LynErso666 Posted September 16, 2024 Posted September 16, 2024 I have tested this extensively in a few playthroughs now, with Sexy Adventures also. Cuz that's just awesome. They are great together. I don't use the bikini licenses tho. Im pretty minimalistic with it, except the prices, I make those insane. But anywho, I'm extremely impressed. And the ability to adjust the scan for massive heavily modded cities teeming with peoples, wow. 👩🍳💋 for sure. You really did amazing. Thank you very much. 1
Dez65 Posted September 16, 2024 Posted September 16, 2024 HI - I just updated from 1.18.2 to 1.18.3. I get a warning that a dependency is missing and when I check Auxiliary, it shows that PapyrusUtil is invalid. I use SexLab Utility Plus v20240407 by OsmelMC which contains and requires its own version of PapyrusUtil, which is later than the most recent version for SE (3.9). With 1.18.2 and prior, I never got a dependency error and Licenses worked just fine (except that I'm having trouble getting 1.18.2 to trigger a license violation in Whiterun which is why I tried the update - seems the mod is giving me Thane immunity even though that box is not checked in MCM). I don't want to give up Osmel's mod. Is there a reason that 1.18.3 doesn't recognize his version of PapyrusUtil? As always, love your mod and thanks for all your hard work?

Version 1.18.2 ran fine on a new game and then stopped working anywhere. I uninitialized in MCM, disabled the plug-in, made a clean save and reinstalled and it started working again. But now it's stopped triggering violations anywhere. Not sure what I've done wrong but I've been using your mod almost since inception and never had a problem. Thanks for any troubleshooting tips. I'll get a log to you when I play again. Edited September 16, 2024 by Dez65

Nuascura Posted September 16, 2024 Author Posted September 16, 2024 (edited) @Dez65 Releasing a modified .dll for the public to use without obvious documentation is really suspect. Be that as it may, PapyrusUtil (from Nexus Mods) has two internal plugin names depending on the version you’ve installed; the current 1.5 SE version has a plugin name that doesn’t match its actual file name. Likely, if Osmel is assuring this plugin works NG or with .640, .1130, and .1170, they probably didn't change the plugin name to match the current convention. You can easily confirm that this is the case by testing with the compiled MCM script I posted on the previous page. For your thaneship issue, would you mind contacting me on Discord? My handle is the same as my username here. Or, preferably, find me on PonziPyramid’s discord channel. The link is attached to their Practical Defeats listing. Edited September 16, 2024 by Nuascura

The scenario as the log has recorded seems to indicate that the Violation Check quest is stuck running. LPO has correctly not given you a pass for any held Thaneships. Hence, you don't have any exception states, which allows LPO to at least attempt to call Violation Check. You might try this console command sequence to self-debug before returning to me: getquestrunning BM_Licenses_ViolationCheck execute while in an idle state and wait at least 10 real life seconds before running it again. If the quest is active in both conditions, it is more than likely stuck. The quest is supposed to terminate itself after 5 seconds. stopquest BM_Licenses_ViolationCheck execute this command if the quest is stuck running. This will stop the quest. startquest BM_Licenses_ViolationCheck execute this command if the quest wasn't stuck running after checking with the first command. Immediately afterward, run the first command (getquestrunning ...) to confirm if the quest actually started.

I also use sexlab utility with it overwriting papyrus util so i get the same error. 18.13 seems to work. I did a quick test by initializing the mod, selecting the timed scan option, and running up to the whiterun gate with armor. The guard then confiscated my armor. I don't know if it messes anything else up

Wondering how I would check for the cause of bm_license_violationcheck sticking. I have a lot of heavily scripted mods but I'm guessing that it may be the guards check when entering a town for Skooma addiction in Skooma Whore since they both are triggered at roughly the same time.

Thanks for getting back to me quick on this! Looks like we don't have to do any further testing unless you are somehow able to replicate this issue again. I'll look into putting additional safeguards against this issue. @Dez65 @beetlebug123 The warning should still be safe to ignore since I assume none of the papyutil functions LPO uses are anything special or too new. https://www.loverslab.com/topic/218928-licenses-player-oppression/?do=findComment&comment=6807775 ^ This is the compiled script I was referring to. You can use this to confirm if the warning goes away, but don't actually play with it. This script will be implemented with 1.19.0. 1

If it works with that script, does that meaning its a false warning and I can update to 1.18.3?

Just wanted to let you know that CheckViolation is getting stuck everytime my licenses expire. I can easily unstick with the stopquest command but thought you would like to know. Let me know if you think a log would help. Not sure what could be causing this. Never happened with 1.17.4 and it really doesn't happened based on any fixed activity or location. Changing locations doesn't help nor does entering and exiting interiors. I rolled back to 1.18.0 to see if that was the problem but it does the same sticking with that version too. I note that I started using 1.18.2 on a new game but it never fired violations at all until I reinstalled on a clean save. After that, as noted, it still stuck when licenses expired. (I decided not to use 1.18.3 because of the false papyrus warning but that also stuck the first time I ran it). In case it matters, I use Realm of Lorkhan - Freeform Alternate Start at Skyrim Special Edition Nexus - Mods and Community (nexusmods.com) and I generally start a new game with all mods enabled in MO2. Know you're working on 1.18.4 so no rush on this. Just wanted to let you know. Thanks for your hard work!
Nuascura Posted September 25, 2024 Author Posted September 25, 2024 (edited) @Dez65 I'm currently finalizing a release. Try this beta out with the steps you'd take to replicate your issue. If the issue still occurs, pass me: 1. A step-by-step replication process that I can follow from the point of creating a new character 2. A papyrus log with Licenses' trace outputs Edited October 1, 2024 by Nuascura Removed Attachment
GTAVC16 Posted September 25, 2024 Posted September 25, 2024 May I suggest a feature: If the Magic License is enabled with curse, but without collar, give us some options to remove the curse without buying a whole Magic License. Maybe a shady contact or a friendly wizard may help the player for a price.

OR, if you happen to spy an NPC in vanilla Skyrim that fits the bill, perhaps I can add the dialogue to their branch.
Nuascura Posted September 26, 2024 Author Posted September 26, 2024 (edited) Small note: I only updated the main post with new graphics and my patreon link (if you have the gold, feel free to fund my hobby as I have funded others. or come watch me ramble for free!) I'd say that once the plater is a thane, the court wizard of those holds may be persuaded to dispell the curse for a fee. If the player is in the Thieves guild, Tonilia would be a good fit. The assassins guild has a mage, too.

With your beta, I created a new merged Bruma/Dialogue plugin from the 1.19.0 Bruma/Dialogue plugins. After updating the MCM, I fast traveled to Solitude and was challenged almost immediatly for lack of a clothing license. I'll see if the checkviolation script gets stuck next time my licenses become invalid and give you the step-by-step you requested if that happens. On a side note, 1.19.0 recognizes the papyrusutil.dll from Sexlab Utility Plus. Thanks again for your diligent helpfulness.

I neglected to inform you that, after your report, I investigated Licenses' shutdown sequence and found that it was erroneously not shutting down the ViolationCheck quest. Which is why, if you had deactivated Licenses while the quest is running (which isn't obvious), the quest would become stuck active. Although I can't definitively say this hole caused your issue. If I did forget to add a changelog entry for my patches, your best bet would be to run through an issue replication process without those patches. This way, you can be more assured that the issue is actually occurring with that core version.

Did you downgrade Skyrim recently? You may have leftover files from SKSE or Skyrim, or from both, that are impeding proper functionality. Remaining troubleshooting steps I can think: Use resaver and check if your save file's internal mod list actually displays Licenses and SPP's plugins. If missing, that would mean the plugins weren't loaded even if enabled under your modlist. Open console and enter `getquestrunning BM_Licenses_MCM`. If output is anything but 1, that means the quest that creates Licenses' MCM isn't running or doesn't exist in the first place - which could indicate a lot of thing, really. At the least, something else in your modlist would be interfering with Licenses.
