Looks like youve been and are actively working on this, so im intrigued. Very glad that there is someone continuing to work on this. But I'm wondering. I see a lot of screenshots of elin that look slightly different or morphed or something. is this the effect of body slide? I'm only interested in elin that look as close to tera as possible. this is the body ive been using. Do your elins look like this? these also had shoes built in to the feet, so thats what they look liike with no shoes on. problem with using this old version is that it still has the clipped hands, feet, and sometimes hair.

People want to be able to easily use armors they like and not all of them are from Tera or inspired by them. Also bodyslide is highly popular especially with the new RaceMenu armor morphs, people want an Elin that suits their own taste. As for the pics you posted, are they the 'armors' that came out before there was a playable Elin race? Personally, I prefer the original body, the one that serves as the default body. PsychoMachina Posted October 28, 2015 Author Posted October 28, 2015 Btw, the issue I had with some of the Elin NPCs having dark faces and the game crashing when loading my saves was due to Mindflux' subsurface scattering patch which contains facegeoms of some of the NPCs. It was overwriting the Elin NPCs. Corrected the mod order in MO and so far so good.
LordKeima Posted October 29, 2015 Posted October 29, 2015 Sorry to bother, but how do I go about properly exporting facegen after I edited a NPC's face(in this case, Lydia) in CK? I loaded both the NPC replacer and AIO hairpack(loose files version) to change her hair to the twintails and did a Ctrl + F4 after I was done. The resulting facegen basically broke any saves with Lydia in it until I deleted the facegeoms and facetints. [TLDR] After tweaking her face and changing her Hair to the twintails. I did a Ctrl + F4 and managed to get the facegens to save. Started up the game, tried to load a game and CTD after a while of loading. Didn't take me long to find out the crash was caused by hdtSkyrimMemPatch with a Fatal error and a bunch of faulting modules involving TESV.exe and sometimes kernal32.dll. Took me an hour of disabling the esp I created for the modified Lydia, uninstalling and reinstalling the loosefile hairpack and twintail fix (the game only started breaking after installing these 2 mods) and loading saves to realise that creating a New game did not CTD, nor were the old saves where I had not met Lydia yet. The moment when the game crashed when I tried to spawn Lydia in one of the older non crash saves then did it dawn on me that it must be the facegen causing the problem. Went into Skyrim's directory and found the loose files for the facegens in "meshes\actors\character\FaceGenData\FaceGeom\Skyrim.esm" and "textures\Actors\character\FaceGenData\FaceTint\Skyrim.esm" which as why the game crashed even though I disabled the Lydia modification esp since these loose files get loaded into the game anyway. deleted them and the game stopped crashing, though Lydia now looked pretty stupid with a dark face. [/TLDR]PS: yes, I know those tags don't exist.
PsychoMachina Posted October 29, 2015 Author Posted October 29, 2015 I found out the cause for the crashing last night when I wanted to see what would happen when adding an HDT hair to Lydia. Blame the crashing on HDT. When you modify an NPC using Elin race v1.5, do not use the HDT ears/tails because that is what causing the crashing. You can use the ears/tails that come with the Elin hairs from the HAIRS slider, just not the standalone ears/tails that is chosen from the ADDITIONS slider, these contain the HDT version. The facegeom that comes with Elin NPC and Enemy stores the non-HDT ears/tails and when you try to update those NPCs using Elin 1.5, the new facegeom will start using the HDT ears/tails. If you wonder why if you change Lydia's hair without creating new facegeom the game loads without incident, it's because she continues to use the original facegeom from the Elin replacer mod even though she appears with the HDT (stiff) fox tail. I'll have to make changes to the Main race files to include the original, non-HDT ears/tails for use with the NPCs. In other news, I'm almost done with the all-in-one HDT hairpack. I'll try to upload them later today.
Mud Posted October 30, 2015 Posted October 30, 2015 I believe that goes for any NPC that you try to apply HDT to in the CK - it just doesn't work. I heard that people who wanted to make followers with HDT hair had to settle for making the hair a wig and including it as part of their base outfit.

Something about the HDT tail bones not being able to me mapped which will cause the game to crash.

The Elin Mods-Mega Links text file has been updated to include the download links to both HDT hair packs. IMPORTANT Some of the tight-fitting hairs will still clip on the sides. I'll see about fixing that with morphs taken from Elin 2. Some hairs do not have physics. Certain original HDT hair packs included static hairs. Some hair selections will not appear (bald head) if you do not have the Elin AIO hairpack (non-HDT version) installed. These hairs share the Numenume files from the AIO non-HDT mod.

PsychoMachina Posted October 30, 2015 Author Posted October 30, 2015 UPDATE Uploaded a modder's kit for use when creating followers or creating/modifying Elin NPCs. The kit contains 3 folders, HDT Elin Ears and Tails, HDT Elin Ears and Tails-Color Matching, and the non-HDT Elin Ears and Tails, and instructions. Basically, you install the non-HDT files before creating or modifying an Elin NPC. The non-HDT headparts will be stored in the newly generated facegeom thus preventing your game from crashing. After you're done, reinstall the HDT ears and tail files.

The only armors i use for elin are the ones from the summon elin ring mod. right now theyre the only ones that properly fit the body i use. Youre converting armors? awesome. Ive really wanted to get back into 3d modeling. if i had the skills now i would convert all the armors to the default elin body.

Everything appears to work when used with ECE, but I'm having problems when using with RaceMenu. Just so everyone knows I'm not using RaceMenu and ECE together. If anyone can help, I need to know if the Elins/updated Elin skeleton works with XPMSE 3.61 and the latest RaceMenu. I don't know if that's on purpose but I did notice that in the beast sliders only Tail #NAME# 1 to 4 modified the size of the tail while from 5 to 8 didn't change anything. Also tail lenght sliders didn't made much of a difference although maybe is just me not noticing it.By the way, is it normal for the HDT tails to become longer when running?

Thank you very much, LIzleihi. I now know the problems I'm experiencing only happens to me. I'll go ahead and release v1.7 by tomorrow. Each tail slider affects the corresponding tailbone. Example: Tail 01 Thickness will scale the Tail 01 tailbone; Tail 05 Thickness will scale the Tail 05 tailbone. Each tail uses a certain number of tailbones, ie., Bunny tail uses 3 (HDT tailbone 01 to 03) and Fox tail uses 5 (HDT tailbone 01 to 05), so if a slider does not work it's because the tail you have equipped does not use that tailbone. None of the longer Elin tails uses more than 5 tailbones so the Tail sliders 06 and higher will do nothing. I don't think the Tail Length sliders will matter much since the tails can also be lengthen by using the other sliders to adjust the scaling of each tailbone. The HDT tails should not stretch any longer than their normal length when standing still. It's one of those physics bugs associated with HDT, you are moving faster than the game can process the physics and the tail (affects HDT hairs also) stretch until you stop. Now I did not include the HDT Memory Patch with Elin v1.6 and the 1.7 beta. If you never had the tail stretching before updating to v1.6 then it's related to the Memory Patch. I'll add them back when I officially release v1.7. Hi. Starting with Elin Race Main v1.6, I'm using a different head mesh and face morphs. This is to fix some hairs clipping into the head, mainly from the front, top, and back. There will still be some clipping near the ears. This also will cause some Elin NPCs to have a dark face. I updated the Elin NPC and Enemy mod to v3.2 to include all new facegeoms to remove the dark faces. I also updated the TEXT file to include the download link. Groovtama made some changes to the skeletons so now the Elins uses a modified XPMSE 3.61 skeleton. Elin Race Main v1.6 is still available for anyone who do not want to use the latest XPMSE and required files for XPMSE. Color Match Edition for Elin 1.7 is also available.

PsychoMachina Posted December 11, 2015 Author Posted December 11, 2015 The pink forehead is caused by a Creation Kit bug when using custom face tints. The only mod you need to uninstall, at this time, is Elin NPC and Enemy v3.1 and continue with v3.2 until I fix this. I will also have to check the Hearthfires Elins and Serana, but this will take awhile because I'm not done building Lakeview Manor and I have not progressed with the Dawnguard quest.

When creating or editing an Elin follower or NPC, install the low resolution tintmasks BEFORE creating the new facegeom/facetints to avoid the off-color forehead bug. When done and before you start your game, install the high resolution tintmasks to remove the pixelated face tints. This is more of a visual preference of the user so this step is optional.

Q1. The CBBE textures from the Elin CBBE NewBody Texture Pack? A1. Try reinstalling or manual install. Extract the Elin texture pack, open the folder containing the textures you want to use, and copy the Textures folder then paste and merge with the Texture folder containing the Elin files. Q2. Any other CBBE textures? A2. Copy/Paste the texture files to 'Textures > Actors > 2chElin Texture Fix' and overwrite what files are there, if any.
