Question about adult modding

i would say skyrim le it has tons of adult content and runs pretty well on lower end hardware the only issue it seems it is more crash prone then skyrim se but it just may be me. but se has been seeing an increase of mods for it lately though. just make sure you dont update se to ae because a lot of mods will break due to changes if that happens just search unoffical skyrim special edition downgrade patcher. hope this helps

LE has more mods but SE has more advanced ones plus the added benefit of being generally more stable. Both have good selection and you can go with either.

SSE

I'm still using LE -- I spend increasing amounts of time backporting things.  If you are just starting, there is NO good reason not to use SSE.  At this point, there is very little that SSE isn't doing more of and better.

I'm starting AGAIN would be right to say, but this time rather for the adult content mods, so far I'm getting that SE starts to get good mods as well, so yeah, maybe SE is better for me...

SE. You can get most (not all) sexlab mods for SE by now, or an equivalent, though they really are all over the place so it's definitely not pain-free.

In my opinion though, the stability (And extra features) offered by SE makes up for the time lost digging all that up on the long term.

If you haven't done a full adult set-up before then definitely go for SE since then you won't know what couple of niches you're missing out on from LE anyway

The vast majority of LE mods can be easily converted to SSE by simply running them through CAO. Very few would require script updates, and most of the big ones have already been converted anyways. SE is more stable, capable of running more mods without crashes, and is 64-bits. The only "valid" reason I've ever seen anyone give to remain with LE is that some seem to think that ENBs look better in LE. I disagree personally, but there it is.

There are trade-offs between LE and SE.  Despite what some say, SE isn't that stable compared to a proper LE set up -- it all depends on the mods.  One of the biggest ways to increase stability for LE is to use an ENB.  Some mods will just freeze in SE.  They won't crash, but the game will just hang and there aren't any solutions for some of the problems.

Generally, if a mod was built with SE, then you should be good to use the SE version (and must if it hasn't been backported).  If a mod was built for LE and ported to SE, it will probably be good, but you should check the forum to see if there are any issues.

I personally have both LE and SE installed and switch between them as needed.  Unfortunately, there are a lot of mods for LE that haven't been ported to SE and require more work than just running them through Cathedral and the Creation Kit.  The authors of these mods are no longer involved in the modding scene thus it is unlikely their mods will ever be ported.  This goes for many mods on the Nexus as well.  So ultimately, it comes down to the collection of mods you want to use.

Just to give a specific example, I usually have Legacy of the Dragonborn loaded.  The SE version is 90% better.  However, I cannot use the magic mod (Mighty Magic) of my choice in SE and the author left the modding scene and it would require some rewrites to work in SE.  Three of the adult mods I play with work much much better in LE than in SE.

For body mods, UNP works better in LE and CBBE works better in SE. For me UNP works better with Devious Devices than CBBE (items tend to line up better).  Again trade offs and how much time you want to spend getting your mods working together.

My point is there really isn't a pat answer to your question.  It just depends on the mods you want to use and what you can live with while playing.
