People use the Reviews instead of Support, and it's rather annoying ​?​

It could be only me, but it rather annoys me that almost half the reviews are not actually really reviews but just support related questions / issues.

For example, there's literally a "review" on WickedWhims, where the guy/girl just 3* it and dumps the error log file, with a "help me". - IMHO, stuff like this should go to the "Get Support" forums.

 

Maybe a small banner could be added to remind people how to use the reviews properly. Something like this:

 

My other recommendation would be that if a review's "helpfulness" ratio gets under 10 or 20%, it should get auto removed along with it's star rating from the total average, this way the community could weed out ignorant and/or deliberately low starring "reviews".
(I'm not aware of there being already a system in place for this, but if there is, then I apologize ? )

I see the problem on people (inexperienced) using the reviews to ask for help.

(people also report mods to ask for help in some rare case.)

What is this site coming to tut! there are many who come to this site whom have no knowledge of the rules regulations site tabs and what not many will post asking for help in the section that portains to the mod download etc its bad enough having to deal with officialdom worshippers let alone now having to go to the correct section of the help tab within the specific file under a certain heading which you will find in section 23 of the said game item 56 code 3321, personely i prefer free will to seek what i seek wherever i may find help and if that means posting in the reviews section because i have been to this site only once before and hav'nt a clue about procedure i just want help and its driving me nuts ill go to the review section loads of peope are there and i dont know where else to go, cmon guys not everyone coming to Loverslab is a techhead give the newbies a break rant over lol oh and happy holidays to all at LL

Personally, I prefer people who can employ half-decent grammar and punctuation when they write something.

Right below the green "Download this file" button is a button that reads "Get Support".

You don't need a degree in computer science to look about an inch down do you ?

The support thread is literally under the download file button, since you have to download the file before letting the review, it's actually easier to find.

One of my favourites is when a new mod appears (and this happened yesterday or today) and one of the first posts is 'hey, thanks for the mod it looks great but could you tell me what that armour is in the second screenshot?' even though that has nothing to do with the mod. It must be soul destroying for a mod author.

I am almost afraid to ask what people think of people leaving reviews in the support forums!

 

One neat tool they have here at LL is  a report button with one of the categories as "wrong forum" .    It does make more work for the moderators, but it helps them sort things out.   So the good news is that there are ways of directing new posts to the right thread.

A couple of things:  If you are not a techhead, then surely you know how to use punctuation

 

I would also state that most people on LL are more on the techie side, though with Nexus going stupid and MAs moving here, we may get a wave of people who used to get their mods only from respectable site.    Coming to LL is like going into a biker bar.

Well, people are people.

Not sure if that can be prevented at all.  Of course, you can have netiquettes but i believe that it will not change people.

In the early days of Fido, you could get banned if you were an offender of sorts with not following the rules.

But every board has its own philosophy in that regard.
