Jase1983 Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 Ive installed everything the way the installation process describes and managed to get the child vanilla overhaul to work but where are the other a.i child races in the game? or are the other child races only for making a character at the start of the game thanks Not sure what you mean. If you mean replacing the NPC children you need to download and enable that addon for SK. The base package only adds playable child races, doesn't replace any existing NPCs. Ok thanks, Im not good with words and should have read the front page a little bit more, but it looks like what im after might be added in the future, still a great mod though Further down the line we're going to be looking at adding new child NPCs across the world in sensible locations,
JerWA Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 @Jase1983, There are actually a few available now. There is a Drow downloadable as an addon, she's in the Riverwood inn. I've also got 2 unofficial Nordlettes, one a ranger one a melee tank, in that inn as well which you can download here. No other custom NPCs have been made yet from the updated resources as far as I'm aware.

NotMateo Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 @User13, Meshing and Textures is all 'hawk so I'll leave that one for him to field. I sorta kinda suspect I know what's going on there but even if I'm right I can't fix it so no reason to wander off into the woods haha. @NotMateo, Glad to hear it's not a total disappointment to you. So what does everyone want next? There's a huge list of important things 'hawk is working on, but I'm mostly here to break things and then figure out why they broke and subsequently add them to 'hawks list haha. That said, are there are hair or eye mods someone wants patched? Should I go back to trying to make a teen? How late am I to suggest an option to have a more muscular build? I actually saw another comment wanting this for females- it'd be nice to have a character who looks like he could swing a giant axe Also, definitely not a disappointment.
JerWA Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 More muscular build for the boys it sounds like? Hrm. The appearance is probably easy enough to modify for someone with the skills (kinda like the muscle girl I posted up above which is just shading), but if you wanted an actual mesh change that's a nightmare because all of the armor would have to be done too.
bob11 Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 Aren't these WAY too many .esps considering all the patches? Any chance some of these can be merged?
JerWA Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 It's a WIP. Frequent changes, little tests and updates to individual things. Combined ESPs makes changes and change management a giant PITA. Feel free to make your own if you're hurting for ESP slots. Understand of course that they won't be supported in any way shape or form. Here's a handy script for it: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/37981/? I'm sure as we approach code stability we can start offering them ourselves, but we're not there yet heh.
MidbossVyers Posted February 6, 2014 Posted February 6, 2014 Is it possible for the high elf girl default face to be rounder? The face, as it stands now, is rather gaunt for a child. The other elf faces are good enough as is.
JerWA Posted February 6, 2014 Posted February 6, 2014 The current presets are a known weak spot and not a very high priority. If you use CGE with the ECE morphs it will give you much greater freedom in changing the face to suit your likes. There's a compatibility path in the first post to make it easier to get started even.
panthercom Posted February 7, 2014 Posted February 7, 2014 Did I start something? Looks good, especially the abs. Skyrim has active kids who actually do physical labor, like working at a forge. So why should they look like soft little marshmallows who play video games all day, unless they're spoiled rich brats who don't have to work and have plenty to eat. Now, a magic user character wouldn't need the muscles of a warrior, so different body choices would be very appropriate. The orphaned, homeless kids would probably be skin and bones. Of course, if you made a kid who looked like they could actually carry 400+ lbs even I would probably run away screaming Been meaning to do this for a while. Here's some playing around with texblend to muscle up a kid. I think the leg effects are a bit too subtle and the ab effects too strong, so I may do another one here shortly where I apply the legs twice and dial the abs way back. I've blurred bits, but still pretty borderline if you were looking at this from work, so I've spoilered it. muscles1-front.jpg muscles1-rear.jpg Bear in mind this is just me playing around, this is in no way related to anything official for SK. Just thought I'd make my own entry for our body building contest haha.
panthercom Posted February 7, 2014 Posted February 7, 2014 My game got too unstable; kept crashing when changing cells even with stability mods. One thing I did notice when I was troubleshooting was that the Armor Swapper had acquired a bunch of dependencies (masters?) that had nothing to do with clothing, such as weapon mods and NPC altering mods. There were about twenty five mods showing up in the mod manager entry, and only five were actual clothing mods. A couple examples: The Bijin Warmaidens mod, that makes the followers look better, and the Mod that adds Longbows and a new archery tree Is this supposed to be happening? It complicated my cleanup attempts. The game is gone now; I'm going to reinstall it after my computer upgrade is finished and make a fresh start. I did manage to get to level 46 with my Skykids character, FWIW. I miss my little gal; I'm kind of depressed about it... but she will live again.

Yes it is supposed to operate like that, it masters anything with armor entries for the vanilla races, playable or not.
JerWA Posted February 7, 2014 Posted February 7, 2014 And it will also regenerate if you run it again, so if you remove mods that are mastered just run the jar again to generate a new ESP.
MidbossVyers Posted February 7, 2014 Posted February 7, 2014 I assume that this mod is not yet compatible, correct?
JerWA Posted February 8, 2014 Posted February 8, 2014 I assume that this mod is not yet compatible, correct? First post tells you how to make your own compatibility patch if you so desire. It's pretty easy once you stumble through it the first time. If you only want one pony tail and want it to bounce around with havok physics I made a compatibility patch for that mod.
MidbossVyers Posted February 8, 2014 Posted February 8, 2014 Oh, if you already have at least 1 ponytail made compatible, then I would indeed like to take a look at it. May I please have a copy? Though, admittedly, getting the eye slash warpaint is probably more critical, as there are some scenes where Cloe's hair is down anyway, as opposed to Mylen who always sports the face marks. Although, the ponytail would indeed help Cloe's Skyrim character. Also, Havok physics is the vanilla physics system already employed by Skyrim, correct?

And yes, it's someone elses project to add physics to hair. I don't know if it's still being developed or not, there's only one hair I know of so far. I just made a patch so it would be selectable by SK. If you haven't yet, you should add CGE and the ECE compat patch for SK. It will let you change the eyes around pretty drastically. Combined with the eyes of beauty patch you'll have many more options (though probably none quite so animeish). Since 'hawk released the scripts to make compat patches all you need to do is find stuff that you want and you can make it compatible really easily.
MidbossVyers Posted February 8, 2014 Posted February 8, 2014 Are you referring to the eyes or the eye slash warpaint? I believe that even in the vanilla, high elves can have green eyes and that carries over to high elf children.
JerWA Posted February 8, 2014 Posted February 8, 2014 Was referring to just eyes. Eyes of Beauty worth it, trust me. There's green eyes, and then there's GREEN eyes haha. Not sure about paint, I know there are some mods out there and I think the CGE mod page on Nexus talks about how to do custom ones so that might be worth investigating for you for that reason as well.
MidbossVyers Posted February 8, 2014 Posted February 8, 2014 Did I install something wrong, or am I correct in assuming that CGE affects shape, but not color? Also, does the support patch only provide support for the ECE morphs of CGE, or does it also support ECE itself? Or is that unnecessary?
Sarathis Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 Forgive my slightly paranoic question but just how long is the SKArmorPatcher.jar supposed to take when you run it? I ask because the first time I ran it when I'd only installed the SK main and SK Armorswap mods the patcher took just a few seconds and created the Armor .esp. After installing Monli, Drow, Drow follower, and the Cosmetic patch, though, it just seems to run and run and not do anything. It's been up for about 18 minutes now and says: Please wait... 100% (8/8) Importing HiResTexturePack03.esp: Done That's what it's shown since it's been up, basically. en_hawk says to just let it run and not shut it down until it's finished but that long a time seems excessive. I have no installed any other mods between running the .jar, just the Sky Kids ones. All the .esms and .esps are activated. Is there something wrong or is it supposed to take this long?

It shouldn't take that long, I've got lots of armour mods and it takes at most 20 seconds. But I have the unofficial patches, don't know if that makes a difference.
MidbossVyers Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 By the way, does vampirism cause sunken cheeks for child races? I recently installed ECE and noticed sunken cheeks on my Breton girl vampire. Was that caused by ECE, or was that always there, and I just didn't notice it?

You want http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/29624/ if you want to export faces, also have a look at this http://wiki.tesnexus.com/index.php/Using_a_face_made_with_Chargen_Extension_on_an_NPC_for_Skyrim
