[mod] Character Body Overhaul

What a great detailed walk through, thanks man.

I'm also an amateuer who likes to poke about without true expertise, so it was perfect for me and really helped me understand the situation and how to change it, CHEERS!

@Mange2020 I 50/50'd my mods to figure out why I was getting emaciated people and it seems to just be incompatibility between this and PoD. I even tried replacing this mod with Simple Slits/Shafts and it was showing bodies fine with those. Any chance this is a known incompatibility? I assume it has to do with PoD's custom clothes?

Forgive me if this is still just an issue on my end or I've misunderstood anything, and sorry for the trouble.

Probably not an incompatibility, I think. It seems like that mod overwrites a bunch of files entirely, sometimes full overwrites are necessary but they create a high compatibility risk.

A quick look at that mod shows that it has a bunch of portrait modifiers that make characters skinny. Probably not too surprising considering that it's a vampire based mod. I set the skinniest a character can be 1.5x what you see in the base game. I mostly do this because if -50 weight is meant to be "malnourished" the base game's model seems relatively fine at that weight. But that means if the mod creator wanted a character to look like they are 0.5 gaunt in my mod they would be 0.75 gaunt.

If you want you could just use CBO Vanilla, or you could just delete the file char_body_overhaul\common\genes\weight gene

THANK YOU. You are absolutely right. The problem was happening because of tit traits. Your comment gave me an idea and I went through with it - problem solved!

I did some diggings with both mods - CBO and Carnalites. Long story short, I opened up Carnalities mod's 00_carn_tits.txt file and changed some value there and managed to solve the case. Now booby shape that I don't like is gone; replaced it with more preferred shape(for me, at least.) I get to keep my save file! I don't have to open another save that doesn't use tit traits. I know it's easy to change game rules with save edit but I perfer not to mess with it if I have to.

Thanks again! And sorry for the trouble.

Edit: One more question - is it ok if I use your updated Physical Attributes mod with Coetus Anima mod, which was uploaded August 22, 2021? I see that PA mod is updated recently but not CA. Or is there a plan for an update for CA?

I wouldn't use Coetus Anima at this point. I'm just beginning to update it, but it's gonna take a while to update. I kind of hit a wall on development of that mod a few months ago, but some of the things I wanted to do seem more possible with the royal court update but it will take a significant rewrite.

Good to know. Hope the update work goes smoothly.

I know I'm asking alot here, but is there any chance of you making an optional mod that automatically plays events similiar to Coetus Anima without the Physical Attributes' character seeding and Coetus Anima's "Fantasizing" method?

Say, if you are in a romantic relationship with a character, either lover or soulmate, depending on yours and partners libido, game will initiate a sex event. If you are having romantic relationship with multiple lovers, you got to have Lustful trait and high health value to "Satisfy" all lovers desires. I think there are Carnalities mods out there do the similer or at least some of the things I discribed, but they were one or two steps away from my taste - mostly automation of initiating an event.

By using Physical Attribute and Coetus Anima, I can use almost all thing above, but those "Seedings" and added calculations were slowing down my game alot in late game. My computer is kind of old... So I thought making the values/bases that mod needs for an event in Coetus Anima to a relationship flag and trait, them being a part of the game in the first place, would be more lighter to run. It's just my guess, I don't fully understand this scripting of CK3 modding, so all above is might not even possible at all...

Anyway, have a good day! And Thanks again for your comment. It gave me a breakthrough I needed to solve my issue.

Hey, I have an issue with the way the clothes look when using this mod. The bodies look great, and the animations also work without issues. However, all the various female clothes and outfits look really weird. It seems as if they make the women overweight while wearing them and also giving them massive breasts that cause noticeable clipping for some poses.

Is there a fix for this? I also tried running the mod without using any of the 2 clothes files, but then it only looks weirder.

I pointed this out to Mange a couple of weeks ago and this is apparently normal for the current version of CBO due changes Mange had to make to accommodate for 1.5.

 I’ve got my fingers crossed for a future update restoring the look of the clothes to the way they did in previous versions of CBO, but it sounds like a lot of work would have to be redone.

Does this mod affect custom character DNA? I made myself some time ago. Now my game crashes when I try to import the DNA strand back in.

Can someone please explain to me step for step how this code from the breast gene.txt works? especially this part here gives me headaces:

curve = {
	{ 0.0  1.0 }
	{ 0.25 0.0 }
	{ 1.0  0.0 }
}

i think its some kind of bezier curve? third order bezier curve?

what does it do?

Edit: NVM, figured it out:

curve = {
	{"age x"	"applied value a"}
	{"age y"	"applied value b"}
	{"age z"	"applied value c"}
}

as far as i understand it, this can only be used with a character in scope.

what this means is that at the age of "x"% of max age of 100, value "a" is applied to the character,

at age "y"% off max age of 100, value "b" is applied to the character and so on.

now i need to know what those applied values actually do.

and maybe i can get a little bit of help with limiting the maximum boob and ass size with which characters can spawn? its slowly getting rediculous with those melon sized boobs and the clipping arms that come with it.

also: womens' clothing looks weird as fuck, can someone fix that plz?

Does anyone else get a CTD when using this mod with CBO animations?

nvm seems like I needed to use the vanilla CBO instead of the other one.

What mods are people using? and in what load order? I'm new to the whole ck3 sex modding scene. It looks great but how do I make it work? Can someone send me a shopping list of mods? Much appreciated, thanks.

Does anyone know a fix to this? Should I redownload the mods or is it a load order issue? The only mods I have atm are Create Your Faith, Simple Religious Reformation, Faith Icon Overhaul, Shieldmaiden Game Rule, More Personal and Hostile Schemes for Intrigue Lifestyle, Ethnicities & Portraits Expanded, Vampirism and Lycanthropy (Nopes mod) and this mod the 2 clothing extensions, CBO Carnal Court and Carnalitas. Thanks in advance and I hope everyone has a wonderful day!

It's EPE, not compatible.

CFP is better- but still has clipping on larger body dimensions.

I'm troubleshooting this exact issue with the breasts popping out, and I'm having no luck whatsoever making it go away.  I even started a new test playset, using ONLY CBO, Clothes 1, and Clothes 2, in that order, and the issue still persists. For testing I"m starting a new game and having a look at Bjorn Ironside's wife Iliana.  She's always popping out.

---

So  I just went back to the CBO download files and tried the vanilla one, and that fixes it. So I guess I have to use that one. I thought the other was for users of CFP?  If it isn't then what's the regular CBO download for?

Quoted from the changelog:
"CBO Vanilla should be downloaded instead if you want the base game sizes"

"Is CBO Vanilla compatible with the other clothing mods?"

"Kinda? The blendshapes should mostly work together but that isn't the only problem
The mod has a different animation rig,
Since the clothing mods don't use that rig results seem to be unstable
Some articles of clothing work fine, others won't. "

"Tbh if you want to test it figuring out why some clothing works and some doesn't would be helpful
Having tested it it seems like CFP is mostly fine if its higher in the load order than CBO
EPE is not compatible has to do with the way EPE is coded and the number of files it overrights"

CFP or EPE (maybe both, i dont use either -prefer CBO and fucking HATE clipping) do cause quite a few cultures in the east to be naked by default, I think.

Funny thing, this is exactly what I'm planning on doing with Coetus Anima, same reasoning too. It's just unfortunate because such a big change means most of the old code doesn't work

Na that code means something different in that context. What you are describing are age presets. For that code the left hand side represents gene strength. The right hand side represents attribute value. This type of curve is new to the royal court update, the aging presents have been around since release that's why you found that explanation.

I don't use CFP and yes, it crashes for me as well, disabled all other mods except CBO, CBOclothes1 and 2 and it still crashes. Hopefully there'll be a quick fix.
