I'm 20 minutes in and losing my mind. I'll never understand how people wrap their heads around this stuff. Can't go into specific solutions for the trickier aspects but the core loop for conversions is pretty easy: Idealy start with something simple, without any extra parts and decorations. 1. Check if there already exists a set of bodyslide files 1.1 If not Spoiler * File -> New Project * Pick a ReferenceBody the fusiongirl mod comes with 2 sets of prefabricated conversion bodies, cbbe to fusiongirl and vanilla to fusiongirl. Pick the one that fits your requirements. * Name and select the nif file from file: "fallout4/data/meshes/folderstructure of the mod you want to convert/outfitname.nif" let outfitstudio worry about the textures for now 1.2 Otherwise * Open that one * Then File -> Load Reference -> pick the corrolation conversion body ( Cbbe to fusiongirl or vanilla to fusiongirl) 2. Prep for conversion (Fun in the top right corner) * Meshes Tab: Check if there is an old body already and if so remove it (but remember that it had one) * Bones Tab: Check if there are any bones with "cloth" in their name. If yes: Spoiler Pick something else to convert for now. Otherwise: Select all bones, right click and pick Delete->From Project (DO NOT JUST PRESS DEL) 3. Sliders & You * Wiggle Slider(s) in Bottom Right and watch the naked ReferenceBody move through the Outfit ? * Top Menu -> Slider -> Conform all * Wiggle Slider(s) in bottom right and watch the clothes move with the body ? 4. Conversion the easy way * Move the conversion slider (assuming you picked a conversion body reference) to 100% * Slider -> Set base shape 5. Load the fusiongirl Reference Body * File -> Load Reference -> "Fusiongirl Clothes" * Now there should be a lot more fun sliders in the bottom right * Wiggle Slider and watch the ReferenceBody go straight through the clothes * Remember Point 3 and Conform All 6. Bone Weights * Select all outfit pieces in the mesh tab (top right) * Top Menu: Shape -> Copy Bone Weights * OK * Try Saving (see step 7) * Saving "Failed" Unmasked Vertices: Spoiler Manual Weight Painting is way beyond what i can explain here so here is the quick and dirty version: 1. Shape -> Mask Weighted Vertices 2. Shape -> Copy Bone Weights (again) and increase search radius slider 3. Repeat until saving works without warnings 7. Save * time to remember if the outfit came with a body originally * If so then save and make sure to have "copy reference shape into output" checkmarked and vice versa 8. Fine Tuning Spoiler These are your main tool for mesh manipulation (moving stuff around) From left to right: * Masking Tool: What does it do? "A good question, for another time" - Maz Kanata * Increase Volume Mesh: Use this for anything that clips inside the reference body * Decrease Mesh Volume: Use this on anything that clips through stuff ontop * Move Vertices: Lose an hour and a half moving verices fractions of an inch around to satify your own ocd tendencies * Smoothing Tool: It slowly spaces out vertices in an even fashion. Use whenever something gets pinched. Edited January 22, 2022 by Aiko001 8

Stormer Posted January 23, 2022 Posted January 23, 2022 Can somebody convert Vtaw Scientist outfit bodyslides for FG please?
Sgt. Marge Posted January 23, 2022 Posted January 23, 2022 (edited) I'm trying to figure out why the COCO Lacebody outifts have little holes in them where the skin clips through. I made sure to install the mod with the proper Fomod options. I've also updated to the latest 1.86 FG, and it's still happening. I did some testing with only FG/Bodyslide/Zex and no physics enabled, no other morphing mods enabled, and in my fresh level 1 save in the root cellar, and it still happens. I tried loading the outfit in Outift Studio, loaded the FG Nude Reference, Conform All, Copy Bone Weights, delete the reference body again, save, and rebuild. I tried 2 presets, Athletic and Curvy. Is there a magic combination of Outfit Studio that I need to do? Maybe this outfit was built with the older version of FG and needs to be converted again? Someone indicated in the Coco bikini mod they had to Quote "I had major clipping on the FG bikini's. I took bikini 1, deleted your FG body (which was not set as the reference), loaded the FG nude reference, conform all, copy bone weights, save, and rebuild. Clipping fixed. So, you need to rebuild your slidersets for FG 1.80. Also, make sure your body is the reference." So that is where I got the idea to try it with this one. Since the body didn't load with the outfit, I had the idea to load the reference after, and conform all / copy bone weights and then remove the reference again. Because when I left it in there, it screwed up the feet / heels of course. I'm trying to learn Outfit studio just enough to fix these little problems, but it feels like I'm playing whack a mole with a jackhammer. Here's an example, the little holes show up in other parts of all 3 outfits. Spoiler Any suggestions? Edit: I should also say that when I load the outfit in Outfit Studio by pressing the little button, it looks fine. I can even play with the sliders, and I don't see any problem. So I can't just use the little fill in tool. But when I load the reference body, then I see a little hole but not like this screenshot. Edited January 23, 2022 by Marg597
Cloud_1 Posted January 23, 2022 Posted January 23, 2022 Hi could someone make conversions of https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/52393 https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/7438 https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/34450 And thank you all for all the hard work and dedication you show to the FG body and love for FO4, no matter how much Microsoft screws up the franchise V/R Cloud_1
Aiko001 Posted January 23, 2022 Posted January 23, 2022 (edited) @Marg597 On something this skinthight and high poly, if filling doesn't work then usually it's a weight paint issue. You can either try your luck and adjust the weight paint for the shoulders or you can use a zap slider. Problem is, a zap slider kinda needs the body itself to work (since that is what we are zapping) and it only works if the outfit doesn't have a seethrough material. 1. BodySlide -> Select the outfit and press to open it in outfitstudio 2. OutfitStudio: TopRight Corner -> Meshes Check if there is already a body (usually with a green name) If not: Abort or accept that with the changes listed below this outfit will NOT work with any of the shoes/boots that came with the mod. (basically anything with an existing body) TopMenu File -> load Reference -> Fusiongirl Clothes 3. TopRight meshes -> select the outfit and press -> until the mesh switches into a wireframe mode and you see instead 4. TopRight meshes -> select the body TopIconBar -> press to go into masking mode Paint the area you want to hide (it should be black) 5. TopMenu -> Tool Invert Mask 6. TopMenu -> Slider -> new Zap Slider Name the Slider 7. BottomRight -> go to the new Slider and press then press the new 8. Checkmark "Zapped" & "Hidden" -> Ok -> Save 9. Back to BodySlide -> Refresh outfits !!! DO NOT CLOSE OUTFIT STUDIO !!! (or you will have a hard time editing the zap in case that it needs further fine tuning) 10. switch away from outfit and back (otherwise the preview doesn't show the new zap right) 11. check if everything looks alright if not correct otherwise now close Outfitstudio and build the outfit. Also maybe from now on lets do these in the discord? Zex Fg discord: https://discord.com/channels/499328900371972097/503733409785446401 Edited January 23, 2022 by Aiko001 3
Sgt. Marge Posted January 23, 2022 Posted January 23, 2022 (edited) 3 hours ago, Aiko001 said: @Marg597 Alright, easiest fix (at least easy as in that i can explain it via post) would be a zap slider. Mind you this only realy works if this outfit does NOT have a see through material swap (usually changed in the armor workbench) Thanks, I'll save these directions. Unfortunately the mod has see through swaps on all 3 outfits. You're right, I should join the discord and ask there. Thanks for the link! Edit: OK! So this is probably a very silly way to fix this, but if someone else has holes in their garments and is like me and doesn't really know Outfit Studio that well, here's what I did. I'm writing this out for myself because I'm sort of freaking out that this worked and I have to save it and maybe it will help someone else. 1. Build the outfit as you normally would in Bodyslide, and then go find where that generated nif file lives, open that path in a windows explorer file window. In my case it's in Overwrite\Meshes\Coco\Lacebody 2. Take a screenshot of the offending holes in game, look very carefully at the entire outfit and see if there are any other spots that look like that, or are clipping into the skin. Another of these outfits I'm working with had a bad neck strap that was only partially there for example. 3. Open Bodyslide by clicking the long outfit studio button in the bottom right corner, so that it opens to a blank area. 4. Drag your generated nif into Bodyslide (cursor may turn to the word "move ->"). In my case there was no reference body loaded with the outfit, that's fine don't worry about it. 5. Look at your screen shot, then look back in outfit studio. The picture in outfit studio probably looks ok, but that doesn't matter either. You know it's not, deep down inside. 6. Make sure in Outfit Studio you have the fill in tool selected ("Increase Mesh Volume in an Area" is what the button says when you mouse over it, the icon looks like a micky mouse head that's missing the left ear), and you'll get a big red circle around your mouse cursor. This circle is our friend. 7. Look at your screen shot again. Click and drag the mouse a little at the spot in Outfit Studio that matches where the skin clipping is. It might look a tiny bit different now, should be a tiny bit thicker. 8. In Outfit Studio, click File -> Export Nif. An explorer save window opens up. Find that exact path where you just dragged the nif from earlier, and save it on top of that. Just overwrite it. You can always build it again in bodyslide if you need to start over. 9. Open the game again. Cross your fingers. Think positive thoughts. Hopefully it starts to look better now. Look at it some more, take another screen shot if you need to work on it a little more. Repeat the steps to fill in any more gaps. I'm guessing there's probably a better way to do this. I'm sorry to clutter up the conversion thread with my foibles. May ZeX forgive me. Now if you'll excuse me, Piper and I have some celebrating to do at the Dugout Inn. ^-^ Edit2: Well, it almost works. Unfortunately the changes I made only look good when I'm wearing the heels which has the reference body attached. But at least I fixed the holes. I still have some learning to do... Cheers!
