Just as SAC already pointed out, you can use the regular Cross(ess) from Zap for this purpose.

When my NPC dies, the body just freezes on the crucifix, with eyes open and all that, unlike in your images...

The breathing animation just comes to a standstill, literal freezing of the character. And it still says "talk" instead of search. When 24h pass, same thing. The body will just be a frozen mannequin, who speaks when toggled. Know why this happens?

Papyrus extender not installed or wrong version.

New Version is up and includes the removal option for unwanted crosses.

Also includes an additional Fail safe for those who are incapable of reading the Requirements.

 

New Safe is NOT required.

Finally came around to test this. Put up a NPC near lakeview after setting the slider to 48 hours. Came back after a day and she was still on the cross, as expected. Went away for further adventuring and got a message that she died when I last expected it, as you predicted ?. Went back and the corpse is still on the cross. Outstanding work!

I know it's a long wait, but I think it will be worth it.

I am convinced that t.ara is doing everything to ensure that ZAP 9 is released this spring.

Does the unlimited number of victims refer to dead ones only? Because if I try to add more than 6 living victims I get a message that I reached max number of victims and it starts to remove the oldest with the newest NPC. Just to clarify I have some NPCs in Markarth and some in Whiterun, so I don't believe it has something to do with the Cell limitation.

That´s correct. Live victims require an active Alias to be held in place, this limits their Global number.

Will probably increase that limit when i include the remaining crosses in the next update.

It doesn't really matter.

I'm not in a position to criticize people for their (free) work, but I'm in this camp that has some serious doubts about ZAP9.

While its impossible to say anything for certain before the actual release, what I'm seeing in the WIP thread leads me to believe that this thing will be a massively bloated feature creep.

 

And Since i don't necessarily want to make another multiple Gig´s -large mod with a 2000+ animCount a hard requirement, i don't see myself using it anyway.

 

(No offense, t.ara, despite what i just said here, the effort is definitively appreciated)

T.ara seems to really like and support your work... I bet if you needed/wanted certain assets out of zap 9 for use they'd be provided to you... 

I tried to find the post that had the related assets, but it looks like it was in the "old" WIP thread that was deleted at some point before the current one arose.

I remember the post you are talking about.

But to be perfectly honest, i don't really need a spike like this. It kinda goes against the Idea of this mod. I mean, if you get a spike run trough you lengthwise, you are dead, instantly. This could maybe be made into a less spectacular execution device for Deadly Furnitures (in combination with a paired animation with a guard). But there are other things higher up on my ToDo list, so i don't see that happening anytime soon.

there is no included way to do this directly.

I recommend using puppetmaster or the "setfavorstate 1" console command.

So if I understood this correctly, at the moment you can only put living npc followers on the cross?

 

You can't do things like putting an already dead NPC on the cross?
