toggle?  Let me know what you think.

EDIT:  I remember now.  The negative exhibition is only initial.  It goes away after you push it up.  So yes they may match each other for a while, but once you get it above 0 it resets to 0.  Not negative.

 

EDIT EDIT:  If you can understand the spoiler in the OP with the NPC NX stats in it, you can pretty much manipulate any situation you want.  By knowing which stats are tracking stats, and which stats are threshold stats.  Tracking stats build up and overflow a threshold, which then triggers something related to the stat to happen.

 

It's based on that fountain I seen at the mall which fills one bucket at the top, which overflows into another bucket below it, and then another, etc.  lol

Don't you usually get 2 non-activity affections and flirts and then 3 activity or date affection and flirts?  I could definitely have those mixed up as far as how many you have.

 

The point (partially) is that I thought that activity/date affections and flirts were more powerful/effective than random during the day affection/flirts.  So, for example, I didn't want to waste what I perceived to be a high point flirt as "I just looted the fuck out of that ant carcass, and by the way, you look dapper as hell with that new hat."  I don't want to lose any extra special bonus points, although maybe the only extra special ones are the ones on dates.

 

Regardless, I think that there should be a much shorter timer in place.  I would think that 10 in-game seconds would be plenty of time to loot a room.  The main inconveniences were approaches between unlocking and accessing a container, hacking and then using a terminal, and probably stepping from one body to loot another.

 

I didn't know how long it would last, so my walking (walking for realz) around in a fancy outfit was for naught.

 

As for the last thing I said, I got the "Someone's trying to get your attention" message a half of a second before I hit the key to change cells.  I think that they used to continue the package (assuming that it is a package) even after a cell change  - of course, that sort of thing could have been the cause of undesirable timing.  I don't remember if it was a small change or a big change (spinning wheel w/ black screen vs. spinning wheel with backgrounds and help text).  Once loaded, it was back to regular follow/idle time.

I think it was 3 and 3.  At least it should be.  Actually I think it's 4.  3 Pos 1 Neg.  The date interactions don't give you anything more, it's just that you get 3 more in a day that way.  Should they be more valuable on a date?

 

I'll add a short timer for the pause in the next update.

 

There's been a few times I've gotten dialogue first (usually when they're close), and then saw the message after exiting the dialogue.  So that could be happening.  Only the stalkers use a dialogue package.  Everyone else is good ol' startconversation when it comes to dialogue.

 

I know smaller talk get's in the way sometimes too as described in the OP.  If you're in a hurry it can mess things up.  But even if you miss one it's not detrimental.

If you change the dates to give you more points, you'd have to adjust your thresholds again to balance it.  They probably shouldn't be changed.

Hey. Really interested in trying this mod out, but I can't seem to get it working. I get no dialogue options with any npcs, or receive any tokens in inventory.

I've tried clean save, and starting new game. It doesn't seem to activate for some reason. I've also tried using only the requirements and recommendations.

 

Using version SODRL -20140330a

 

Am I missing something?

Have you completed the tutorial (you wake up and learn how to shoot from Sunny)? 

 

Only other stuff I can think of:  Have you had other Sexout mods (besides Eval) working in the past?  I'm inclined to think that you should install Sexout Sex just to verify that Sexout and SCR were installed correctly.

Hey. Really interested in trying this mod out, but I can't seem to get it working. I get no dialogue options with any npcs, or receive any tokens in inventory.

Nyaallich is correct.  The mod doesn't kick off until after the Sunny quest 'Back In The Saddle?'.

Nothing jumps out at me.  Those stats are quite possible.  What's he doing or not doing?

 

From looking at that this is what I would expect.  His next approach will be a flirt. If you leave that alone without blding it back up again, the one after that will be an affection.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding the thresholds.  I thought that Affection/Desire (?) usually got zeroed out when Disposition went up.  In/Exhibition are still changing in pairs.

They work differently for different sex/orientations.  Straight males will empty out any desires/lust first.  Only when there are no desire/lust overflow to pour out, will they then move on to affection.  Straight females prioritize affections first (actually complaints first), then move on to desires.

 

So with males you're trying to get at their affections, but their desires are an obstacle.  Likewise with females you're trying to get at their desires, but their affections are an obstacle.  So they empty out differently.

 

EDIT:  It should empty when disposition goes up due to affection.  I'm not sure it does due to sex disposition gains though.

No you have to 'deal' with one before you get to the other.  The difficulty with males is that you have to get past their libido.

 

The trouble is that the best way to deal with their libido is sex, and sex in turn can keep them from trusting you enough to commit.  So if you're loose, commitment will move further and further away, though they'll happily keep you on the hook, for... you know.  Something about buying cows and free milk?  lol

 

On the other hand if you're a cold fish, you can drive them away completely.  It's a balancing act for certain.  Timing is key.

 

EDIT: Use those 'maybes' in just the right places helps.  Rejection can be beneficial by shaving a little off their desires in order to open a temporary window to their affections.

Is loose tied specifically to how "available" you are to them or overall sexual experience?

 

Casual sex is loose, committed sex is not.  It's pretty much that simple as it applies to an individual NPC.  Now if you go have committed sex with one NPC and come back to another, the second one will consider you loose if they figure out what's going on.

Update in the OP.  Added the missing proposal functions.

 

- Females may now ask for a commitment in response to being asked for casual sex, including the PC.

- PCs can now propose during a date.

  1. No fault of yours or A.J.'s, but if you have Alice in Wasteland installed, I suggest not having a date in the Dormhouse.  Charon tried to get me to fail the quest by idling to a place behind a locked door (same cell, no loading transition) with a guy that fails the quest for you if you don't get in there the legit way.  (I teleported to him as that teleporting to him/to me is the only way that I can find him sometimes when he does his crazy teleporting to other idles thing).  Nothing needs to be done on either end.  Just a comment.

If a companion is waiting, they should not approach you.  Without opening the GECK (TTW stuff takes forever to load, and it's even worse in FNVEdit  : P   /complaining.  Regardless, I don't have the time to open it this morning, but maybe later today), I don't know what package is used for waiting or if it's the same one used with all companions (NV, FO3, Custom).  Hopefully it isn't Sandboxing, since that's part of the whole realistic approaching thing.  Anyway, he started approaching me after I told him to wait at the Atomic Rush.  I was on stage and actually got the prompt for a dance.  In the past, it seems like if I selected "Maybe Later," I wouldn't get the prompt again that day.  So I said "fuck it...dance now, and he can just deal with it."  He made it up to the stage before the dance finished, and everything broke, so don't ever do that.  ; )  Eventually went to conversation, although there were no options.  Just the pointer.  Hit escape, but none of the options showed up (Continue, Save, etc.). 

With the Showgirl quest (the one that's probably the furthest down on your list of concerns ; )  ), do you have it set to allow another dance 24 hours after or the next day?  I don't know how/if you've done much tweaking to it.  I think it was 24 hours later before (hit the Tops at 2 something one morning, next morning wouldn't allow me to dance after 12 - had to wait until it was after 2).  Also, I think that it wasn't letting you dance at both the Atomic Wrangler and the Tops in the same day, but I think you changed that?  I certainly don't see why you couldn't provided that it was hours apart since dancing is available at such different times.

1. Stop making my case about the benefits of relationships being restricted to off duty. lol

2. I just added a wait state pauser.  Now they should hold off when you put them in wait.

3. It resets at midnight (not 24hrs necessarily), but there's a secret I've been keeping to myself.  If you reload the save you get another one if it's already empty.  That might throw you off if you didn't know about it.  I left it in as an easy way to test and just never took it back out again.

 

You can dance at the Tops and Wrangler in the same day, but unless you use the cheat described above, that only works the first night.  ie. Get hired at wrangler before midnight, do a show, get another show at midnight, perform at the Tops.

EDIT EDIT:  Just a little note.  I re-wrote almost every list checking function in the mod.  I was having problems getting NX_IsInList to return a match for certain creatures.  It should work as intended now, but just a heads up if anyone finds an NPC doing something they maybe shouldn't.

 

EDIT EDIT EDIT: And..... of course right off the bat I find one.  Dr. Richards is in the gay list, but was hitting on my Female PC.  Updated again.  Hopefully this fixes list checking once and for all.

FWIW, I checked the ai package for his wait state in-game, and it was Guard (35). 

 

And, hooray, I helped you break the Atomic Wrangler!  Got the messagebox, selected Exotic Dance, immediately got the "Completed: Dance at the Atomic Wrangler."  One time the music came on.  The other time it didn't.  Both times, no dance idles.  I don't *think* that the caps reward was given, but then, I wasn't paying attention since I was waiting for the idles/toggling the camera.
