The initial fade to black on the new quest dose not work for me . I just get stuck at a black screen.

Having made my way to Boethiah's shrine, it's Trials time...

I get the poison, poison the wine, pick a device and hit the counting game right on the mark.... but still fail.  Irkalla will ask if I had fun, but I cannot respond; then she drinks, falls over, and I see a prompt to break free. Irkalla then asks again about fun, and now I can respond, but cannot do anything to break free from device.  I'm assuming I need to get loose and finish her off but I dunno how...

Well I had some progress after removing and installing the mod again, first quest no issue, and now onto the gordian knot I had some progress. I

get tied to the X cross in the first cell and then nothing happens, Irkalla just stays there. And if i reload the game the X cross has disappeared but i still cant move.

There no crash nothing just I stay idle waiting for the quest to continue. Will try the new release now

That's a bug. It's a good idea to do a full save (not quick save) before each of those trials so you can restart them quickly. But, yeh, she shouldn't be asking again.

Try loading from a save closest to before you encounter her, then try a different answer. Each answer (accepting, denying, attacking, accepting but needing time to think about it) have different mechanics.

In the Trial of the Toy, while doing the counting minigame,  I can hit "E" to bring up a message box with my options (embrace or resist).  If I don't hit the E key, these message boxes don't appear, and once I've brought up a message box and made a choice, there's  a delay before hitting E can bring up an other message box.  This has lead me to hitting E repetitively so I can see these message boxes as soon as they are available;  I'm wondering if this is contributing to my difficulties with this quest.  I have attempted the trial multiple times and only once have I received the mesage box that lets me break free... and that time, Irkalla was nowhere to be found.

 

Up till this point I have encountered very few bugs and have enjoyed the mod immensely.

What is the challenge to complete the shrine? Are there things you have to do inside the maze before being able to clear the shrine?

Just press E on shrine. But you must have some devices on you.

I don't want to give it away, because it's much more fun to find out. But when you come up very near the shrine, and have to pass the challenge, it'll keep failing you in specific ways. But you can wear devices to protect against each way it fails you.

Lol dang it, being that specific takes the fun out of figuring out the puzzle 😛

Well sorry, i will edit that post. But you should know what to do with the shrine if you read every dialogue text.
For me at first my game bugged and i coudnt interact with shrine at all.

@Frayed Something i would mention about UD compatibility, i would recommend not using any devices from DD directly but you can perhaps clone them to the mod. You don't need to copy the DD's script files over though, probably.

 

For example piercings and plugs that are currently used. UD patches them, for example they can automatically equip more devices on player over time. They can also vibrate for 5 minutes straight... those unless you change MCM for UD. But there's still a matter of when did you intend us able to remove the piercing from beginning for example. I only took it off when i found a piercing removal key from some container with Cursed Loot. I don't think lockpicking it was option or i didn't check again.

 No luck nothing happens, have the other NPC walking around the room, i am on the latest update, @Frayed much nice with the new brightness.

Nothing specifically mentioned on here; but I've had a lot of experience with DCL and know it causes issues with a lot of mods.

Are you using LE or AE?

Hmmm. I'm using AE as well (though im on the latest patch). Sorry, then, I can't think of anything else.

It's possible there's a missing dependency - that furniture uses a custom keypress intercept, so you might be missing one of the mods that deals with that which maybe Frayed didn't know to list. But that's just a guess .

Edit: Oh, she's still in the room. Yeh you can't interact until she leaves. She talks to you, walks out, talks to a dude, there's a ground tremor, then she comes back and talks a little more. Then she leaves you with some entertainment and departs. That's when you can interact.

If she's still there, it's a bug and I don't know how that would get fixed.

Thanks for the help none the less , but there is something confusing me is Irkalla suppose to speak to you before you can actually interact with the furniture, cause after she says her line "put your feet and hands in here" or something similar that's where it stops

There probably are, but I'm not well versed in them. Somebody else might be able to answer that.

Not currently, as far as I saw. But perhaps if Frayed ever develops some post-Gordian Bind content... :)

This is good to know. I'll have to do some testing with UD myself at some point, but it's not at the top of my list atm. The devices in Trappings are a mix of completely cloned devices (inventory + rendered) with custom behaviour, clones of just the inventory devices that use DD's rendered devices and some default DD devices. Basically, I've only made copies when I needed to customize something. The piercing specifically are all original DD since I didn't need anything beyond what they offer already. So those use whatever escape chances DD uses, which should include a reasonable lockpicking chance. In general:

Lockpicking is intended to be a viable way to escape any device in Trappings with a non-zero lockpicking chance. There's quite a few lockpicks hidden around, and Walker supplies them as well if you need them. Allowing some basic escape mechanism to work also serves as a way to prevent softlocks if something bugs out.

 

I was also hoping that by setting things up this way UD actually would change some of my devices, since it does offer some fun mechanics. But having the plugs and piercings equip more devices is going to be a problem. I'm not sure if UD has some kind of keyword/flagging it respects for these events, perhaps that could be a way to fix it. If those events adhere to the dhlp_suspend event that should work (reliably from v2.0.1 onwards). But again, I'll just have to check.

Post me a papyrus log. From where things seem to freeze on you, I'm guessing a script threw a bad error and interrupted the scene, or the scene script got thrown out due to script overload. If it fails at the same time every time, probably the former. If so, the papyrus log should tell.

Not yet. I kept wanting to give him a bigger role, but it never quite fit properly. I've got some plans to expand a bit on him, but haven't worked it out yet.
