well i tryed everything i could find on these and the other forum post. still can't get it to work. no matter what i do it all ways CTD when i go to choose the skykids race. do you need the other races/hair mods?

I'm not really sure what could be causing this...

Make sure your mod manager didn't screw up the installation procedure, and that everything is installed correctly(try a manual install perhaps). If that doesn't fix it, try installing the xpms skeleton for your adult races(to get the skeleton hkx file). While that last bit really shouldn't be needed, its the only other thing I can think of to suggest...

Yeah, that sorta wont work either... It's not just the model, the ARMAs for the clothing don't have entries for anything but the vanilla child races; they need manual patching before the armor swapper or the SK races will work on them.

Thanks a lot for the pointer, you saved me quite a bit of time as I had indeed overlooked the missing entries for the additional races in the ARMAs. Did a bit of editing on the swapper .esp and now I'm good to go, I have the outfits working (with a couple of retextures I grabbed from the nexus), which also helps with certain scripted house mods with saunas/baths that would otherwise fail to recognize the non vanilla children clothing leaving them naked.  :)

ok i was looking at other mods, cause i had givin up cause nothing worked. i have some installed and i don't want to mess up what i have cause i finally got the few i got to work. but the mod i'm using had me erase bInvalidateOlderFiles=0 this file and bam the mod worked. does that have anything to do with this mod? i wanted to check before i messed with what i already got working.

PS it was located in the skyrim.ini

So i tried and tried again, pasted the load order into the correct place, clean installed, Nothing. It keeps giving me the error missing skykids.esm. Checked older posts and people just keep saying I pasted the load order wrong. Since I coppied it right off the original post I don't get what I am supposed to do?
What i do in order.
NMM The main file.
Past the load order into the userlist.
Run BOSS
Try to patch.
Error.

So I am giving up, I will just install something else.

Is drow or something else not installed? Is the SkyKids .esm below others that require it? I remember getting it and all I did was drag and drop it to fix it.

When an armor set needs a different texture for the child version (trying to get the RCOTS armors working for SK)  Where do you need to put the texture so the patcher can find it?  I keep getting that very distinctive bright shiny purple that Skyrim uses when it can't find the real texture.

I killed Carlotta Valentia for the Deceiving the Herd quest: http://uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Deceiving_the_Herdwhen I tried to find her daughter, Mila http://uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Mila_Valentia I could not.  I even tried to use the console command "moveto 1a676" with no results.  Does killing Carlotta somehow remove Mila from the game?

Did you try Riften orphanage? That's where she should go if you killed her parent/s.

Well, I went to Solstheim, came back, and she was there.  Anyway, the reason that I wanted to find her to begin with was:

Is anyone else getting blocky faces for some of the children (not all of them)?  I am just using the standard child replacer, not the alternate one.  If this is what everyone else is getting as well, then fine.  Otherwise, I know that, on the Nexus, there is a "fix" for blocky faces of vanilla characters.  However, I'm not sure if it will work for SkyKids (or any other character added or replaced by mods).

Great job, miles ahead of vanilla children (couldn't stand looking at them, they are painfully ugly, their looks tormented me), and better than RS overhaul for my tastes.

The only thing - even if you manage to make LOOT work with this, could you please add an option to disable LO sorting from the command line? I would really prefer a patcher to not mess with my load order, it's not its job. I'm kinda glad it doesn't now :) Or you could just add this option now, so it won't complain about BOSS not being found. It would be really convenient. Something like "-nosort" option that disables all manipulations with the LO.

It does work with LOOT though, there's directions for that in the installation instructions section of the OP; the 'BOSS not found' messages can just be ignored. Glad you like the mod!

I know it works - I do use it, after all. And I'm glad I do. I was just saying, that probably sorting mods doesn't belong to a patch generator? People sort mods, then they run patchers... Like we do with ASIS, PerMa, Requiem and many others. It's not an issue for me at all, I can ignore those warnings. I'm just saying that IMO you could remove this functionality altogether without losing anything.

Hi this mod is amazing no doubt. Recently I have redone my mods and for some odd reason everytime I load this one all the kids have a brown face that ends at the neck line. No matter what I try I cant seem to get it right. I know I must be screwing something up somewhere but I've uninstalled and re-installed everything and it still persists I apologize ahead of time if this is a topic that has been handled but on my searches I can't find it or any solution. So if there is one I would love to make use of this so this amazing mod can be as great as it is.

Great job and thanks regardless of the answer the work is awesome.

I used LOOT but I do have BOSS on the pc and have since used it but to no avail. Its a mystery so far as to why its happening, I was thinking it was Apachii related as I get the black/burnt head and face bug and have to use both the fixes accordingly. So I'm wondering if I should open creator and try the suggested way to fix that but I dont know. Im just guessing at this point.

I don't know whats wrong, but I do know that you don't want to do that. The facegen files supplied were exported with racemenu after extensive modification in game; if you export fresh ones from the CK, they're going to come out looking like crap, not to mention nothing like they were intended to.

Oh ok sorry wasnt really looking forward to it honestly so no love lost there. I'm really only looking to return it to your original idea so I won't do that at all. I'll keep at it might find it after another reinstall of the mods.

No offence intended btw was just shooting out ideas, obviously bad ones lol sorry.

Oh right sorry about that I should know that by now. Hope these are ok.

I had a similar problem.  Some of your facegen files might be missing or corrupted.  I fixed it by redownloading the child NPC replacer, which basically resets the facegen files.

Ok I'll give that a shot and see what happens. Hopefully I can get it fixed as this is by far the best kid replacer out there imo. So much better than the fugly creatures that inhabit unmodded Skyrim. Thanks for the suggestion and reply.
