well, next stop fallout 4 then.

I saw the headline this morning before going to class. Thought it was just a really bad joke. :(  Goddamn it! I would've gladly paid another $20 for a Dragonborn-quality DLC that involved the Blades and the Aldemeri Dominion, I'd toss in another $5 if it came with the spears they showed during the gamejam. In the absence of the Thalmor-themed DLC, another one that allowed daedra worship would've been awesome as hell. I gotta say that I'm VERY disappointed that Bethesda called it quits after only 2 major DLC. The Aldemeri Dominion-Imperial Empire conflict had incredible potential for a great DLC.

Just wanted to share.  I'm a little sad personally, was hoping for the next DLC to have something to do with Elsweyr or maybe continue to expand on the things they touched in the last DLC.  Hoping to hear good news about the next big event over the horizon though is very exciting.

I might get hate for this especially from some of the die hard New Vegas fans, but personally I am hoping to hear about a whole new Fallout 4.

Edit:  This was NOT a post I made into this thread it was a thread I made a little while ago without knowing this one already existed and I was not notified mine was merged with an already existing post.

They are most likely moving the developers over to Elder Scrolls Online because every time they patch Skyrim they always fuck something up

Also a thread about this was already made here Foggy.

it feels so unfinished to me only to say: ok thats it, thx to all buyers...oh and get our new game in stores in fall or winter this or next year :(

i wanted to bring the battle to the thalmor (like the most of us) or know why i crossed the border in the beginning (yeah i know, roleplay stuff, but a little backgroundstory would be nice^^ )

To be fair, even in Oblivion we still don't know why our Player Character was thrown in jail. xD

It's kind of an ongoing theme Bethesda has always done in TES games since... Morrowind, I think?

Just like what happened to tv in the past instead of free went to Cable, Satelite with monthly subscription fees. The direction computer software is now heading. Monthly fees for access to your storage and software. The gaming industry wants the same revenue stream isolating you from your product. Limited mods. The first step is Steam next your software will mostly be online. No money no fucky. And stupid ass sheep will get in line and wait to be hosed and hose the future for others instead of saying no and put these fuckers out of business so the next hungry inventer will get the message and develop what people want. We did it to the music industry, music is cheaper than ever before, maybe the gaming industry should be next. That is why i like modders they are the last line of defense and most of the time their product is far superior. If you accept it your future is in the cloud. Bullshit

So that's the end..? No more DLC's!? :@

So what's to say they don't pull the same shit when they release Fallout 4!?

Allowing the story to be incomplete without proper DLC's explaining crucial parts of the storyline!?

So I imagine another 6 years down the line; reading some book in TES VI explaining what occurred with the Thalmor!?

Sigh, how disappointing... I imagine the only good news about this is no more mods breaking due to Bethesda's patches fucking things up...

tired of all the bashing, its just so simple to so many people isn't it?

anyways, i just hope Fallout 4 is in the plans that's all i care about !!

O and then all the bashers will have something else to moan about while the rest just mod play and enjoy it :)

Fuck Thalmor.  They'll make a much better long-term villainous group for another one or two TES games, no need to explore what could be a full game's worth of story in a measly DLC.

I wanted an Orsinium DLC.  After the Bretons sacked it and they moved the location to the mountains straddling Skyrim and Hammerfell, it seemed like they were gunning to do it.  It'd be great for a smaller-sized DLC like Danwguard - A location no larger than the Vale would be necessary.  Add a new mountain pass to Orsinium southwest of Markarth and you're golden.  It could have touched on Redguards as well, being near Hammerfell.  Given us a warmer looking setting to explore.  Included spears and scimitars of new material types.  Reintroduced traditional pseudo-samurai Orcish armor.

WARNING: RANTING

If he isn't lying to us (I hope he is) It just proves how bad of a company Bethesda is! Without modders they would be bankrupt by now. (Unofficial patches come out DAYS after a DLC but it takes months for Bethesda to release patches) Former PS3 Skyrim player here! Took them months to fix the lag problems on it (If its fixed! I can't tell because I moved on to the PC version later on) and Dawnguard was released 6 months after PC/Xbox The story itself, as mentioned by others is half done (WTF happens with the Thalmors/high king?!) And I personally don't care at all for Fallout 4 (All the Fallout I tried felt...Meh!)

Again, what is most important in a RPG? The Story! and its not completed here.

I think I am a bit angry about this. There are many questions in Skyrim that will be left unanswered, i.e. the Thalmor, what happens to the Empire, the Civil War, etc.

I find this stuff much more exciting than the bland main story where it's just you saving the world again. But then again I already expected they won't touch these topics again. It's just kinda frustrating knowing that you have to wait for TES VI to get some answers by reading a book about what happened in Skyrim. As far as I know, none of the previous games had any influence on the next game, story-wise. The stuff that happened in Morrowind had nothing to do with what happened in Oblivion and what took place during Oblivion had nothing to do with Skyrim, just some stories you can read in books or what some NPCs mention in the game.

So, in TES VI, you will finally know what happened to the Thalmor and the Empire, by reading a book lying around in the game. Boring and very unsatisfying if you have played Skyrim yourself.

And last but not least, Dawnguard and Dragonborn kinda felt tacked on, as if they were not really a part of Skyrim. Hadn't had such a feeling with Shivering Isles. For a DLC they were quite big and had some substance to them, unlike many other games where DLC is just some random shit like adding a new companion and quests that exist in a vacuum (why hello there, Mass Effect). But still, Solstheim was pretty small and it didn't really add something to the game except more content. Dawnguard was better in that regard, because of the perk trees for Werewolves and Vampires + a whole new type of weapon. A real add-on like in the old days would've been much better, imo. DLCs often feel... dunno, chopped up and tacked on, I guess.

On the plus side however, there won't be any big updates breaking mods or introducing new bugs anymore. And if they are working on Fallout 4, well that would be awesome in my book, especially with the nice engine Skyrim had. Fallout 3 and New Vegas were held back by the shitty engine they used for Oblivion and they even managed that the Fallout games looked worse than Oblivion. So, yay and nay from me.

Well said, my thoughts exactly.

Noticed this post on Skyrim Nexus, no more Skyrim DLC's will be coming out: https://twitter.com/DCDeacon/status/323837011591036929

This is very disappointing.

There is indeed so many unanswered questions, and as a result so much more possibility and potential for Skyrim.   For instance, to identify just one, there's the Thalmor problem.  Those who are familiar with the Imperial version of the civil war, General Tullius even remarks likewise of the growing concern and disdain between the Empire and the Aldmeri Dominion.  So very disappointing, indeed.

Yeah, there was definitely a whole lot of foreshadowing (practically screaming out new dlc) about this through the civil war quest line. Saying I'm disappointed is an understatement. Such great potential thrown into the garbage bin. What a waste.

I mean, even if someone does come out with a kick-ass mod to expand on the war between the Empire and the Dominion, Bethesda will never recognize it as a part of the lore. So if the Empire stomps the elves to a pulp and reunite Tamriel again, that won't be the case when TES VI is rolled out. Honestly, that's the biggest beef I got with the whole thing. The playerbase can and more than likely will whip out professional-quality work which might turn out even better than if BGS did it, but it won't mean jack shit plot-wise.

There was so much potential indeed, as I somehow managed to break past through the invisible border, went south and then found the White-Gold Tower.

First time I saw it, "WTF?"

The studio ruled out Fallout4, that means the next project is something new. My bet is some new steam punk title, since steam punk is all fashionable in gaming circles right now since everyone seems to haves managed to romanticize the Homestead Steel Mill strike of 1892, or something.

Not surprised they pulled the plug on Skyrim since any new DLC would compete with Elder Scrolls On-Line.

If it weren't that they already said they weren't making new DLC, I would've said that must mean a new addon is coming up. :(  But holy crap, I never noticed they bothered to place white gold tower at all. Wonder what the point was as you can't even see most of the Skyrim-Cyrodiil border because of the huge mountain range.

Old news that goes back to when the game first came out. If I remember correctly, a good chunk of Tamriel exists within the game, which led to a number of people to believe that future DLC would use these areas.

They did no such thing. And if they did, I'd like to see some proof of that.

... or they made it for the modding community. Problem was, there was no serious mod outside the borders of Skyrim. This "no more dlc" should give modder's the push for building outside the border's.
