Preston hair clips his hat and coat

The top of his mane should be hidden while wearing headgear so it doesn't clip, and any remaining clipping should be minimal. You can only have one "under-hat" shape for the hair and not all hats are identical so you have to find a compromise that looks okay-ish with most of them... but it will have some clipping or weirdness with certain items.

As for the coat clipping, there's not much to do there other than either making the mane noticeably shorter or manually adjusting it so it looks "okay" with the coat (but then it'll look weird/floaty when naked or wearing other outfits), neither of which are a good idea here IMO.

the overabundance of uncanny valley-ish deer and horses.

The deer heads are pretty much 1:1 with the Skyrim version (pencil necks forced by Bethesda's retarded design choices in FO4 notwithstanding), so that's probably just a poor choice of facebones values on the Furrifier Script's part. Don't think it's gonna be changed much but at least the upcoming version of the Furrifier should be way more restricted on the max values it can use and thus result in much less weirdness.

Horse heads are more of the same with some actual weirdness on the base head mesh slapped on top; not quite sure why but the shape got changed in the jump from Skyrim and it's... not great. I had to adjust it back to Skyrim-ish size/proportions for a custom character port and I think the result looks better than the current one, but I don't know if Bad Dog ever plans to look into it or make any changes himself.

How do I choose which race I want to play as?

You could try reading the mod description. That's always a good idea, but doubly so in this case since the info is actually there.

To play as a furry:

  • FFO-Player-*.esp: Enable the one (only one) that corresponds to your desired race. You can't change race in game.

everything else the npc mod effects is fine, just ghouls. so how can it be the load order?

ive also placed it at the bottom of my load order for models in MO2 like it says to so thats ruled out.

Both if you have DLCs. Because one is for regular game and the other is for DLCs.

In that case, I have no idea. In 99% of cases it is caused by incorrect load order. Another mod overwrites files and causes mismatch.

Bad Dog recently updated to 3.0 so now there's 4 npc files some labeled as large and other labeled as normal so how do i know which one to pick since they haven't  updated the description yet?

I didn't notice that. I don't think it matters. In the smaller file, the NPC textures are in a higher compression, otherwise there shouldn't be any other difference.

LARGE packages use 2k diffuses and 1k normals and specs for NPC facegen textures. The ones with no suffix (i.e. the default ones) follow the vanilla standard of 1k diffuses and normals and 512 specs.

LARGE files will have more detail on NPC faces but the archives are very big, will take ages to download, and are very likely to get rate-limited by Google so you might not even be able to download them for a while. Normal files may have slightly crappier-looking faces but should be way more manageable.

Do note that this only applies to NPCs, the player will always use full-resolution textures regardless of which NPC file you download.

Just installed the new 3.1 version over FFO from about a year ago and one of my Just Business slaves is now a cockroach, race entry and everything. lol

(No this is not intended as a bug report, just a fun remark)

Seriously thanks for another update. It's nice to give (F)FO4 a spin every now and then.

I'm having issues with the character creation at the beginning of the game. I've been using this mod for along time and haven't had any problems with it until now. I've updated this mod to the newest version which is 3.2 as of this reply. For some reason when I try to change the different type of nose, eyes, etc. the option is greyed out and won't let me change it. I don't know if this has to do with LooksMenu or something else but I would like to know if I messed something up or not. Love the mod BTW.

Since installing the updated mod, I've had a lot of trouble getting NPCs to remain furry, and everyone ends up in tighty-whiteys.

I ended up doing a complete reinstall, where the only mods active were the Furry Fallout mods. Got that working.

But if I install _any_ other mod, even one that seems unrelated (Homemaker, SKK, SOE, Scrap Everything), all NPCs revert to human, and everyone ends up with underwear.

The only fix I have found so far is to reinstall all of the FFO mods every single time I enable any other mod. Changing load order does nothing. When the problem occurs, I can leave the entire load order unchanged, reinstall the furry mods, verify they are in the same order, and then it works.

Any idea what could be the culprit?

Why can't capture enemy or NPC with Human Resources mod? 1 years ago when I was playing with this mod, everything worked. I tried installing the new and old version of the Furry mod. I was able to capture the raider when I turned off FFO, made a capture, and turned on FFO again. I can't understand what's wrong.

You probably need a patch that adds Furry Fallout's races to the "Compatible Races" list from Human Resources.

I have since updated to the 3.3 version of the mod.

The odd behavior appears to have gotten worse, if anything. When I first installed, everything was broken again - all the NPCs had become troglodyte-looking humans, with the ugly underwear, along with the main character. Reinstalling did not fix the problem. Reinstalling with everything else disabled also did not.

I had to manually dig all the Furry Fallout files from where Vortex stored them, then reinstall everything from scratch. Now, if I load/reload within the game, everything works fine, but if I quit and restart - without changing anything - the bug reappears and I have to reinstall the furry fallout files.

I have noticed that the order in which I reinstall seems to make a difference:

I have to reinstall in this specific order to get PC and NPCs to render properly:

Furry_Fallout_V3.3.7z

Furry_Fallout_NSFW_V3.2.7z

Furry_Fallout_DLC_NPCs_V3.2.7z

Furry_Fallout.1.5.0.0_Bodyslide_Files.7z

If I reinstall in _any_ other order, it will not show the NPCs as furries, and everyone's in undies.

If I do that, it works until I quit and reload. If I quit and reload, everyone's wonky again.

I am also occasionally getting a message that says that the savegame was using FurryFallout.esp but it is missing, even though it's enabled in Vortex, and I can see the files installed via File Explorer. It looks like it's just not loading sometimes, even though it appears to be present.

I have triple-checked to verify that there is only one version available on the entire filesystem, and that there are not multiple copes/versions installed. I cleaned everything with fire and vitriol.

I'd say it was a conflict with another mod, but I'm seeing the same behavior even if zero other mods are present (i.e. I completely uninstalled all other mods, I didn't just disable them).

I only even started playing FF4 again because I saw there was an update to this mod! : )
