Skyrim AE for Beginners - V 3.1.0

I know it is not ideal, and you should always try to fix your load order before, but this mod helps with the dark faces issue until there is a patch for all the NPC mods you are using or if you don't want to put in all the effort to make your own patch for your specific load order.

I tested it with most of the mods in your suggested list loaded at the same time after fixing what I could about load order, and it works like a charm.

https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/42441

Just be sure to understand what it does and be clear it will be hidding many issues you could easily solve by just fixing your load order, but if you can't fix it by load order, here it is.

Thank you for all your amazing work all these years.

Enjoy

I think Simple Wearable lanterns breaks the lighting somehow. When there are a lot of NPCs with the lantern toggled on in proximity (for example 2 whiterun guards at the gate + whiterun outskirts npcs with lamps + Irileth's dragon hunting party spawned by quest) something dies in the engine and lamps and some other light sources stop emitting light which leads to fubar lighting everywhere not just outside. The only unaffected light sources are torches, braziers and camp/cooking fires. Candles, lamps, windows and weather/ambient light sources don't seem to work anymore. Sometimes reloading the save from main menu fixes the lights, sometimes it doesn't. I've tried using Community Shaders with Light Limit Fix - it didn't help. Running Rudy ENB + NAT + Lux setup from the list with the latest enb dll/modified enbsieries.ini by Aylis on rtx 4090 with the latest drivers. Any ideas how to fix it? Or removing SPID distribution of lanterns to npcs and starting a new save is the only solution?

You could try Optimised Script for Simple Wearable Lanterns - Toggle Hotkey by Borgut1337. I don't think it could hurt. Their mods are pretty good.

However; I don't use wearable lanterns. I use Quick Light SE (with (SJG) Quick Light Patch (based upon in game Torch values for light settings), and Quick Light SE - Settings Loader). So I might not be of much help.

Hello all,

first of all thank you for creating and maintaining this beautiful guide.
I had last year already times your collection on the run. Now I have reinstalled it for me and it actually runs everything great.
Unfortunately, but I seem to be missing a few textures. I have no idea where to look for them. Which mod is responsible for this.

Edit:

Yesterday I tried again to fix the problem. I reinstalled Lux, Lux Via and Lux Orbis and checked the loadorder again. Afterwards I have run xLODGen, TexGen and DynDOLOD again according to instructions. Unfortunately without fixing the problem. I also had the missing textures on cabinets and barrels. I was able to fix this by installing 2 new "Base Object Swapper" mods for them.

But I think this is only a temporary solution and does not solve the problem itself. Since just the horse saddle is still purple.

I think I deactivate all mods again and go through the modlist step by step. I'll report if this fixes the error.

A small question about the comment with the sorting. Sorting immediately after activation or only when all mods are activated?

After Reinstall all and Generateing LOD nothing changes ingame.

Firstly, @pandory, don't worry about anything to do with Dyndolod. The dyndolod is just for distant objects (I think it stands for "DYNamic Distant Object Level Of Detail", so don't waste your time running it when you have texture issues.

Leaving the horse aside for now, the main issue you're going to have with missing textures is likely to be in the "Foundation" Section, as that's where we're adding lots of the replacement objects and everything for the rest of the mods to use instead of the vanilla assets. So if I had missing textures, I'd start by reinstalling those.

But! Before I did any of that, I'd go to your steam app, right click "properties" on the skyrim app, and go to the bit for "verify integrity of game files" or whatever. It's very easy after installing and reinstalling mods to lose some original files, and starting by downloading missing files is the best start. After that, re-activate all the "Foundation" mods, and see how you're going.

@pandory I agree with advice from @lolthisis, plus, when I'm having a texture problem and I don't know where the texture comes from, I look for a new mod that specifically changes that item (if I can only find a mod that changes a lot of other things too, I might strip the other items out of it then install that), I use Vortex to manage my mods and when I install a mod that overwrites something else it warns me and asks me to confirm which I want to take priority, I presume Mod Organiser does something very similar, then you know which mod(s) is dealing with that and needs reinstalling, often a mod changes a mesh (like that rope looks like a mesh change to make it more 3D) but there's a problem with the texture that mesh wants to use, with a mod list this extensive there could be another mod changing the texture after the mod that changes the mesh, but this approach narrows things down pretty quickly ?

EDIT: I had a quick look and 'Horse Replacer' in the Creatures section would be the first things I'd reinstall for your horse problems, looks like two files to redo, or remove and check for problems without it.

I have now deactivated all mods in Foundation and reactivated them one by one. 2 mods I have left deactivated so that I remove 2 faulty objects.
But think that my problem lies somewhere else. Since the modlist is running on others.

With the saddle I have first fixed in that I simply remove the saddle from the inventory.

As I mentioned earlier, check  'Horse Replacer' in the Creatures section ?

I have overlooked your EDIT but smooth. Deactivating the mod has helped. The horses look normal again.

Now I just have to fix the other problems

for the ropes I'd start with mods like SMIM, reinstalling Foundation section will likely pick it up, good hunting ?

I constantly switch between first and third person. I noticed that if I ran out of stamina and the conditional idle for exhausted played I would see the top of my character's head if I looked down. Couldn't unsee it.

Enabling headbobs for idle in Improved camera's GUI, shift+home to access it, fixed it. Now the camera follows the player's head while the idle plays.

So how do I go about fixing the neck gap issue? What body should I build in Bodyslide? I tried building Vs cut but id didn't fix it. I turned the mods off and there are no neck gaps now, but I would still like to know how to get it to work

Some 3BA outfits built with V Cut preset will give you a neck gap. You can try converting them to V Cut (there is a guide on how to do it in description page of the V Cut mod on nexus).

Check your install of 3ba, I was having the same issue and started working my way through potential problems and found that the 3ba install was missing masses of files, no idea why to be honest though.

First of all thanks for the continued effort on the list.

I also managed to get the August NG update of Dyndulod working and resolve the LOD stuttering/flashing cased by the Large Reference Bug. https://dyndolod.info/Help/Large-Reference-Bugs-Workarounds

1. Continue to use the Resource SE download from the list. Check if you have the latest version of it.

2. Remove the Dyndolod SE scripts and DLL mods entirely. These should not be used anymore on AE

3. Download the NG update that allows the fix.  https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/97720

4. Set the NG update and the recourse mod to active (resource higher priority than the NG) and leave it like that. Don't turn it off after running Dyndolod, that will break the mod. This is an error in the guide, as far as I can tell.

5. Make sure to clean all your active plugins, including the Update.esm, DLC and CC stuff (not Skyrim.esm). I used the MO2 batch mod for xedit for this.

6. Run Dyndolod as instructed in the guide. "xLODGen Resource - SSE Terrain Tamriel" needs to be disabled first but you get a warning if you don't. If you get a warning stating "Deleted references: yes" you need to redo the cleaning as you missed/added a dirty plugin. Take care to enable the checkbox on the advanced page "Large reference bugs workarounds" in Dyndolod. Load the output as instructed also.

Are there any good tweaks to add a bit more light when inside caves and at night with the Rudy setup? In daylight it's great but at night it's a bit to much.

I have been trying to fix the errors for the last few days. Unfortunately, after that they always become as less.
Lastly, I have missing textures near stones in cities, missing bodies on some NPCs and other such small things.
I think I will make the modlist from scratch.

I think I need a lot of concentration and time to go through the list in peace step by step xD
My problem is I think with mods where no installation steps are given, that I install there possibly options too much or too little.

Try to follow the installation order suggested by Aylis. Many of these problems are caused by having the modlist and pluginlist disordered, erroneously prioritizing textures and meshes.

If you use ModOrganizer 2, take your time, create separators by naming them the same as the sections that Aylis contains (mainly because it will be easier for you to apply the updates that the list has been getting over the time) and go through the order one by one.

If there are no specific installation steps provided, just roll with whatever installer autodetects and don't select anything unless you added some mods not mentioned in the list.

P.S. And don't merge mods/patches unless there is a specific instruction in the list to do so.

I actually went through the list from top to bottom. Possibly I have brought there but also already what through each other. Have made over several days again and again. Therefore I think it is really better to do everything again from the beginning. And better to pay attention to the order.

I actually only work with MO2.   Have also made the individual subdivisions with separators. Let's see how it looks at the new start at the end.

But so far the race seems to work and i'll add it as an option to the guide.

Does anyone knows how to add keywords to items as a bundle? For context, i use Baka SLA and it requires for the user to manually add the correct keywords for the mod to work, thing is that by the nature of that it takes a LOT of time to manually add something like "bikini_bottom" to TAWOBA replacer, since the only way i know its to manually add the keyword to each item  on SSEEdit/XEdit (it takes hours)

So that, its there any tool or mod that allow me to select a few items and put the keyword to them?

If you're mostly just fighting with TAWOBA (remastered, 6.1), I know there is a mod here on LL that has all the appropriate Baka keywords applied (sorry don't have the link, but it is here somewhere).  There is also a similar mod for the Remodeled vanilla armor for 3BA, if you're using both.

But given how varied the Baka keywords are, I would guess there is no xedit script to apply them all... though I wouldn't be surprised if there is one to add the primary "erotic armor" trigger keyword.  But most other armors are less involved and easier to be done by hand.

Hope that helps a bit..?  :)
