Ok, I may have fixed something. For those of you who have had problems with the Sims 4 not starting with RTBP installed this might fix that. No guarantees, of course, but I found out that there is an option in the compiler I use to embed the requisite C++ standard libraries in the DLL.

This might fix things or at least allow me to gain more information.

If you're up for it, please try it out. Thank you all.

RTBP v0.4-p4-e3 2023-03-23 [Experimental].zip 3.92 MB · 8 downloads

just tried using this, and it immediately crashes, comes up with an error rtbp has crashed.

Had to reinstall sims 4 due to the EA app Origin demise.

RTBP moved to Bin in C drive, d3d9.dll also moved but game wont' load.

I remember this problem earlier but can't remember where exactly the fault is any clue please.

Well shoot. Sorry guys, I thought this might help. If you did get a message box that says "RTBP Has Crashed", though, that means that RTBP has been detected and successfully loaded, but some other error occured within RTBP. Do you remember was the error said? Could I take a peek at your log file?

As said RTBP installed in BIN on C drive.       The d3d9.dll is the part I'm not sure where to reinstall. Pressed play in EA  seconds later not working back to EA.

That's the problem looks like d3d9.dll not in correct spot or some other dll s over riding it which crashed it.

Oh, ok. I think I might know what's going on. I guess with Origin being replaced with the EA App, it would make sense that the installation directories would change. I'll do some research and release a new installer very soon.

Thanks just to let you know up to the replacement everything worked

Excellent. It'll take me a while to update, compile, and test the new installer so for those of you who don't mind manually installing things, I guess the new default place to find your installation is "C:\Program Files\EA Games\The Sims 4\".

Ok, the new version of the installer has been uploaded. This one searches the EA App game install directory for the Sims 4 and also performs some additional tests, such as individually checking for the existence of and loading each DLL that is required for RTBP to function. Hopefully it works well enough. Let me know if there are any problems.

these might be the same, but this is the error that came up.

Alright, I think this might be related to some experimental code I accidentally left in that DLL. Would you mind trying this DLL out? Thank you so much.

Tried that downloader, Norton didn't like like it and spat it out.

The only way I think is manually move the .dll .

Question is what part of the BIN file will it go?

For you, the final destination of the DLL should probably be "C:\Program Files\EA Games\The Sims 4\Game\Bin\d3d9.dll". Just put the DLL in the same folder your game is in. If you see a file named "TS4_x64", you're in the right place. Make sure you don't change the name, though. The file has to be named "d3d9.dll" for the Sims to recognize it and load it instead of the system DLL.

Norton spat it out again.

That's going to happen. Like I've said before, RTBP works kind of like a virus and anti-virus programs aren't going to like that.

According to my BIN file there's 4 dll files. CChromaEditorLibrary.dll ,CChromaEditorLibrary64.dll,python_x64.dll and Simulation_x64.dll.

The other files in BIN are ChromaAnimations, Core, Python, res and RTBP which moved ok.

As mentioned the dll just makes the system reboot.

I managed to get RTBP working all good with the newest version you had.

Issue is, the tailbone at the top of the ass sticks out way to much and looks insanely bugged.

EDIT - Also. It seems to only work when I have clothes on, whenever I make my Sim nude, the physics stop working on the ass

The "d3d9.dll" file included in RTBP needs to be in there as well.

If you're using custom meshes, there's no guarantee that RTBP will work with them. They need to align fairly well with the default meshes. Also, in order for the butt simulator to work, the vertices that make up the butt need to have at least one blend index open. Vertices have a maximum of 4 bones they can be influenced by. In the event that RTBP detects that there are no free blend indexes, it will skip that vertex. If these meshes you're using are very complex, it's possible RTBP wasn't able to find a free blend index.

Nah I get that but the issue that it happens on vanilla sims too with no alterations.

I figured out the reason for the blocky asses btw, it's the whicked whims default body selector that causes it. EVE Body works perfectly.

But pic related is what I mean. I have no idea how to solve it and if there is no solution, is there a way to turn off the animations during sex animations? I mainly use this mod for general jiggle anyway and most sex animations have their own skeleton rigs nowadays.

Edit, sidenote: I also get this error whenever I alt tab too much out of the game now - image.png.7e402395ee8a9559d79d2edebf1c2957.png

Could you post the entirety of that dialog? The bits I need to see are at the top.

I couldn't get it because prnt screen just came up as black for me, I could get that bit alt tab abusing though.

It's pretty much the same as 2023-03-25.png

Shown earlier in the thread. This is using the most recent version you linked on this page btw. So, just to confirm my issues:

1. Spine/tailbone looks really wonky during animations. Almost like the butt moves below the spine causing it to look as if it's protruding more than normal. Tested on both normal sims and base (untouched sims) with bodyslider mods removed.

2. The above error or some variant of it appears whenever alt tabbing out of the game.

On a side note, is there a way to disable the physics during sex animations? As the physics (except for the alt tab crashing) work flawlessly outside of it. It's only during animations when the tailbone/spine looks fucked which could simply be unavoidable or some tinkering with the settings (which I will attempt soon).

EDIT -

So further testing done, no bodyslider mods. Completely base generated sims (only thing I have enabled is EVE wicked wims body selector because the default has the awful window boxing effect on butts) and yea. The spine issue is insanely jarring during sex animations

Alright. Thanks for the information. I'll see what I can do.

Just FYI.

I noticed I can drastically fix the tailbone nature of it through the Commander settings and also, I tried testing with Windowed mode so I can get you a screenshot if it bugged out but numerous alt tabs later and nothing. Lmao, this somehow fixed it (at least for now).

What body selector do you use btw? Just the default in Whicked Whims?
