If you're moving something from 33 to a different slot, you usually need to remove the base body from it's mesh with Outfit Studio. Also sometimes items will have "segments" defined which auto-hide specific parts and need to be removed from the mesh (I had to do this once when fixing a piece of headwear which I didn't want to cause the actor's hair mesh to disappear).

Is that as simple as just doing this?

https://i.imgur.com/tNrqeY4.png Dicky's Boots example. Note: No heels on it.

https://imgur.com/uAiJ8Gf Leotard.

So just delete the body model in OS and save (overwrite) the existing .nif? That's it?

Yes, at least that's the likely next step. Whether that alone will be sufficient will need some testing.

And of course, after you do that, build it again in BodySlide. Any time you make edits in Outfit Studio you'll need to rebuild those in BodySlide.

The next thing to be on the lookout for: it's not uncommon for outfits which contain embedded body meshes to rely on "zaps" in order to avoid the body clipping through the clothing. When your item doesn't have an embedded body, that's not going to work so you may need to make further edits to the mesh (refining and/or expanding in some areas) in order to address clipping problems.

Is it possible to determine whether a "zap" exists by viewing the outfit in OS?

Also, given that Combat Boots does NOT have heels, should I try changing it in its ESP from Slot 33 to Slot 54 after I delete the body mesh and rebuild it? Or do you think it's still smarter to edit the Leotard instead?

Usually body zaps are done by creating a custom slider (conventionally named something like "body zap" or "zap body" or maybe just "zaps" but the name can be arbitrary). If you're getting this deep into Outfit Studio it may be helpful to watch some basic tutorial videos on using it for outfit conversions, since things like zapping body regions tends to be covered pretty well in them. Some people do just directly edit the body mesh and delete vertices from it instead though instead of making a slider, but that's pretty evident if you hide the clothing mesh and see a big gaping hole where the tits or ass should have been. Also (rarely) people merge meshes so that the body and clothing are just all one mesh, that tends to be extremely hard to untangle but thankfully doesn't appear to be the case here.

More generally, you can just try deleting the included body and then mess around with the preview in BodySlide or load it up in game and move around to see if you spot bits of skin where there should be fabric. Also increase some sliders with the LooksMenu interface since some kinds of clipping only become evident when parts of the body are morphed a bit. If you're not seeing skin where you don't want it, then you're probably done, otherwise go into Outfit Studio and make some changes to the mesh (and that's where the tutorials will come in handy, because trying to explain how exactly to do that is more than I have time to type out).

It's technically possible, but you'll need to make sure that the boots are bigger than the feet. Many times the embedded body mesh has the feet deformed or zapped so that toes and heels don't poke out of the footwear.

Also, at this point you're probably starting to get a little bit of an idea of why people don't often try to move clothing from slot 33 to some other slot. ?

Conversion requests:

  1. https://i.imgur.com/YuQnwh1.png - I don't have a Nexus link. Does anyone know what this outfit is? And if you do know, is there a FG conversion for it? If not, can someone provide a FG conversion for it?
  2. https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/52932 - Vault 111 Outfit Mini-Dress

1. Image link doesn't work - don't have permission to view.

2. There is a conversion for this, I have it in my mod storage, but I can't remember where I got it from. I downloaded it a year ago, so.....

edit: Found the FG conversion on page 32 of this thread, about half-way down or so.

Fixing the link for the first image: https://imgur.com/a/hkhyBhI

Try that, please.

Also: Thank you for providing the FG files for the 2nd request. You're awesome.

Are there any non-slot 33 boot mods out there? Durable looking combat-style boots. I am not looking for high-heeled boots or anything like that. If so, can you link to me?

Is there a a kind soul (more talented than me) to make a fusion girl version to this one: SilverShroud Coat at Fallout 4 Nexus - Mods and community (nexusmods.com)

There is FG Bodyslide for the Vault Suit to go with it, but unfortunately not for the Silver Shroud Coat ?

Have a great day/night.. Stay safe!

If no one comes along to convert that for you, there's https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/45044 - TheKite's Handmaiden.  Once you've got the Silver Shroud costume, you can craft a modslot on that coat to flag you as the Shroud when you're wearing it.  Wear it open and it sits on top of light underarmors really well, so you don't have to pair it with the rest of that outfit.  I've paired mine with Fortaleza bodysuit, boots and pauldrons; VTAW Wardrobes 6 and 8; and the Pornstar Clothes pack and it all works together nicely for a variety of nice looks with only the tiniest bit of clipping.

Sigh. I give up. I tried the following:

  1. Opened the Leotard in Outfit Studio.
  2. Deleted the Fusion Girl body mesh.
  3. Saved.
  4. Rebuilt the Leotard in BodySlide (which was tough to do because Fusion Girl - Zero Sliders wasn't showing up for it so I had to batch build and select only that outfit).
  5. Edited the Leotard esp in xEdit
  6. Changed Slot 33 in Armor to Slot 54
  7. Changed Slot 33 in ArmorAddon to Slot 54
  8. Saved the Leotard esp in xEdit
  9. Loaded the game
  10. Used In-Game ESP mod to give me a new Leotard
  11. Equipped it

Invisible frickin' body. I have no earthly idea what I'm doing wrong at this point, but whatever. I'll just stick to my Converse. Combat Boots that don't clip and aren't on Slot 33 are a pipe-dream apparently. :)

This has to do with whether the outfit is also added to a slidergroup for the presets, so the "Fusion Girl" group in your case.

As I mentioned earlier, there may also be "segments" defined in the mesh which instruct the game to stop rendering meshes for other specific parts (like when you equip a hat and it auto-hides your hair so that it won't clip through the hat). Those can be edited or removed in the segments tab in Outfit Studio, though I have no idea if that's the cause of the problem you're facing.

Did you try moving the boots to another slot, or just the leotard?

I tried the boots as well. To Slot 54 (same slot the Converse mod assigns its shoes to). Followed the same process. Really bad clipping in game, unfortunately.

Guess what? I fixed it. I did the same thing with the  boots again, but this time I also used the Inflate tool in OS. No more clipping in-game, but maybe a slight bit of clown shoe syndrome? haha. Whatever, I'll take it.

If anyone wants non-heeled Combat Boots so their character can dress up like she's actually fighting instead of strutting on a catwalk, I've attached my Combat Boots edit. Slot 54. No body mesh.

Now to figure out why only some of these piercings show up on my character: https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/66606

Strangely, one of them has a body mesh attached to it (the Navel Moon piercing). Must've been an oversight. Not sure why piercings like Navel Pearl Earring don't appear on my character while others do.

I use that mod primarily for the cupcake, haven't really tried the rest but I can definitely confirm the cupcake works! ??

Some time ago I made a request regarding the conversion of Backpack of the Commonwealth. That was before the time when it was still quite quiet in this thread. The good news are spreading now, which makes me very happy.

So it may be that the "right people" missed the request. And so I'm politely asking again if anyone has the interest and skills to convert the mod to FG.

I could imagine that the amount of work is manageable, since in my opinion it is only about the two shoulder bags. The backpacks are all - at least the ones I have seen so far - without straps and probably do not need to be adjusted. But the mail bag and leather bag have straps with all their disadvantages without conversion.

Now I'm interested in trying this one out.

How hard would it be to convert to FG?

Easy. You just have to watch the deformation (choose solid deformation/ "no squeeze" or something when conforming sliders).

It has a FG conversion already, but it seems to be spotty. A lot of the piercings don't work for me. They are never visible on my body, and my body isn't ridiculously proportioned around the waist. My assumption is some of the piercings are inside my character's body. Others do work though.

If you wanna tackle improving the piercings so they all work well, you'd be a hero.

I'd be curious to know if the Belly Piercing with Pearl Earrings shows up on your character's FG body. That's the one I really want to use.

Ok, so just installed and tested the navel piercings.

They all work except for the Vintage moon and asterisk piercing - that one seems to add a whole new belly skin that is puffed out from the characters body, obliterating any textures (including tattoos) that are there, while still hiding the piercing.

Downside is that they also take the same slot as VTAW's Nipple Piercings from Collection 6

I'll try the slot 57 optional file for the piercings and hopefully they don't remove any of my other armor pieces.
