MopHead Posted November 3, 2021 Posted November 3, 2021 Hey, so I’m new here. Literally my account isn’t even a week old as I’m typing this. With that said, I was wondering if mods on here; ‘Lovers Lab‘ and mods over on ‘Nexus mods’ can work together just fine. Each site has some mods that the other either doesn’t have or are really hard to find. Because of that, I was wondering if mods from each site can work together just fine, because it’d really spare me a lot of time if they did I feel like. However, they won’t like break a game, right? If so, even if the mods semi-work together, is it recommended? I hope my question here came across as understandable, an thanks ahead of time. Edit: I’m looking to mod Skyrim LE & maybe Fallout 4, sometime in the future.

There is nothing inherent in either GROUP of mods that preclude using them together. That being said, there are often individual mods that don't play well together but these occur everywhere. In short, every Skyrim user here uses some Nexus mods and many of the mods here require one or more Nexus mods.
Gukahn Posted November 3, 2021 Posted November 3, 2021 (Edit: Didn't even saw what game you want to mod.. welp the first part still stands xD) Just look out for mods that might do similar or exactly the same things and don't mix those together, like for example 2 Follower Frameworks would break something, choose only one ect. You can also mix 2 NPC Apperance overhauls together as long as your Load order is set up right. usually the first thing you should to is read every up to date guide you find on Loverslab as they give you not only infos about Mods here, but often also mention and explain Mods from the Nexus that are required for stuff here to work, also more then not you will find mods considered essential for a smoother play through mentioned and also ones you would never hear about unless you search exactly for them. So regardless of your mod choices, reading is the most important thing you will have to do now, see which Skyrim Version you have (Legendary Edition, Special Edition or VR.) and look for Guides for it here. Plus a Guide for the Mod Manager of your choosing, i recommend either MO2 or Vortex. Learning to operate the Manager is also very important. Learning how Mo2 works might be more demanding then Vortex (which i am using.) But essentially both are good and have their own benefits. 2 guides you can learn something from: Both talk about Mo2 but most of the infos you get are true for any Mod Manager. These two are for Special Edition (SE) See also for LE Even if you use SE, read the last one too as it gives you very good informations on how to work the tools you need and will work with later when you are more comfortable with modding the game.

And 'literally' you haven't had the wit to have a look around the site. Doing this may have resulted in you realising that there are mods for quite a few different games here on LL. This in turn may have prompted you to delve deeper into the section for the particular game that you are interested in and quite possibly answered your question. In the meantime nobody has an igloo as to which game you are referring.

t.ara Posted November 3, 2021 Posted November 3, 2021 First page for skyrim is SKSE and nexus. Lot of mods which are here BASICS also reside on nexus as well-one example is FNIS. If your plan is a dedicated mod from this page, you can collect the "must have to prepare" quite quickly by using the nexus page. Some other stuff like the skeleton-mod xp32(...)by groovetama or some few other stuff are quite meant to be a basic mod if you play with LL-stuff. Another important mod is the bodyslide-software and your choosen body: you can choose between a body which you prefer: CBBE or UUNP...this way I would go in the beginning. If you stay playing with male characters and if female characters are not in your focus, you can also let the game work without bodyslide as well. Some mods depend on each other but the authors of the mods mostly do explain what is necessary for an installation. I would go small steps forward and install a mod and look what it is doing. Modding SKYRIM successfully takes some time...a working setup without massive errors can be a challenge.
