If the DDNG group isn't appearing in bodyslide, then you didn't install it properly.

I am using EFF so they should be auto equiping and are doing it with the base armors Followers will prefer armor that they're skilled for, and DDs count as clothing, not armor, and don't have an armor rating. As far as I'm aware, you'd have to take away all their armor to force them to wear DDs.

Probably more. But only DCL has a full-on questline that introduces them gradually in an immersive way and is pretty fun to play all the way through. A re-write or a remake or a spiritual successor of that aspect of DCL using modern tools would be most welcome. I can imagine a questline that progressively implements all the new and shiny devices from NG while having you travel all over Skyrim either in search of freedom or slowly submitting to a life of a sub, would be pretty fun as well. Is there a problem where if you fail a sequence, it gets stuck in an endless loop of failures? Last time I tried, no matter which button I tried after failure, I got stuck where none of the buttons would progress the minigame.

No, how it works is that the min/max settings in the MCM define the range of minimum time you need to hold a button down, i.e. if you set min=0 and max=5, each button gets assigned a time X between 0 and 5 seconds it needs to be held, but holding it longer than X is also fine. The idea was that your character needs some minimum amount of time messing with the restraints to progress towards freeing themselves, and this time may vary for each step. I can see how you could conclude it worked the way you describe, though. I should probably make that a little clearer. 2. I'm guessing this is due to the misconception in 1., since if it rolled the max time and you're trying to stay below that you'd always miss it. In case it isn't and you get another situation where you think you're getting stuck, turn on logging in the DD MCM and it'll log a bunch of things about the minigame to your papyrus logs. Did the minigame start properly i.e. do the tutorial messages pop up when you select the "struggle" escape option from a contraption and then pressing buttons does nothing, or do the messages not appear either? If it's the latter, I found out recently that there are a few mods that ship their own contraptions objects that use DD's contraption script, but currently the minigame will not work on those because they're won't have the variable pointing to the minigame set on them. I'm working on a fix for that for next DD NG version which should make them compatible again. You should still be able to just get to the contraption menu and use the "pick lock" or "break device" options to escape, though.

No, but the break free/lockpick option still functions as they used to, so if you're more into RNG for your contraptions - those are still available.
Guest Posted May 22, 2025 Posted May 22, 2025 armor for followers also has to be better than the gear they have on, Sarana won't change her boots for the same pair even if it has high power enchants if its untempered. maybe where follower frameworks come into play.

There's a few nuances to it that I intentionally left unexplained (though the changelog sort of spoils a few), because they're intended for players to figure out themselves - you can play it without knowing them, but you can learn them if you pay attention and actually get good at the minigame that way. Guest Posted May 22, 2025 Posted May 22, 2025 I have a problem where the hobble dress animations do not work, my characters legs are unaffected when wearing a tight hobble dress and she does not bunny hop even though that is the option I've checked in both devious devices 5.2 and ng with all prereqs. She does a slow walk instead as if she is overencumbered. I am on 1.6.1170 I have run fnis and have no warnings there or on vortex. If anyone has any idea what could be causing this and a fix, please share.

I also use the newest Unforgiving Devices, but I don't think that mod is at fault here. EDIT: Managed to fix it by changing the load order. Rearranged Papyrus mods in this order: PapyrusUtil SE powerofthree's Tweaks powerofthree's Papyrus Extender Papyrus Tweaks 4.1.0 Then, placed them right above DD mods (with the exception of PapyrusUtil, but only because I left it accidentally at the top) and it seems to work now. Other mods detect DD version correctly now as well. Edited May 28, 2025 by namelessfellow
