There is a development build of wolvenkit right now, where it is possible to replace animations. Adding animations seems to be totally possible too! It's getting there guys.

The video shows a proof of concept.

this proves my point the wolven kit is not ready for modding the games animations and until there is proper support for it there is just no way for a sex framework to be made and as ghostfall said "wolvenkit is cobbled together by skilled enthusiasts (of which CDPR has poached a few)" i believe cdpr keeps poaching the skilled modders before they have a chance to make good progress on the wolven kit because of the messy game launch these people that get poached are probably being sent to fix there mess

now all that being said all it takes is one skilled modder to create a framework i remember before the skyrim script extender was done someone had already had a framework if the LL community has proven one thing to me it's nothing can stop there modding powers

Ofc WolvenKit is not on the level of a CreationKit yet... How could it? They startet from almost zero. Taking this into account, it Is very impressive what they have archived by now.

There is not as much in the way for a sex framework as you might believe... I think the only big stone, blocking the way for a sex framework is, the support of injecting custom animations.

And don't forget, importing custom animations was not possible for about a year after release of Skyrim as well. This is still only possible with weird workarounds like FNIS.

BTW. Modders have full access to the Cyberpunk scripting system with CET and redscript already. And there is a script extender called Red4ext.

so by that information the only thing we would be waiting on is the custom animations since there is full access to the scripting system now hopefully we don't get a weird workaround like fnis

Soon Cyberpunk will reach that level, There are a lot of people that want sex/naughty mods for the game.

At this point, all I want from CP77's modding capabilities is the ability to call upon already implemented animations. Like the animations they used for V to eat, drink, sit, lean, etc. that were implemented on quests but GOD KNOWS WHY they didn't implemented in sandboxing. That would include the ability to call upon the joytoy scenes structures to maybe implement more joytoys and more variety. That is a lot, but that would be enough for now.

Witcher 3 just got to that point with the Companion mod. freaking yeeeaaarss after. But I'm noticing Cyberpunk is moving a lot faster.

Cyberpunk has unironiclly a bigger and more dedicated community. I remember them(CDPR) promising that we will have deeper romance and flings, and even the ability to call a joy-toy to your apartment. If you look closely you can see in the vending machine in V's house there is written the option to order a Joy-Toy. Also BD's were supposed to show some sort of porn, strippers ETC... Cyberpunk 2077 was supposed to be a much darker game (The devs were going in that direction, but the CEOs afriad that Sony and Microsoft would get angry+ the game getting the A rating and not having that mainstream appel changed their opinion). The game was even censored after launch. Sex scene with rouge censored after hotfix 1.02, Premium joy toy blowjob scene censored after hotfix 1.05.

As a fan of the genre and Deux Ex, system shock + movies like blade runner, Dredd. Cyberpunk was dissapointing in launch. In terms of sex and relationships even more. The exsisting sex scenes (Besides the ones with Judy and Panem that were OK, didn't look at the other ones since I'm stright), The sex scene with Panem and the joytoys look recycled and are similar to fem V sex scene. No Doggy, And no similar scenes that will compliment the first person, and I don't mean something explict, Just scenes similar to witcher 2&3.

I'm itching for Loverslab mods to come, New female companions intreasting quests. The modding community just like with skyrim is going to save this game.

It is a pretty fucking dark game. That's what's good about it. But when it comes to gameplay-wise features that you should TAKE PART they commit the a terrible sin in game developing: they betray the rule of "Show, dont tell".

For example:

The game have excessive Cybermodifications, psychosis and detatchment to humanity. But you can't really mod yourself to any apparent physical extent;

The game have violence, ghettos and urban criminal activity, but you can't take any part in that yourself.

The game is highly sexual all around you, just not for you.

The game shows a pretty fucking deep social inequality, but you can't go all the way to the bottom nor all the way to the top;

I could go on for ages. That shows it's not an issue of tone. The tone is pretty fucking fine with V getting fucked all over. I love the fact that they took some choices from me, actually. Storywise, I mean. The fact that you can't save every NPC you care about is awesome. It is brutal and heartbreaking seeing life fizzle from them as they give up living. But there were some choices that they should not have taken. The choice of customizing your sandboxing experience and partaking in a highly social and yet futile life within the city. That was the precise place where all those themes should've been approached with ease. The ability to immerse yourself in Cyberpunk is pretty fucking bad when you're not doing main quests and the main side quests.

imo the implementation of sex mods / custom animations makes only sense with a complete breakthrough with wk or/and other tools across almost every area the game has to offer... from custom voices to generated buildings and missions, animations, cars, maps etc. from observing other games around here, the adult stuff is more like a side effect that comes up automatically if a game offers lots of adaptations as this equals lots of people interested in the game and sharing/improving ideas.

one thing is for sure... if the plan of cdpr is to constantly pump out add-ons and and sell off own gimmicks, they have to restrict the tools that modify the game, a breakthrough via mods will likely not happen.

it would interest me how the skyrim mod community grew back in the day... was the adult mod community really ahead of the curve or grew everything equally ?

Cdpr actually works with modders to release a better modding tool and they are supporting the mod community, also from their latest news(About witcher 4 and their move to Unreal 5) I get the impression that they will finish with cyberpunk soon and move on, leaving the game for modders to shape it as they see fit.

Also They will most likely on release 1 big story expension. So I think its a logical move for them just to give modders the option to play with the game, which will boost its sales, while they focus on witcher 4& a sequal to cyberpunk. Since from their RED 2.0 plan, they plan on working on 2 triple A games in the same time lol.

Everything is possible with the right people, Skyrim modding wasn't easy either at the beginning without proper tools, we also needed 3rd party programs like PapyrusUtil, SKSE, FNIS. So question is who is willing to put a lot of effort to create these tools?

Has anyone contacted CDProject about the modding future?

They work with modders, and they even ask modders what they want in a modding tool.

Currently possible:

  • Replacing assets
  • Spawning items and NPC follower dolls (they have only basic interaction) in the world
  • Manipulating properties (eg. skill level)
  • Hooking into some Game mechanics (railways, PC, map)
  • Trigger animations on NPCs
  • Basic script environment with event callbacks

What is coming:

  • no commitment from CDPR

What is missing to get real mods like in Skyrim:

  • Access to the Scene engine
  • Access to NPC AI / Behavior
  • Access to NPC pathing engine
  • Access to Dialogue System

I doubt that this will ever come, but lets wait...

Why there is no access? coz modders dont know how to do it ? or the toolkit CDPR releashed is lacking?

From what I've understood the modders that work with CDPR are moving to Unreal engine 5 (If you didn't heard the news witcher 4 or whatever it name will be is moving to unreal 5 and CDPR basiclly abondening their own engine). So its an intreasting time for the cyberpunk modding scene, will it overcome it or stagnate.

CDPR does not provide a toolkit, they provide some lists with IDs. Everything else (eg,. Wolfenkit) is build by reverse engineering.

Some internal red engine functions was leaked, but without any documentation.

With the decision to switch to UE5 it becomes much more questionable if there will be real modding capabilities at all since the current engine has an EOL date now and all further efforts are for the trash on long term view.

This is reflected by the poor inflow of new mods on Nexus - the death bells are already ringing.

Additionally I had a discussion with a CDPR developer and he told me that full modding of CP2077 is completely out of scope.

It seems that all our hope still remains on Bethesda who actually announced that their new Game Starfield will have full modding capabilities similar to Skyrim.
