Was it? I played since .. I think early versions (2.x or something) with indarello's patch always and never had any issues. So I think NR should be working fairly well with it.

No, the papyrus compiler is quite the same thing. It's just that there are other ways to invoke it apart from CK (and from what was said about the scripts length limits - it'd be a far better way of doing it)

 

I just the classic setup of NPP and a plugin for it. I compile scripts with just a hit of one button + I enjoy the syntax highlighting. I wouldn't want to go into details on "how" - because that's be repeating what is already written well before me. You can find it on the CK wiki. Btw, the wiki itself should become a handbook for any modder (yes, I hate CK, but I've read the manuals through and through).

Oh, I see. I prefer to invoke the compiler from the command-line anyway (old school programmer here so used to calling cc or similar from a shell). The only way I was able to find to legally obtain PapyrusCompiler.exe was by downloading the CK though, which is what I ended up doing when I first started modifying some scripts.

 

Edit: Oh, and also I wasn't able to find a legal way to get the base game script source bundle without downloading the CK either (and got briefly confused by the fact that the installer didn't automatically unpack the sources either).

In the beginning of my days of scripting I used Caprica. Unfortunately it really struggles with namespaces and such - so I opted for Zenimax compiler in the end. And yes - you'll need to download CK at least once to have that compiler in - but later on nothing prevents you from keeping it while removing CK (that's what I did). You'll also need the CK for the game sources, yes.

 

I'm also a big fan of consoles, yet IDEs were created for a reason and a minimal quality of life I expect from it is in-built compilation - i.e. the "one-button" thing. I wouldn't want to use console editors such as vim (my setup allows to run a lot of *nix shell programs) - or I'd need to create my own setup for it and I fail to see the purpose of doing that - the NPP does the job 100% already.

probably another mod you have installed.  This mod works without any other mods install as long as you have the required mods installed correctly.  So check for any mod that will change Nuka World or any factions.  Make sure you only have UAP Patch and no other patches that Nukaride does not install.  Make sure that Nukaride is the last mod in the install list.....it should show Nukaride, bathroom patch, and last, the High Heel sound patch.....these patches are installed by Nukaride if so chosen......no other mod should come after.  Hope this helps.

I did a playthrough of this mod a few versions ago and just recently started a new game after installing the newest version and ran into this interesting bit. I don't have any mods from what I can tell or recall that change things in Nuka World and even after leaving and coming back or going back to before I traveled here the problem persists. Honestly don't know if this is a bug with the mod or my nuka world got borked in some way. After typing this out I'll try starting an entire new game again to check. I have a strong suspicion and it seems to me that this happens because you have cleaned the Nuka World DLC using FO4Edit. I see your list of mods and there doesn't seem to be anything special.

 

Solution: Download the DLC again and don't "clean" it.

 

Let me know if that's it, because throughout this topic there was 1 user with this same problem but he never let me know if he solved it.

I have seen many reports of crashes during Lucy in the Sky, but none where you describe. If you have a buffout report it would help clarify the reason.

This indeed DID fix it. Just went in to the "Manage DLC", unticked and ticked Nuka World again, and after the download finished the stage was back and uh, stagier than ever. Thanks a bunch!

I've had the same thing, crash when I talked to Mason about being a Wolf in my first run, it was because of a wrong installation of buffout. Check this it worked for me.

I have the same issue. Doing the mule quest, and there is no Nelson Latimer at the waypoint. I don't remember doing any quest related to him, but after reading wiki, he's an NPC used in Diamond_City_Blues. Unfortunately I decided a long time ago to tell the starting NPC to solve their own problems, which probably made the game remove him from the world? dunno :( I've tried doing a placeatme, but he won't talk to me, as if he's not part of nuka ride quest.

 

Any chance of fixing this somehow?

It seems to be a common behavior for NPCs who were resurrected. I did not expect that.

Right now the best thing is to win it via setstages.

But, if you want to experiment a bit, do this.

He is already alive in your save, right? Write: 

 

SetStage _NukaRide_Mule 1100

(with this you win the mission and the Quest is reset)

 

SetStage _NukaRide_Mule 30

Hm.. trying to reject Jesse's advances during the "Lost In Jungle" quest leads to a situation when the quest is impossible to progress normally? When Morgan sends to talk to Jesse about the tree house he just brushes PC off and I've checked the conditions - all works as designed, the line appears at stage 250 (Morgan sends PC to him) if the stage 170 was not done (going with him to the Pack band), so.. is this indented? I mean, that the quest is impossible to progress if PC declines Jesse?

 

EDIT: Looks like it's still possible to just go get the outfit.

Yeah, I just forgot to take the marker out of Jesse's head when he turned you down. So it's up to you to find the clothes.

Yes, makes sense. All worked out in the end - apart from the thing where PC rejected Jesse there was an endless "loading screen" issue (failed IMOD fade-out). That one is minor though, since it can be fixed with the usual forced cell reload, like

 

14.moveto 14

 

- same thing didn't occur when Jesse wasn't rejected.

 

Another stuff is about the clone:

 

1. Awesome job on inheriting the doppelganger from the AAF one. This means that my patch for unique player worked out of the box. I was like - okay, clone? Jeez, it's going to be an obvious fake because I play with the unique body for PC. It was a really pleasant surprise the doppelganger inherited everything from PC

 

2. At the same token, specifically because the previous point worked, it led me to some .. unpleasant lore-wise inner thoughts. Before discovery of the clone, PC was enjoying her "unique" position (thanks to unique PC body mod) of being a bombshell actress. Now though - it was no longer the case which led to the following thinking: with the PC clone available, who would actually want to have PC around? Unique body was just a trigger of thought, it's irrelevant in the general lore context, it's an overall discovery that the clone is just a superior version of the PC - clone doesn't need to drink or eat (why though? in-lore synths need that), clone will not age (in-lore synth property), clone will not get fat or out of shape (in-lore synth property), clone will always do as she's told (programmed that way), so.. I just fail to see why anyone would still want PC around? Neither Corsican or Charlotte nor Overboss or Mason would choose PC over clone for any reason as far as the narrative goes atm. So it would make the PC really.. afraid of what's to come. Especially if PC is not a smart one and it's just a defenseless submissive girl fully dependent on her bosses. All PC had to offer before was her beauty and looks (at least as far as the lore of this mod goes) and now there's another girl who has the exact appearance and has to offer a lot more on top of it.

 

3. It'd be really cool if it'd be possible that the clone agrees to come to the PC's apartment on a permanent basis. Because - first, there's already too many folks hanging around at the studio (Lucy, Cito, Charlotte, Corsican, Adolf - all in one room. we can also count Apollo) and - second, it'd just make sense. If PC accepts her as a "sister" then it's natural for them to live together or at least have an option to do so.

 

4. Since you used the AAF doppelganger as the actor base for the clone, it's impossible to do any cosmetic edits to the clone (like change her hairstyle) - it's be cool to make it possible. Would be really nice to have a clone with different eyes color and hair.

 

5. And lastly, I liked the way you reuse some of your previous references or actors. The doctor being a fan from one of the letters is a really nice touch. So as a wish for future - keep the clone involved into the plot with PC, it'd be very interesting to see. I would like to see her more than just a "generic AV actor #6 in the studio room". Perhaps some quests to dispel PC's worries I described in the #2 above? Or.. to confirm them.

Hi, JB. I identified a weakness (I won't quite call it a bug) which can cause the game to hang forever, but I also figured out a work around as well. I'm going to put the comment in spoiler so that anyone who hasn't done the Mayor McDonnel motorcycle quest won't see it unless they get stuck.

 



Last playthrough when the mayor came down the elevator to talk to me (not in his office) and then took me to get whipped, the screen blanked, I heard the sound of whipping, and then the black screen hanged forever, though I could hear people eventually walking around in the background. Forever. Eventually I did a "player.moveto player" to break out of the black screen and saw my AAF clone there, so I knew whatever went wrong was AAF related (though not necessarily AAF's fault). I turned my clone into a follower and found the mayor and continued the quest normally.

 

When I got to the end of your whole version 4+ storyline it was such a beautiful ending I decided to retire my character and start a new one from scratch. And, of course, she started the Nuka Ride story again.

 

When I got to the motorcycle quest with Danny I again selected the options that would bring the mayor. I wanted to see what I missed last playthrough.

 

Standing next to Danny, the Mayor said he'd take me somewhere else, the screen blanked, then the screen unblanked for a bit and showed me on an X-Frame. It had the sounds of me getting whipped and gave the whip overlays, but the Mayor was nowhere in sight. Then the screen blanked again and hanged forever. Forever :)

 

But this was a clue. That the Mayor was not there was significant. It suggested AAF was hanging while waiting for the Mayor but that the Mayor was not in the cell.

 

So I reloaded to when the Mayor came by Danny, and this time I used the console to get his reference ID.

 

The screen blanked into a loading screen, and this time as soon as I knew I was in the new cell I typed: moveto player.

 

This time when I was on the X-Frame, the mayor was there and started whipping me. And this time when the screen went blank again, it un-blanked and showed the Mayor raping my character.

 

In both playthroughs I did the Motorcycle quest with the mayor on a new enough character who did not see the Mayor give his "I am not a synth" speech. I suspect that what's happening is the mayor is running off to the stage to do his speech and is leaving the cell.

I think this is the problem, the Mayor has a more important package than Nuka Ride at the moment (when he is with PIper at the entrance).

The solution is to talk to the Mayor and Piper first, let the Mayor walk away, and then go to Sullivan.

The Mayor's speech doesn't have a higher priority than Nuka Ride, so from then on there will be no problems.

I'm glad to read that you enjoy it, I always write down your suggestions. At one point I thought of moving the sister to the apartment, but it requires countermeasures (creating a package so that she doesn't bother when the VIPs visit the apartment, that she be at her place of work during the day and that she only goes to sleep, which leads to only being able to film with her at certain times).

 

Since I had other priorities, I left it for another update. Because I have one more little quest planned with her and at the end of it we can make her move in with you.

That's great to know. I believe apartment is spacious enough for two tenants. Oh, while I'm at it I remembered that during the fight between doctors the "bad guy" actually won and I had to resurrect the "good guy" to progress the quest stage. I think it's safer to rely on <protected> flag for the "good guy" rather than hoping he'll beat the "bad one". (And you're killing him at the end anyways)

Didn't help unfortunately :( There are 2 Nelson Latimers to spawn:

And doing these steps with both results in them still not acknowledging any mule quest, though the first one tells me to go away and not bother him, since he's is too important, and the FF000EF8 one spawns naked, and doesn't react at all.

Also, dunno if it helps with diagnosing this, but the waypoint is always on the ground and never attaches itself to the latimer:

- talk to him -> he tells me to go away

If he is there it is because not even his package works. His package forces him to go to the greenhouse when the quest starts stage 30.

 

I never experimented much with dead characters. I thought that by resurrecting them you could use them again, it seems obvious, but it seems that is not the case. In the same way there are 6 missions of the mule and apparently you can do 5 in normal conditions, which is the minimum to get the scooter.

 

Anyway I think Nelson delivery is by far the most humiliating of the 6 , so it may even be good for your character's mental health. ?

You can test it quickly. I think it's a good idea.

I also have a similar problem, sometimes its when loading to nukaworld for the first time, sometimes it when I approach the main entrance and sometimes its when I try to talk to Shank. I even tried to use a minimum amount of mods and it still CTD.
