I gonna get shot😅 but is there a way to make it this mod more lore-friendly (ye i know how it sounds). eg allow only ropes, iron, no ebony stuff?

DD is a repository of items and a framework that handles them.

You need to install/make mods that either only equip the types of restraints that you want or have the option to configure what they equip.

As  @Taki17 beat me in writing, this mod doesn't do anything on its own other than providing Devices and the means to lock and unlock them. Only use the ones you like and you should be fine.

If you want to have traps that only bind you with lore-friendly devices, you could give Devious Curses NG a trial. You can set rules for bondage sets, and have another file with exclusions.

I have a problem with blindfold that they get unequipped when a SexLab scene starts. Even after the scene ends they don't get reequipped and when I try to rewear them from the inventory they appear there as "equipped" but can't be really reequipped and And don't appear on the player character model. 

Is there any fix to that ?

I got an issue that I've been trying to fix for a while (I am new to modding on pc so I'm likely doing something wrong here) I've installed all required mods and installed Laura's Bondage Shop, Batch Build everything and checked to see if the mods are running. The issue I have is that none of the items are actually visible. They exist, I can purchase them and have them in my inventory, but they're completely invisible. Do any of you know how to fix this?

You eiter forgot to run Bodyslide, or in case you did, the output goes to the wrong directory.

That question pops up every week, if you search a bit backwards, you should find some instructions.

If you have an outfit management system that unequips DDs - got ask for help in that mod's thread.

 

Sexlab doesn't uneqip locked items on its own, so the blindfold that gets unequipped isn't the one that's still locked on you. This sounds like an old bug.

Every DD comes with two items in your inventory, the visible, rendered one, and the invisible lock. It seems that a lock stayed active when some device got unequipped, so you might want to try all blindfolds in your inventory if one of them sticks. Unlock it the ususal way, done.

 

But as bugs are never easy, I suspect you need to go through the lengthy "find the culprit and remove it via console" process.

Make a save.

Put everything you can in a container, console yourself enough key to get rid of all/most of your restraints. Keep one blindfold for testing purpose.

Open the console, type "player.inv" to see your inventory. As you've put everything in a container, that list should be short.

Find your blindfold and look for items with a similar number from the same mod - all items from the same mod start with the same two digits.

If you have some other DDs still equipped (bloody time locks) you'll see that you have some worn, but invisible items with a number +/- 1 of the rendered item. Find the one that doesn't have a match - that would be the lock for the blindfold that's been long gone, but xx040F0C is okay, that has to stay.

Try to remove that lock (i.e. xx12345) by typing "player.removeitem xx12345 1"

close the console, try to equip your kept blindfold. If you succeed, all is well, if not, repeat until you find the right lock.

Reload your save, repeat removing the last lock (should be just the up arrow in the console), done.

Animations trigger but don't play (characters idle) with a device on and female characters keep equipping a strapon. Pandora related?

 

Edit: Normal non-DD animations play after running FNIS after Pandora, but weird strapon issue still happens with DD anims.

Edit: Reinstalled a lot of mods with new game and saved/quit/reloaded, but issue is still there. Female goes into male pose with strapon. Makes no sense.

None that I'm aware of. DD items work by you equipping an inventory item, which in turns runs a script that equips the rendered item and sets some properites and variables in the background as well.

You certainly can't just shove them on to any NPC.  I've tried .... 😜

 

But they do seem to equip OK on followers, at least if using iAFT to manage the follower's outfit. 

 

And sadly, FWIW, other dialogue based, mods that equip 'normal' NPCs with clothing etc do not seem to work if you try to use them to add DDs either 

 

Real pity.

 

I think that there are 'non-DD scripted' versions of DD equipment available, ie for visual effect only.  Some of the mods by @Corsec might be of use as long as you are just looking for eye-candy rather than functionality

thanks, then how do you equip DD on NPCs?

So far I've found these ways, but it feels quite limited:

  • reverse pickpocketing them: most of the time, it doesn't work, they turn hostile
  • after acheron defeat -> plunder -> add them to inventory
  • with mods like DOM that add outfit management, but this is only for slave NPCs

Either of the following:

  • a mod that lets you access NPC inventories similarly to follower inventories
  • a mod that lets you lock DDs on NPCs via dialogue
  • via the console command "openactorcontainer 1" on the selected NPC

I am having an issue when using some DD items in some combined sets I've put together for a mod. 

When using either of these the game cdt's, I'm on the newest updated version, and I've tried re building in bodyslide, but still cdt's

Are these only compatible with certain other devices ?

Based on the items you list, I have a suspicion it's an FSMP-related error, so look around there, if FSMP is installed/configured correctly.

Having some issues with contraptions, NPC work and all the mechanics for me work but when I get in, the device disappears and I just stand there. It used to work and if I start a new game it works, but at some point along this save I broke it.

 

Is there any way to recover from this?

hello I'm running into an issue specifically with the plugs not fitting right I've run bodyside and everything else works perfectly but at least from what I've tried the pony plugs sit below the actors feet and the inflatable plug bulb also sits below the actors feet with the line stretched out.

Having an issue with the *body* being invisible when DD items are equipped
Only started happening once I installed OBody NG

Other than DD items, everything else works fine, it's specifically when DD items get equipped
At first I wondered if it was an issue with having to build bodyslide using Zeroed Sliders, instead of a specific body (OBody NG requirement)
But the DD items all change shape to fit whatever body I swap to in the Obody MCM, so they are all built properly and functioning
Has anybody else had this issue?

I have DD, DDNG, Devious Curses and Unforgiving Devices installed
Wasn't sure which to post in but I imagine here would be the best place

Double make sure you ticked the "build morphs" checkbox in Bodyslide when you built the items.

I have updated to the newest Devious Device NG. However, it is telling me that cannot find mfgfix.dll and SKSE64.dll, both of which I have already installed. Prior to the update, I've never seen this message. Any fix here?

You have something overwriting zadNativeFunctions.pex, go over your load order and remove everything that overwrites DD NG.
