MidbossVyers Posted November 26, 2014 Posted November 26, 2014 On that page, what's the difference between new male textures and Alternative Male Body Textures? In either case, you did not deem it necessary to adjust the meshes or textures of any shoes for boys that show ankles or toes? The new male textures are for the body that comes with SkyKids as it is. the alternative male body textures are for the alternate male body. They both use different maps and are not compatible with each other. You don't need the new male textures at all anymore (I really should remove those), as they are included with SkyKids now. The Alternative Male Body Textures are for the alternate male body though. As for the meshes and textures, the feet are part of the body texture. I haven't touched the meshes, as I didn't create SkyKids in the first place. I just created a child npc replacer is all and new male textures. En_Hawk made SkyKids. I had trouble getting the textures to line up properly on the default body, thus why I use the alternate body instead which seems to work a lot better for me. I didn't change the mesh any, just the textures themselves. I'm not familiar with mesh editing and all that, just basic Photoshop skills here. But like I said, they work fine in my game without any issues. So you only touched the body and not the shoes (separate folder from the body)? I'm not sure if I mentioned on this forum, but I had a similar problem with adult male feet/shoes, but this mod: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/37022/?(and a compatible body) fixed that problem quite nicely. Does anyone plan to make a SkyKids boys' "FemFeet" mod (with corresponding shoes files)?
Spyder Arachnid Posted November 26, 2014 Posted November 26, 2014 Well not sure what to do now. Had rcots working great for vanilla npc replacer, saw post here about how much better looking and more efficient skykids was so decided to give it a go and switch. Installed size does matter Installed racecompatibility Installed More follower voice Installed Skykids.7z no problems with no races, optional patches for apachii 1.5 and beautiful eyes. Modified userlist for Boss and ran that no warnings. Now i've been told to run skarmorpatcher.jar. Time to go download JRE, run that, sitting here for 15 minutes starting at a Please wait 100% done importing patching window that I've been told not to close because fuck knows how long its supposed to take even though cpu is at 1% and everything is on SDD. RCOTS = 3 double clicks in NMM, boss sort and working. Think I'm gonna switch back. Just cause something is easier to install, doesn't make it better. RCotS overwrites a ton of vanilla assets and is buggy as crud. It forces your vanilla races to use the RCotS assets, instead of their own. The script is a mess, bugs are abound, and it is all in all a poor choice for a playable race/npc child replacer. It might look decent and is easy to install, but the damage it does to your game is unforgivable. RCotS was built off of CotS (the original mod) and CotS was already broken as it is. Nothing was changed about the bugs and glitches in CotS, so they are all still present. And then the author of RCotS went and tacked on a ton of new stuff that just made it worse. RCotS will mess your game up, no doubt. You're making SkyKids more complicated than it is. SkyKids is simple to install, not as you're making it out to be. As well, SkyKids is completely STANDALONE. Meaning it doesn't screw with all your vanilla stuff like RCotS will do. But if you'd rather bust up your game, more power to you. I'd prefer a stable experience than a jacked up one that makes me have to reinstall Skyrim.

Does anyone plan to make a SkyKids boys' "FemFeet" mod (with corresponding shoes files)? I only touched the textures of the body, not armors or any of that stuff. But from what you're saying, this happened to your adult males as well until you downloaded FemFeet Redesigned? Then it's definitely an issue on your end. Either incompatible textures or something overwriting your feet/shoe meshes/textures. Cause if your adults are suffering from the same issue and you had to use a mod to fix it, then it's something with your game in particular. I honestly don't know what else to tell you. Something in your game is causing your adult and child race feet to get messed up. It can't be SkyKids, seeing as you had this same issue with regular adult males, so I have no idea what else it could be. I'd start checking your mods to see what changes your bodies or what might be "redirecting" your meshes/textures.
MidbossVyers Posted November 26, 2014 Posted November 26, 2014 Well, the reason is that custom body mods also customize the feet (duh). More specifically, they separate the toes. However, vanilla shoes that show toes (and ankles for some reason) are made for the vanilla feet with "melded" toes. Therefore, if you get a custom body mod, like Better Males or SoS, you will have this problem until you get a mod that adjusts the relevant shoes to be compatible. However, SkyKids alternate boy body, like SoS Light, does not have any files in the mod that affect shoes.
Dubhorizon Posted November 27, 2014 Posted November 27, 2014 Question for the masters, because you're the only ones that can help me at this time, how do you guys manage to get apachii hair to fit the skykids heads? I'm asking because I've been messing about with the LittleGirl race, where I dropped skykids meshes and textures and kept that race's head which looks so increadible I am thinking of making custom followers with it. The only problem is, whether I import the hair as standalone in ck or add it as master and then do the required changes, the hair (any hair, apachii or Cerami race hair I've tried) float a bit above the head in character creation in game. I found a thread here http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/938134-issues-with-a-custom-race-and-hair/?p=7545509where the guy says he finds the solution by chnging to the correct raceController.new, but I've got no clue as to how to fix that.
en_hawk Posted November 27, 2014 Author Posted November 27, 2014 Uh, I've got no clue on that one. I know that the CK does the hair wrong on a lot of the custom hair packs, and sticks it way above the head, but it always shows up properly in game despite the exported nif file having it floating. Having the hair actually float in game is new to me, have you tried exporting the head using racemenu instead of the CK?
Dubhorizon Posted November 27, 2014 Posted November 27, 2014 Haven't exported anything yet. I just did a patch for that race, the way sk-apachii hair was done for skykids, but instead of the hair fitting perfectly on the heads like with skykids, they float a bit above their heads in-game. I'll try messing about with it some more.
en_hawk Posted November 27, 2014 Author Posted November 27, 2014 Oh, it sounds like there's an incompatibility with the head mesh then. Nothing you can really do about that without re-meshing all the hair, honestly. Does the race mod you're using assets from have any notes about compatibility? Skykids works out of the box as its using vanilla skyrim assets.
Dubhorizon Posted November 28, 2014 Posted November 28, 2014 No idea about compatibilities, it was just an unfinished mod in a Japanese site. From what I see he has edited the vanilla hair and hairline .tri files, so I'll see if I can reverse engineer his changes and apply them to apachii hair. If only all races worked like Skykids. Things would be much simpler. XD I'll try to see if I can do something about it and if not, I'll just find another project to work on. Btw, blabba's high poly heads work with skykids female characters, if you're ever bored and want to experiment with it. Thank you for the replies
getmilkyone Posted November 28, 2014 Posted November 28, 2014 Thanks, I probably didn't explain very well. Yes the missing hair is normal when a hat/hood is worn. What I'm getting is a big bald spot on top half of the child npc head when a hat/hood is worn when triggered by cold/rain weather. The actual hat/hood is not visible at all. Only affects child npc. I've attached screenshot to illustrate. I believe I need something that resizes hats/hoods for child npc. Hmm that's odd. Haven't seen that issue before. So the hood is basically invisible? From looking at your screenshot (hard to see a dark image with all that white around it lol), it appears the hood is non-existent. If that's the case, it seems the patcher didn't patch Wet and Cold. Or you have the patcher loading before Wet and Cold, and BOSS/LOOT didn't sort it properly, thus it never patched Wet and Cold into the patcher. I'm not sure if you're using LOOT or BOSS, but with BOSS, it shouldn't be an issue. With LOOT though, it sorts weird (in my opinion), so you might have to set special rules for the patcher (no idea how to do that as I don't use LOOT to sort my load order). Only other thing I can think of, is when you installed Wet and Cold, did you choose the option for Child Hood Meshes in the installer? When you install it via MO or NMM or any Mod Manager, it gives you the option for child-sized hoods. Did you choose that or no? Cause I always choose that option and have never had this issue. Hoods have always shown on the children. Thank you I was able to resolve the issue with your advice. I think I had done something wrong with the patcher and it didn't catch Wet and Cold. Running into a totally different issue though. Wonder if anyone else has ran into it for the males. This weird neck is happening for all males that are wearing this piece of clothing.
tekriax Posted November 28, 2014 Posted November 28, 2014 Hello, sorry if this has been asked before, I can't seem to find a post with the same problem as my own. Anyway, I'd like to thank you for your work first, it's rare to see this much effort put into something. On to the problem; after installing everything I run the skarmorswapper program and it seems to go well. When I get in-game, all works well and I can make a monli character just fine. However, after I have finished, I start at Breezehome (I'm using alternate start mod) and I'm given miner's clothes. My character now has adult breasts that are rather over-sized. This happens on every piece of armor I have tried. I had originally intended to use fox armors for my character, but no matter what armor I use, her breasts grow to adult size and these armors were meant for flat chests. If you have any idea what is happening, I'd love to get some help. If this problem has already been answered before, I apologize. Thanks!

If you are using an armor replacer for your adults, it can conflict with the child armors. So for instance, if you are using something like Killer Keo's Skimpy Armor Replacer, or Minidresses Collection, or any other armor replacer, it will show up on the kids as well for some odd reason. Not all armor replacers do this though. Things like A Little Sexy Apparel Replacer don't, because they use separate folders than the vanilla armors. So I'm guessing it has to do with any mod that replaces the vanilla armors directly. I'm not sure what causes it, but I get the same issue as well when using any armor replacer for adults.

Looking at that picture, you are either using an old outdated version of SkyKids, or a modified version of SkyKids that is not supported here (the textures are a dead give away). So that's the cause of it.

That way the adults use the replacement meshes and the kids use the vanilla. Try this and see if it fixes most of the problems. https://mega.co.nz/#!oFABHTQa!b-nh7eta1sPecBdylqSjRV4PaphlYIjwBzQxIexBeXY

This weird neck is happening for all males that are wearing this piece of clothing. Which male body are you using, the default one or the alternate/old one? If you're on the default one, its possible that its a model issue with the body itself(I know it has a neck problem, I just haven't fixed it yet as its gonna be a lot of work). Is it just that one outfit, or all outfits+naked? Hello, sorry if this has been asked before, I can't seem to find a post with the same problem as my own. Try one of the vanilla armors and see if that works; we have all of the vanilla+dlc armor converted, but some of the vanilla clothing doesn't have resized meshes yet(and I know the miner outfit is one of them, for instance). Try that first, before messing around with your data folder like the others suggested. Another note, all custom armor/clothing is going to appear with adult sized breasts, as the model conversions have to be done manually, and we only supply models for the vanilla equipment.
Dubhorizon Posted December 1, 2014 Posted December 1, 2014 I read there's a plan on adding npcs in sensible locations. I'm bored and thinking of doing just that. Was thinking of a mod that adds Vampires and Bandits in some prisons. All will be in the follower faction. What do you think?
en_hawk Posted December 2, 2014 Author Posted December 2, 2014 By all means, go for it. Also there's this too http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/58016/.
Dubhorizon Posted December 2, 2014 Posted December 2, 2014 Yep, I will just upload it here and you and Johann are free to include it in LL and Nexus pages if you want.
Bixto Posted December 4, 2014 Posted December 4, 2014 So am I missing something or is this mod's download page missing the actual mod download?
gigk9 Posted December 5, 2014 Posted December 5, 2014 So I just tried Children of the Sky which did not work for me so I decided too go ahead and try this mod instead and I'm having the same problem I was having with that one even after following the install instuctions, For some reason when I go too create my character the minute I select any of the child characters my game instantly CTD's, I have no other mods installed except SKSE and the ones needed for this too run, I have tried everything I can think of so I was hoping maybe someone here might have some ideas as too what too try too fix it.
Spyder Arachnid Posted December 5, 2014 Posted December 5, 2014 Be easier to fix your issue if you posted a load order. This way we can see what you have installed and the order you have it in as well.

The only other mod I have running right now is alternate start but I have tried without too the same outcome, I also tried it on a fresh game install as well
Spyder Arachnid Posted December 5, 2014 Posted December 5, 2014 Hmm, not 100% sure as I don't think there is any other requirements. Have you tried the PreCache Killer? It's not a requirement, but it helps with crashing in the showracemenu. As well, have you cleaned your files yet with Tes5Edit? Unofficial Patches would help as well. Are you using the Hearthfire version of Alternate Start? If so, it requires Hearthfire Multiple Adoptions, which you don't have in there. Only other idea I can think of, is your Skyrim using the latest patch and have you verified your cache via Steam to make sure it's not a Skyrim issue?
