Devious Devices NG

Hey there
Running AE, using Vortex, using Devious Devices 5.2 and NG With both, I get a CTD whenever I try to start a new game.
Crash log points at Devious Devices, you can see the crash log attached.
Disabling NG : Complains about the DLL being outdated or incompatible
Disabling DD :  CTD 
Disabling both : No CTD
Any ideas what could help?

is there a keyword/device that prevents masturbation?

like do the hand restraints provide that?

 

and also, what is the keyword for plugs that triggers the occasional animations?

Hi so I am having a weird issue. The tiny steps walking in hobble dress.animation is not working as I remember it. The character is doing the regular walk but slower. This happens if I try both the slow walk animation and the bunny hopping animation. I remember there being a unique animal for the hobble dress walking mod, and I am using oar and Pandora? Not sure what I'm doing wrong. I tried to do it with this too but it broke my animations completely and got me stuck in a t pose since fnis is horribly outdated at this point. Any ideas how I can fix this?

I suspect an OAR priority conflict, the OAR animation log might tell you more, also check the DDNG OAR config to see what conditions are (not) met for the proper animation to play.

how do i see this?

shift plus o is not openign anything in game. i had to do this [delete/hide/rename the file "meshes\actors\character\animations\OpenAnimationReplacer\DD to OAR\config.json" in Diary of Mine.] to get OAR to stop spamming me about a major error about DOM and i was told to do that on the DD NG discord page to stop it.

Reinstalling oar seemed to fix it I did have to rename the config file though but the animations are working now thank you for your help

I think I've found the cause of this issue, though not the solution. In Bodyslide, most items show all presents I have installed (Just the GTS ones included with the OBody patch), but for some reason, the armbinders don't show all of the slider presets. If I pick one of the slider presets that does show in the list (probably half of them or so), the armbinder renders correctly. But the OBody preset I had picked for my character is one of the ones that doesn't show up in the preset list under the armbinders, and I think that's causing the issue with the clipping I'm seeing.

 

I have been messing with bodyslide for about 2 days trying to get those missing presets to show up under the armbinder but I haven't gotten it to work. No idea why they seem to be missing from just the armbinders, as every other item I've checked they show up under the slider preset list.

Hey there. I've been getting the same issue a previous poster has- I'm on Vortex as well, Skyrim AE.

 

With DD NG installed I get a CTD, gonna post my log too; With just DD of course it complains about an outdated DLL, without either my installation works as in I can start a new game normally. It's a fresh new install, haven't played at all beyond test running it.

 

What else can I add that would help? Just LMK and I'll provide it.

Edit : Just wanna add that strangely enough, without changing a single thing, I could start a new game to test some mods like a day ago. Now though I got this crash and it's consistent. I've changed nothing at all so it's just really weird.

Okay I have a huge mod pack I use the Tahrovin or Tahrovin GRIT mod pack and for the 2 of them devious devices works very well.

BUT 

Devious Devices NG has a infinite lag freeze on the loading of a save  only if you wear a custom clothing/or some special modified clothing or mod clothing on the chest.
Like if you just put no clothes in the chests before each save then it works fine but this is super annoying.

I am no professional here but I think through my own perception that Devious Devices NG is at fault as Devious Devices 5.2 works fine.
I think it has to do for some reason that its loading script/pattern conflicts in some way or another with clothes.

I think this should be fixable.

Hey, sorry for the delay there. Literally not even 48 hours after I posted, some core mods I use popped updates on Vortex after which the CTD was gone. I asked the other person who had the same issue if that worked for them, and it did. If I had seen your response earlier I'd have gladly tried it, but I must assume now that nothing would have changed, considering it's all working fine. At least... For the time being? I'd love to roll back and test to see what it was but on the other hand, I think "If it works, don't fix it" is a good approach here.

...But just to clarify, at the time I reported the CTD here my mods were up to date for sure.

so somehow when I try to escape from a device (cuff, armbinder) with struggle - There is no struggle animation. can anyone help what could be the problem here

Not normally, no. In fact, in my experience it was more prevalent on NPCs until I started using Heels Fix.

 

I do know of a DD quirk of sorts where if several restraints are equipped and the high-heeled DD boots are not the last one, the offset might disappear until you load into a new cell or reload the save.

I think this part goes through OAR since DDNG first released, open up the OAR animation log ingame, start a struggle, and see if it says anything's missing. Paste the result here if unclear what the log says.

Assuming this is where you are not seeing any struggle animations - and since here the animation seems to be called explicitly, by its name, it may not be an OAR override, so you need to make sure you have ran Pandora properly to update and include all animation behaviors. If it's not that, I haven't any more ideas at the moment.

If possible can you share your OAR logs of what we should expect when struggle is triggered for armbinder - I can also check in which override animation is triggered there and see if that is missing on my end

Can someone please send their logs, I'm trying to pinpoint the exact problem here, is it OAR, is it Nemesis, or anything else

Created a new build after finally switching from a very stable one which has been running fine for years. SE. Stuff seems to kind of (mostly/'almost'?) work, I can start new game without problems, mods load successfully (? ...no warnings or errors I can see), devices were built succesfully in bodyslide, ran fnis, restraints are displayed as desired on character, use UD and it gives no warnings and seems to work when struggling. There's also a new way to interact with

 

But, during testing I equipped a hood and I got a notification 'You can't fast travel while you're blinded!'

 

Not a problem, cool new feature. Problem is, I don't get that notification once, I get it once every 2 seconds, displaying at the top left corner of the screen as long as the hood is on (making the game basically unplayable as there's no way to overlook this/ignore it). There are some (new, to me) debug menu options in the Devious Devices menu with various message options and notification options - disabling all of them makes no difference, I keep getting bombarded with that message. I'm not even sure if this is 'ddng' that is causing it, or one of the (new/updated) dependencies (earlier stable build was also using ddng, but a much lower version). 

 

Did anyone encounter this problem before? I went over 25 pages or so here, but I couldn't find anything. I'm not quite sure what information is needed to help out narrowing down he cause.


//Added answer here, just because there was no good reason not to at least share this in case it might be helpful to someone else: This problem was not related to ddng. While updating the build I also installed the mod Devious Curses, and the messages were coming from that mod (Misc menu had a Restrict Fast travel option which is set to true by default - deactivating that setting resolved the problem).
