closely at the new pics

I'm on Steam but there's no change to your pics from earlier days. Am I looking in the right place?

And, one more before I jump in. Should I use SSEEdit that is tooled thru Vortex or make a shortcut to the exe in the game folder and do it that way, bypassing Vortex.

Game cells? I'm sorry I don't know what those are or which mod uses them. I'm definitely not a modder, just a mod installer. I haven't the 1st clue how this all works.

If Vortex is managing your list of mods, my understanding would be that it would be like my MO2 - you should access SSEEdit through Vortex.

That said, not being a Vortex user I can't say for sure. I'd expect the SSEEdit Nexus page will tell you. But you may be like me, put off by walls of text!

Game cells are literally the map cells, like in a map.

This link is handy:  https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/2251/?tab=images   (it's in Skyrim LE but shows what I mean).

But the cells also exist in the game - invisible borders that you cross as you walk around. If there are corrupted meshes (caused by a mod) in a cell, then as you cross the invisible border into that cell, you get a CTD.  It's something useful to know when solving problems.

I just remembered (and looked it up), in game, you can bring up the console and type in TB. I think that will show you the cell borders in game. I've never tried it, though.  It's a toggle, so type it in again to switch that off.

Okay, nice. The goose bumps are still there. Got a good look while taking the pics. Nevermind. I took the pics anyway. so I have them if you want to see. She's not a "sculpted" PC but she looks damn good to me. My definition of sculpted means custom built face and body. I'm using a preset for her face and of course Sweet Warrior Body 3BA preset for her body.

I do. Running around Skyrim behind a bloke's butt all the time is kind of off-putting! Give me a young lass any day. ?

I do take screenshots so I'll see if I got any recent ones in my cesspit of a PC.

Anndd here we go:   https://postimg.cc/gallery/9w36wNk

She's wearing stuff out of the Peropero armour pack.  Warning: I have a 21:9 screen so I am not sure how these will display on yours.

21:9 hmmm. I have a 16:9. YES, young lass any day. Whole-heartedly agree. Nummy.  Cesspit? Do you need to redo the game?(re-install mods...etc.). How big is your screen? The bigger it is the more those kids running around can see it. Tough balancing act.

Ok. I selected "Compact forms for ESL" and a screen popped up that said, "nothing to do". What did I do wrong? Also, I went into Vortex and the esp is still listed as "Could be light" so I don't think anything happened.

No. I mean cesspit as in other content...ahem.

My character was a preset off Nexus. There's no way I can create faces like that. All the ones I did were variations of Frankenstein - after being run over by a truck.  So I rely on presets.

There are some amazing presets out these days. Anyway, your lady looks equally as nice!

You did nothing wrong. It just meant there was nothing that needed compacting. Usually when you run the script the information window will say compact the forms then change the header. If it does not tell you to compact the forms then you can simply change the header and save.

God, I feel like a 2 year old learning how to speak for the first time, an idiot. How do I "run a script"? How do I "change the header", Remember, I'm not a modder, I am an idiot. I'm sorry. I tried to learn this stuff while modding FO3, but it didn't sink in.

Sorry - cross posted!

Those pictures from SSEEdit on page 4 will show you how. Don't forget to go though them from bottom to top because they got rearranged when I loaded them up.

Once you've done it a couple of times you'll be confident.

SSEEdit has a load of scripts that come with it. When you right-click on a mod in the Left Pane of SSEEdit, it opens a menu and you choose the "Apply Script" option. When you click on that option you'll get the list of all the SSEEdit Scripts up, and find the one about checking ESPs to convert to ESL.

Here's a picture:

Ok, got it. That's done. Now, "change header" and save. I pulled up the right-click menu and I didn't see anything about changing headers, is that in another sub-menu. There are a bunch to choose from. Just looked again, I have no idea, I'm sorry.

I'll grab a screen shot....

(Sorry for the delay - cat needed feeding...)

Just open the mod up in the left pane and click on File Headers, or just click the Mod name - it will show the same screen.

(By the way - that's not a recommendation to ESL UIExtensions! Just an example...)

Right, right, gotcha. Took me a min. to see that. Sorry about MY delay, I was cleaning up my Win 7 mach., prepping for FNV, GOG, NMM mod run. No Steam, no Vortex, uninstalled them. Had to get NMM out of Program Files (x86). Still transfering mod collections to a safe place before uninstalling Vortex.

Alrighty then!(I like saying that). That is done! I'm not sure how to test it since I haven't gone anywhere other than the prison cell... yet. Would just a game start with my existing save game work?

I can't tell, to be honest. It totally depends on what you had previously, and what you've done with it.

Have you moved Skyrim SE, too?

Oh - am I getting confused with something you were doing with FOV that's separate to Skyrim SE and Vortex?

Glad your ESPFE files are working.  They should 'look' like ESPs and behave like them, but are flagged ESL in the file headers.

So long as the extension is .esp in the Load Order, then all is good.   If the extension is .esl, then that means they are acting as Masters, and that can be a bit of a nuisance with some load orders.

It's on this comp. . With Steam and Vortex. Steam is in my E:\Games folder. Vortex is in my C:\, in it's installed folder. Black Tree Gaming.
