First, make sure you have all of the required mods installed and in proper order.  Make sure you run the FNIS Generator.  If you have not done so, that is likely the problem.  I have been using this mod for months and never had an issue with the bathing scenes.  Also, if you have TESVEdit, use it, as it might show a mod is out of order, causing problems.  If you do not have BOSS and TESVEdit, get them.   BOSS will, for the most part, put your mods in proper order.  Then run TESVEdit.  Sometimes BOSS gets some mods out of order.

Have you got Privacy turned on for bathing? If so you won't be allowed to bathe if anyone can see you.

Also if you have any mod that changes the water in Skyrim bathing might not work anymore.

confirming what pritster said above.  If you have water mods like WATER, WATER 2 etc. they will break the bath animation.

I've found that if you order BOSS to place PN AFTER the water mod, you can bathe again.  However, this will break the water mod textures.

But note that you can still bathe in any natural water body that is right near/next to a waterfall.  I've been able to bathe indoors in places like the Cistern in the TG next to the waterfall by my char's bed or Mercer's desk.

I've also been able to bathe outdoors like next to that waterfall behind the Riverwood Sawmill.  Or sometimes at the waterfall in the rapids at Whiterun.  But this is unpredictable and especially if you move away from the waterfall area.

It used to be that my char could bathe just about anywhere--spnge bathee by standing on the ladder in the Riften canals, in the frigid waters on the coast of the SOG, in the lake outside Riften, in Whiterun sewer area etc etc.

But since the Water mod got updated, I began running into all kinds of issues.  But TBH this might have something to do with the base game updates.  Because my game worked fine at update 1.7.  Everthying appears to have gone to hell with my mods since Beth updated the game since then :/

I have privacy turned off but every time I try to pee or poo inside it says "you cannot do that here" but only in interior locations. It is supposed to be like tat or is this a bug?

Yeah, I added that in because I didn't feel like the player should be allow to pee indoors, but the decision wasn't well received. It will be changed in 3.0.

Also, here are some screen shots to the new dirty visual effects.

She wasn't to happy when I made her a model for the dirty effects.

Here's a close-up.

She's felt a little embarrassed afterwards.

PS: The wet shiny look is not part of Private Needs. It's the Sporty Sexy Sweat mod I think.

PSS: Not yet included. Will be included in 3.0.

So will this require installation of the sporty and sweaty mod as well?

I'm somewhat concerned by the extra number of supporting mods required to run the 3.0 PN version.  Because I'm at the 240 mod limit and adding PN with its supporting mods could bump me up fast to that limit.  I also haven't installed my custom home mods (which I need to adopt 6 HF kids yet).  So far I'm understaning 3.0 will require these:

PN .esp

ZaZ animation .esm

Strotski toilet resource  .esp

RND compatibility patch for RND users <--will this be necessary if you only want to use the bath animations and DON"T use RND?

CBBE/Natural Male/Natural female body mesh mods or similar mods

So that's at least 4-5 esps I could think of off the top of my head. I'm really hoping the RND .esp won't be mandatory for 3.0, because like I said, not everyone uses RND.  A lot of ppl use IMCN or simpler RND mod versions like Bathe, Eat, Sleep.

Also would you please consider making the defaction module optional like before? There are lots of us who may want to keep this purely optional for game mechanic reasons.  I had a really bad experience using this module. My char was at lvl72 when I turned it on in MCM for the 1st time.  Big mistake.  After 2 game weeks, the defaction module totally bugged out.  My char had a really bad constipation bout. I used a laxitive but he was still constipated.  So I think I opted to have him "force it out" while in an outhouse.  That's when the mod script went haywire. My char began defacating on a 24/7 basis after this.  I tried to reset the module but no effect so I disabled it in MCM.  But then this apparently caused him to begin urinating on a 24/7 basis as well.  :(

So I was forced to restart a whole new game from Helgen as a result.  Very painful.  I love the mod and miss it immensely for the bathing and pee/defaction options.  I don't really need the tons of animations that ZaZ provides, just those 3 basic needs.  While I'm looking forward to the improved version of 3.0, I'm terrified what potential havoc this more complex scripting PN version will wreck on my heavily modded game.  Or dumps it might end up making to my overspammed papyrus log.

I wish Beth had designed the game engine better to handle complex mods the way they did in Oblivion. Or at least make it so that the game can access all 24 GB RAM sitting on my rig instead of being limited to a measly 4GB.  :(  Ah well.

I know that there is a new version on the way, but still I have a question related to the current version, in this case about the RND patch:

Drinking from a water source (river, lake) generates a debug message "something went wrong". I suppose the script for handling this is PN_RND_DrinkFromWaterSourceScript. But for this particular script, the creation kit does not offer the option "Edit source" (For other scripts of the PN RND Plugin, this option works fine). Could this be the problem that generates the "something went wrong" message or do I just need a trick to open this script ;) ?

Great mod.

But it would be much better if it had clear facial expression. I tried changing facial options several ways but I don't see any differences :(

Or maybe I've got some problem with installing it.... anyway, what i want to hear is about facial expression of this mod. Are you on the way to develop it? or have any different idea?

(+ When I use defecating, I don't see any change of facial expression. It is quite clear because I see changes on face when using pee.)

Meh cant wait for 3.0 ^^

But Richard, i have a question:

(warning my english sucks)

Shouldent it be possible to add a bit more permanent punishment for bursting then just loosing health?

While waiting for 3.0 i played a bit around with your scripts of 2. etc. (im kinda understand now how scripting works)

Anyway, shouldent it be possible to abd something like reduced bladder volume each time you burst?

As i saw theres this getvalue.setvalue(-number) option you can do.

I tryed it by setting urinepoints per hour to 250 when i burst and it worked.

So shouldent it be posible to do this with the urinelevel?

for example if you burst, you loose 20 on each level and if you urinate succselful you gain 10 back, but if you urinate at urine lvl 1 you still loose blaldder capacity

(the logic behind this is the bladder is a muscle and if you dont use it it gets weaker and if you overwork it it gets sore and if overoverwork it it gets damaged)

But setting somehow a cap of a maximal bladder volume by 180,290,390,500,600 and if you keep bursting that you basicly keep loosing bladder capacity but it stops at  10,40,80,120,150 (but i dont know if its possible to do a script like that)

If this dosent make any sense then i guess i didnt understand it at all xD

Ps:

Ok after trying around a bit imanged to do this ^^

Everytime i burst i loose bladder capacity, but do not go under a special limit, and everytime i urinate i gain half of that amount i lost.

to shorten it up i need to urinate 2 times to recover from 1 burst, but i cant go over a maximum amount of bladder capacity.

So Richard if you could include something like this in 3.0 and make it in an mcm menu to activate or not that would be great :D

Putting in my vote for modder's resource functions that modify the urinePoints and excrementPoints, or at least set them to zero and set the timestamps.  I'm adding inter-compatibility with PuppetMaster for myself (both mods have a certain amount of focus on bodily functions), but it'd be convenient if the mod supported such possibilities transparently.

Tried this nad it is a very nice mod..grats.

one question though. After the char defocates, the remains stay there and are not deleted over time.. If this mod is used for an extensive period of time, all those remains laying around could lead to a save bloat. is there a way to have them deleted after a while?

Well, a work around is to use the outhouses as much as possible.  There is one on LoversLab called Outhouses of Skyrim and has PN as a master file.  I have made one similar for Solstheim and will be making some for the three Hearthfire houses (actually already have them made, but need to redo them). Also have mod created similar to my Solstheim mod for Dawnguard.  Richard has been very supportive in my creation.  I am waiting on version 3 to come out so I can update my mods.  Also, once done I will be submitting them to Richard for posting on his site, after all, my mods would not be possible without his aid.

I just pick up my crap and take it with me each time I take a dump. I got all of it. No save bloat here. :D You could probably just target it in the console, click it, and type 'disable', making it disappear, but I'm not sure it's actually gone then...I just clean up each time.

It's kinda weird when you take a dump and someone walk pass you without saying or doing anything to you, should add something like they will kick you and you will get constipated or some embarrassed effect.

Some sound effect replacing the text would be nice like you will fart once in a while when your bowel starting to get full (no idea for pee), like RND yawning thing.

I may have to get started on that. :D Maybe a small fart every 15 seconds when the bowels are full. Walking speed should slow down a ton as well. Maybe unable to run while holding in full bowels (I know I wouldn't be able to run...safely). :P

I will just make a clean install when (and if) I see that the save game is getting too big. That will delete everything :-)

I don't think it's a good idea. Those things are baked into your savegame and "clean install" would only confuse the game even more and create more errors and bloat ("clean" anything doesn't exist in skyrim ^^)

But there is a way author could deal with ummmm waste disposal. Unofficial patch uses a script like this to remove ashpiles from the world when cells reset:

Scriptname a_MMM_RemovalScript extends ObjectReference

{Basic script to remove objects on cell detach or cell reset.
- Martigen.}

EVENT OnInit()
    DeleteWhenAble()
endEvent

EVENT OnReset()
    DisableNoWait()
    Delete()
endEVENT

Thank you for releasing this mod. I took the liberty to take all the assets, write some scripts to bind everything together and release a "lite" version called Private Needs Discreet. You'll find it on this site.

http://www.loverslab.com/files/file/948-private-needs-discreet/

This is for people who are closing on the mod limit or want a version that don't impose mandatory "needs". Basically, my version is for people who just want the animations and nothing more.

Thank for your hard work Richard, appreciated.
