Slammer64 Posted April 15, 2013 Posted April 15, 2013 Noticed this post on Skyrim Nexus, no more Skyrim DLC's will be coming out: https://twitter.com/DCDeacon/status/323837011591036929
Veta Posted April 15, 2013 Posted April 15, 2013 Yep the has made a few headlines , they are "moving on" to new projects .
Rayblue Posted April 15, 2013 Posted April 15, 2013 They gotta be shitting me. Oh, well, they'll probably just release maintenance updates, and modders will be left to do most of the world-building. Even though we’re moving on, we’ll still have minor updates to Skyrim as needed. We’ve invested so much of ourselves into Skyrim and will never truly say goodbye to it.
BruceWayne Posted April 15, 2013 Posted April 15, 2013 Well, seeing that BGS only has two franchises and they never talked about starting a third one, this can only mean that they are concentrating on Fallout 4 from this point on. Personally, I think that's a good thing. Then again, I wasn't as disappointed by their interpretation of Fallout as others (I have my beefs, though).
Koko.Hekmatyar Posted April 15, 2013 Posted April 15, 2013 Fallout 4 or TES VI are the only options they have when they say "moving on"....unless they have a new IP that they have been keeping so top secret that those who know about it are sworn to secrecy on pain of death if they even mention it.
DeltaD36 Posted April 15, 2013 Posted April 15, 2013 Well.... I feel slightly empty inside now. :/ Oblivion provided a multitude of DLCs to make the game seem bigger. Even though Oblivion was already very, very big, its expansions made it larger. Skyrim is a wonderful game, but in my opinion, feels like an incomplete experience. There was a lot more that they could have expanded on! IE: The Thalmor! What will happen with them? It seems to have left us off with a blank. Even though it feels like Bethesda is simply letting the Modding community take it from here it just doesn't really fill the gap of potential other DLC's that could have been made to make it a much more whole experience. Sure there will be DLC-like Mods, but it really doesn't mean much in my eyes if it isn't official story progression. To be honest, I'm not sure how to react to this. On one hand I'll never need to buy another DLC to keep up with the pace of mods, but on the other hand we probably won't see a lot of BIG leaps in the modding community or in the story itself.
rylasasin Posted April 15, 2013 Posted April 15, 2013 Well on the plus side maybe the modders/modding teams t (Example, the Civil War expansion) that were holding back their bigger projects in order to wait for all the DLCs to come out will finally start working on their stuff now.
bjornk Posted April 15, 2013 Posted April 15, 2013 After more than a year, they released an update that fixes vanilla bugs that should have been fixed a long time ago. If you ask me, they are wrapping it up, probably going for a GoTY edition. 2.0 will probably be that. With the 1.9 patch it was obvious that they were wrapping it up. And the team is moving on? Uh, let me guess, to that ESO crap of course.

DeltaD36 Posted April 15, 2013 Posted April 15, 2013 Well, I guess one good thing would be that now, without larger updates heading our way, Mods will cease to break and mod makers can find an even foothold to permenately build their mods on now.

If you swore off sex cause someone told you it hurt the first time <--Women You'd miss out on a lot of fun.
bjornk Posted April 15, 2013 Posted April 15, 2013 That's Zinnemax's deal, not BGS's.Who is working on ESO then, if it's not BSG? Did Zenimax outsource it to another studio rather than making it with its own? Never mind I've found it http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Elder_Scrolls_Online
Ark of Truth Posted April 15, 2013 Posted April 15, 2013 That isn't going to win them any favours. That's Zinnemax's deal, not BGS's.Who is working on ESO then, if it's not BSG? Did Zenimax outsource it to another studio rather than making it with its own?Never mind I've found ithttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Elder_Scrolls_Online Zenimax is working on Elder Scrolls Online. Zenimax is the department of Bethesda which works on MMO. There are most likely moving the staff over to the development of Elder Scrolls Online.
Koko.Hekmatyar Posted April 15, 2013 Posted April 15, 2013 ESO is already getting set for closed beta invites have already been sent out. they don't need all the people who were working on Skyrim on ESO. P.s. for clarification Zenimax Online Studios and BGS are subsidiaries of ZeniMax Media not the other way around.
BruceWayne Posted April 15, 2013 Posted April 15, 2013 Bethesda is the publisher and Bethesda Game Studios a developer that is responsible for Skyrim, Oblivion, Fallout. Zenimax Online is its own developer and has nothing to do with BGS. This was stated in one of their blog posts, shortly after they've announced ESO. id software and the devs of Dishonored are seperate divisions of Bethesda/Zenimax as well. So, I'd be very hard pressed to believe that this means anything other than shifting their complete focus on Fallout.
RzXzB Posted April 15, 2013 Posted April 15, 2013 I was looking forward to the new DLC they were making and they now just decided to give up and not finish it that's messed up they were going to add hammerfall to skyrim and add the back story to the dwemer and now they don't want to finish it.
myuhinny Posted April 15, 2013 Posted April 15, 2013 Yeah I just read this over at the nexus at least we no longer have to worry about them breaking our shit with their updates anymore. Hopefully they fixed the stuff they broke in their game from their updates like the MFG commands. Now we'll have to worry about how many bugs are going to be in their next game. At least they gave us some new monsters and tentacles to play with before they moved on.
RzXzB Posted April 15, 2013 Posted April 15, 2013 Well one thing I want is a Skyrim GOTY that requires no steam account I want it like the other Elder Scrolls games in the past I have already bought a copy off of steam I just want a steam free Skyrim GOTY so it's much easier to reinstall everything.

No shit Steam is a pain in the ass. They put out a new update oh look the game auto updated while I was gone and now half my mods don't work YAY!!!
RzXzB Posted April 15, 2013 Posted April 15, 2013 Well we can also place the blame on TESO. The way it looks they want to turn The Elder Scrolls games from a rpg to mmorpg.
BruceWayne Posted April 15, 2013 Posted April 15, 2013 Again, TESO has nothing to do with Bethesda Game Studios. It's a completely different developer(Zenimax Online) that creates that game.

I know I just think that's what they are forcing Elder Scrolls to become. I almost forgot they were also going to make a DLC that solves the war in skyrim and finally put a new High King on the thorne but it looks like that's not going to happen also

pantherlux Posted April 15, 2013 Posted April 15, 2013 it feels so unfinished to me only to say: ok thats it, thx to all buyers...oh and get our new game in stores in fall or winter this or next year i wanted to bring the battle to the thalmor (like the most of us) or know why i crossed the border in the beginning (yeah i know, roleplay stuff, but a little backgroundstory would be nice^^ )
