**The Official Fusion Girl 1.75+ Armor and Clothing Conversion Thread**

Recommended Posts

I'm trying to figure out why the COCO Lacebody outifts have little holes in them where the skin clips through.

I made sure to install the mod with the proper Fomod options.

I've also updated to the latest 1.86 FG, and it's still happening.

I did some testing with only FG/Bodyslide/Zex and no physics enabled, no other morphing mods enabled, and in my fresh level 1 save in the root cellar, and it still happens.

I tried loading the outfit in Outift Studio, loaded the FG Nude Reference, Conform All, Copy Bone Weights, delete the reference body again, save, and rebuild.

I tried 2 presets, Athletic and Curvy.

Is there a magic combination of Outfit Studio that I need to do?  Maybe this outfit was built with the older version of FG and needs to be converted again?

Someone indicated in the Coco bikini mod they had to

Quote

"I had major clipping on the FG bikini's.  I took bikini 1, deleted your FG body (which was not set as the reference), loaded the FG nude reference, conform all, copy bone weights, save, and rebuild.  Clipping fixed.  So, you need to rebuild your slidersets for FG 1.80.  Also, make sure your body is the reference."

So that is where I got the idea to try it with this one.  Since the body didn't load with the outfit, I had the idea to load the reference after, and conform all / copy bone weights and then remove the reference again.  Because when I left it in there, it screwed up the feet /  heels of course.  I'm trying to learn Outfit studio just enough to fix these little problems, but it feels like I'm playing whack a mole with a jackhammer.

Here's an example, the little holes show up in other parts of all 3 outfits.

Any suggestions?  :)

Edit:  I should also say that when I load the outfit in Outfit Studio by pressing the little button, it looks fine.  I can even play with the sliders, and I don't see any problem.  So I can't just use the little fill in tool.  But when I load the reference body, then I see a little hole but not like this screenshot.

@Marg597

On something this skinthight and high poly, if filling doesn't work then usually it's a weight paint issue.

You can either try your luck and adjust the weight paint for the shoulders or you can use a zap slider.

Problem is, a zap slider kinda needs the body itself to work (since that is what we are zapping) and it only works if the outfit doesn't have a seethrough material.

1. BodySlide -> Select the outfit and press image.png.ce85a5a4f6e354a24500ab76eb7faa1c.png to open it in outfitstudio

2. OutfitStudio: TopRight Corner -> Meshes

Check if there is already a body (usually with a green name)

   If not:

Abort or accept that with the changes listed below this outfit will NOT work with any of the shoes/boots that came with the mod. (basically anything with an existing body)

TopMenu File -> load Reference -> Fusiongirl Clothes

3. TopRight meshes -> select the outfit and press -> image.png.190de6f8ed4496c2a214b7f6920b90c7.png until the mesh switches into a wireframe mode and you see image.png.01e2c34a91d72a8a7e2477d29896e14d.png instead

4. TopRight meshes -> select the body

TopIconBar -> press image.png.aee3f56da76c0670dcc3ef6c1cc90a82.png to go into masking mode

Paint the area you want to hide (it should be black)

5. TopMenu -> Tool Invert Mask

6. TopMenu -> Slider -> new Zap Slider

    Name the Slider

7. BottomRight -> go to the new Slider and press image.png.486a16d223abd9491dbde60d5065defd.png then press the new image.png.d23de71b2f5d741a6797ef68df8c30ef.png

8. Checkmark "Zapped" & "Hidden" -> Ok -> Save

9. Back to BodySlide -> Refresh outfits

!!! DO NOT CLOSE OUTFIT STUDIO !!! (or you will have a hard time editing the zap in case that it needs further  fine tuning)

10. switch away from outfit and back (otherwise the preview doesn't show the new zap right)

11. check if everything looks alright

     if not correct

otherwise now close Outfitstudio and build the outfit.

Also maybe from now on lets do these in the discord?

Alright, easiest fix (at least easy as in that i can explain it via post) would be a zap slider.

Mind you this only realy works if this outfit does NOT have a see through material swap (usually changed in the armor workbench)

Thanks, I'll save these directions.  Unfortunately the mod has see through swaps on all 3 outfits.  You're right, I should join the discord and ask there.  Thanks for the link!

Edit:

OK!  So this is probably a very silly way to fix this, but if someone else has holes in their garments and is like me and doesn't really know Outfit Studio that well, here's what I did.  I'm writing this out for myself because I'm sort of freaking out that this worked and I have to save it and maybe it will help someone else.

1. Build the outfit as you normally would in Bodyslide, and then go find where that generated nif file lives, open that path in a windows explorer file window.  In my case it's in Overwrite\Meshes\Coco\Lacebody

2. Take a screenshot of the offending holes in game, look very carefully at the entire outfit and see if there are any other spots that look like that, or are clipping into the skin.  Another of these outfits I'm working with had a bad neck strap that was only partially there for example.

3. Open Bodyslide by clicking the long outfit studio button in the bottom right corner, so that it opens to a blank area.

4. Drag your generated nif into Bodyslide (cursor may turn to the word "move ->").  In my case there was no reference body loaded with the outfit, that's fine don't worry about it.

5. Look at your screen shot, then look back in outfit studio.  The picture in outfit studio probably looks ok, but that doesn't matter either.  You know it's not, deep down inside.

6. Make sure in Outfit Studio you have the fill in tool selected ("Increase Mesh Volume in an Area" is what the button says when you mouse over it, the icon looks like a micky mouse head that's missing the left ear), and you'll get a big red circle around your mouse cursor.  This circle is our friend.

7. Look at your screen shot again.  Click and drag the mouse a little at the spot in Outfit Studio that matches where the skin clipping is.  It might look a tiny bit different now, should be a tiny bit thicker.

8. In Outfit Studio, click File -> Export Nif.  An explorer save window opens up.  Find that exact path where you just dragged the nif from earlier, and save it on top of that.  Just overwrite it.  You can always build it again in bodyslide if you need to start over.

9. Open the game again.  Cross your fingers.  Think positive thoughts.  Hopefully it starts to look better now.  Look at it some more, take another screen shot if you need to work on it a little more.  Repeat the steps to fill in any more gaps.

I'm guessing there's probably a better way to do this.  I'm sorry to clutter up the conversion thread with my foibles.  May ZeX forgive me.  Now if you'll excuse me, Piper and I have some celebrating to do at the Dugout Inn. ^-^

Edit2:  Well, it almost works.  Unfortunately the changes I made only look good when I'm wearing the heels which has the reference body attached.  But at least I fixed the holes.  I still have some learning to do...

Cheers!

Hey Aiko,

is there a meaning by adding the CovertOpsOutfit.esp to your Conversion? I think it's only an oversight, but i'm curious so i asked ?

Thanks for all the work you put into the conversions ?

Yes, the esp is in there because the original mod didn't have a crafting recipe for the outfit, so i added it (otherwise you would only have access to the one the mod places in the switchboard)

Just install it like any other mod and when asked make sure that my mod overrides the original.

If people prefer, i could put the esp into its own archive as a seperate download

Ah, that explains the need for the esp. Thanks for the extra work ?

Here is an updated list of my conversions.  If its not on this list then I took them down because there is a better version by somebody else out there.  Most notable is the unzipped vaultsuit that comes with the Classy Chassis collection.  I re did from scratch all of them applying techniques I have learned.  Eli's Armoring compendium may have a a couple issues but works pretty good for the most part.  I am still learning :)

Tina Deluca's Candy Land by MunkySpunk

Version to download: Tina Deluca's Candy Land - CBBE .3

https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/20270?tab=description

Spoiler

20270-16-1480361221.jpg

Notes:

This one handles slightly different. Most of the customisation options (and there are quite a few) are done via bodyslide.

There is a prebuilt version, but for the best results make sure you customise.

For people that don't know how to work with zaps and slidersets or want a refresher:

Spoiler

This is a step by step setup guide:

1. Install the mod and my bodyslide files like usual

2. open bodyslide and filter for "tina"

3. Batch build the outfits with the morphs enabled checkbox checked

Here is where it differs:

4. Now decide if you want the cutoff version of the tops or something more akin to t-shirts

5. Next go through the outfits that interest you and play around with the Zaps  image.png.a29611c08bda4ebd2fbb362c17aef88a.png

This is how they should look. Checking the checkbox will hide the respective outfit part and unchecking it will bring it back.

Avoid having multiple tops unchecked or they will cause major clipping.

6. Once you are happy with the Outfit, press Build (NOT BATCH BUILD)

7. rinse and repeat

8. profit

Thanks for doing this one!  Great outfit for the "medical professionals" in settlements.  Does it matter which of the "Main Files" installed from the mod's page?  Should I pick "Tina DeLuca's Candy Land - CBBE .3"?

Ah right, sry forgot to add that.

It probably doesn't matter but, I used the "Tina DeLuca's Candy Land - CBBE .3" version as basis. So download that and you should be good (also i didn't use any of those optional files ... i think those are just fixes for the vanilla body version)
