That guy on the right looks like the actor who played Winters in Band of Brothers. In fact, I’m pretty sure that is him.

Speaking of, kinda sick of people saying BoB is the best thing ever.

Ambrose screwed the pooch in his research into where everyone ended up after the war which led to Albert Blithe's family having to point out that the man didn't die of his wounds in 1948 as the series states in black and white.  He corrected his mistake in the book but Hanks and Spielberg are too damned cheap to put in a page of text on the DVD/BluRay/reruns that state the man healed from his wounds, started a career at Westinghouse, re-upped for Korea, wining several medals, before dying on duty in Germany in 1967.

Band of Brothers is a biopic. It's going to have inaccuracies and things that were changed for dramatic effect. It's the way it is. You should always watch shows/movies based on real events with a grain of salt. By the way, this is coming from a descendant of a soldier who fought in the 101st Airborne during WW2. My ancestor knew some of the guys from the show, such as Sgt. Donald Malarkey.

I will say, however, that none of the mistakes in Band of Brothers are nearly as cringe-worthy as what James Cameron did in Titanic. The way he portrayed 1st Officer William Murdoch is just inexcusable. However, Cameron did apologize for this, so I'll give him some credit there.

Look, I can forgive Simon Pegg's terrible American accent, I can forgive David Schwimmer being Ross as a DI, I can forgive the planes falling apart over Normandy looking like something a student made in Blender 2.2 and the guy from Eugene knowing about streets in Astoria before he is killed by Lt. Badass, but refusing to remove a screen of text in favor of a screen of accurate text is just Hanks and Spielberg being greedy assholes.

Look, dude. If you think you can make a better show, then by all means go for it. However, your criticisms are quite flawed. The show came out in 2001, so of course the special effects aren’t going to be perfect. Also, things are going to be embellished because it’s a TV show. They need to make it entertaining. Finally, how is not changing 1 thing of text greed?

The show has motivated people to learn about the real events, which is how people learn about the flaws in the first place. This is why it doesn’t bother me.

Since nobody else mentioned anything about it(that I’m aware of) what is up with the saying: “If at first you don’t succeed try try try again”?

That is stupid. How about if at first you don’t succeed do something else because clearly you’re doing something wrong. At this point I expect Vaas Montenegro to tell me the definition of insanity for the fiftieth time. Also why does it say try three times? If you want to summon Beetlejuice that is not how you do it.

“Pain is weakness leaving the body” is one of the most stupid ass phrases I’ve ever heard. The whole point is to be “work through your discomfort and you’ll improve”, but there’s a very important distinction between “pain” and “discomfort”. “Discomfort” is felt when you go beyond what you’re used to dealing with in a manageable situation. “Pain” is felt when some part of you gets fucked up. Every guy I know (and it’s always a guy, cause women at least listen to their bodies in my experience) that adheres to this bullshit always ends up with chronic knee or back pain by the time they’re in their forties. If someone says this phrase, it’s like a dead giveaway that they’re a shitty coach/trainer that doesn’t understand fatigue management or physiology.

So many words that I ABSOLUTELY hate... "Woke" is the main one. When someone starts describing something as "woke", I roll my eyes and try not to kill them in the way I'm killing them in my head..."I'm talking" is another...when the VP starts interrupting folks with that, I want to slap the shit out of her. Interrupting folks isn't a great idea, birdbrain!

Any variation of "to be honest," "to be frank," "in all candor," "as we all know," etc. The speaker might as well just say "I'm spewing pure horseshit, here, so listen up."

- "Back in my day ....", "it was better back then", " this new generation doesn't know ..."

Come on, leave those kids alone. When i was a teen i was sick of hearing this all the time, and i despise it even more in my adulthood.

- " Do you live under a rock?"

Specially with social media trends, maybe consider the fact that we don't have the same interests and that's why i didn't hear about it.

- Alpha, sigma, beta

Do i really have to explain.

- " You're so calm and gentle, you wouldn't hurt a fly"

That's because I am summoning the power of god and his entire creation to not give you a taste of my fist.

> It became very popular here that girls/women say "my dear" to each other even if they do not know each other. I like it when my mom tells me that or my fran and my close friends and family but not when a total stranger tells me that. In most cases when a total stranger tells you that it is some addition to sound and look more polite or as a replacement for a curse or calling you an "idiot" if you said or did something wrong.
