Crashdown117 Posted September 18, 2021 Posted September 18, 2021 Okay, there are a few things I noticed. You have two venue lists installed, the one that comes with AEP ("Ksuihuh_Venue_List") and the all-purpose one by Basemental ("Basemental-Venue-List"). Delete either of these two files, as multiple venue lists can lead to problems. The one by Basemental includes the lots from all mods that you have and I think the one from Ksuihuh is the same, so just pick one. Your version of the XmlInjector mod is outdated. Your version is v2, while the latest one available is v4. It's available here: https://scumbumbomods.com/#/xml-injector/ I'm not sure about the mods by KawaiiStacie (Slice Of Life etc.), but these tend to get broken by game patches and maybe they haven't been updated to run with the latest game version yet. I would recommend to temporarily remove them from your Mods folder, along with pretty much every other script/gameplay mod that isn't MCCC, WW, BMD or AEP. Then, delete "localthumbcache.package" (which is found in "Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 4") and run the game. Don't worry about your missing mods - as long as you don't save the game, you will not lose anything you did with SOL or other mods. Of course, you can also create a backup of your saves folder before launching the game. Anyway, career progression for your Sim should work now and MCCC should not complain about any exceptions. Next, add your mods back into the game, but not all of them at once. Start with a few (maybe even two or three only), delete "localthumbcache" again and run the game. Try to make some progress with your Sim's career and keep an eye out for any orange notifications. If everything runs smoothly, quit without saving and repeat the above step with another batch of mods. If you encounter any issues, remove the batch you added last from your Mods folder and test those mods one by one to find the culprit. Once you have found it, update the mod (if possible), replace it with a similar mod (if available), or delete it (at least for the time being). Do this until you have tested all of your script mods. 1

omegaroyale Posted September 18, 2021 Posted September 18, 2021 Alright, so I updated the injector, I updated the mods that were outdated, I removed one of the venue lists, I removed all the Kawaiistacie stuff and Personalty Please, but MCCC is still catching an exception when I try to change my career actions. Doesn't matter what I change it to, but something in career isn't working. I'm going to try stripping everything to see if I can isolate the issue and make sure it isn't a problem with MCCC/AEP itself, but it seems to me that those other mods weren't conflicting. mc_lastexception.html

Blandoats Posted September 19, 2021 Posted September 19, 2021 Whenever I get the notification to go to the photo studio and accept to head there the game loads but then I get the error that says I have to restart my game. Going to the neighborhood that has the studio then shows the studio with an exclamation mark above it. After saving and exiting then reloading the game my sim is in the studio but nobody is in there.

This means that some required objects are missing from the studio, so it cannot function properly. Click on it in the world screen and then enter Build mode to check the list of requirements in the upper left corner. Look for entries in red color, as those will tell you what exactly is missing (and how many objects of that type you need).

What Crash said. Some of the items in the AEP studio pack requires DLC so if you don't have the DLC, you can't get it to work. If I remember correctly, what you need for it to work is the Get Famous pack as that gives you the photo booth, the makeup chair and the standing clothes change pedestal. If you have the DLC but when placing the lot and things are missing, it might be glitched. Just bulldoze the lot and before you place it down again, open console with Ctrl + Shift + C then type in bb.moveobjects and place it down again. If it STILL tells you there's an error, try to do what Crash said and just add in the items in yourself. There will be a list on the left hand side which tells you what essential items is needed for the studio to work with the number of items there also. Just find the items in build mode, plop it down and it should work.

The photographer's workplace with the backdrop and lights is actually the one from Get To Work, as is the required front desk. Similar stuff from other packs like Get Famous or Moschino does not work AFAIK (although I only tested Moschino stuff with the phone interaction to hire a photographer and did so quite a while ago). City Living is also listed as a requirement for AEP and probably needed for the whole live cam channel business, which is rather similar to working from home in the Social Media career. I'm pretty sure that you need all three DLC packs (Get To Work, City Living, Get Famous) for the mod to work properly. 1
silencefalls1 Posted September 20, 2021 Posted September 20, 2021 I have just started using AEP and when I make a sex video with the vivux 3000 camera and set the video editor right next to it... it still won't transfer the videos from the camera to the video station.

Shouldn't be the issue, it's worked previously before the update. Also, I'm using the non-cc version from the website.

An exclamation mark above a lot on the world overview screen means that the venue there isn't functional, usually due to some required stuff not being present (actually, that is the only cause I know of). This can sometimes happen "over night", e.g. when kleptomaniac Sims steal stuff from the lot. The Eco Living DLC also has a NAP that allows Sims to just take anything they like, which broke about five or six venues in my game at once. Just place the studio lot again or enter Build mode and fix it manually.
WookieCookie64 Posted September 28, 2021 Posted September 28, 2021 So I need some help here. I can't get the "go to work" part of the mod to work. I can do webcams and all that just fine. No acting part or anything though. I downloaded the latest public version of the mod. I also downloaded the no CC lot and placed it down in the same world as my played household. Made sure to use bb.moveobjects and changed the lot to photostudio. My game says it is version 1.77.131.1030 if that is any help. I have WW installed, the latest version. Why can't I get the "acting" part of this mod to work? Thank you!
Crashdown117 Posted September 28, 2021 Posted September 28, 2021 8 hours ago, WookieCookie64 said: My game says it is version 1.77.131.1030 First of all, update your game to version 1.80, so WW doesn't cause you any trouble. Now, the "acting part" is just some job your Sims can work in and there is no active gameplay (unless you count building skills and completing daily tasks at home to earn a promotion faster). Your Sims will just leave for work and return after finishing their shift - same as Astronauts, Criminals or any other rabbit hole workplace. The studio is for photo sessions and you can just go there whenever you like, although you will have to pay for the session. If you do some live cam sessions and have your Sim gain followers that way (not sure, but you need quite a few, IIRC), you will eventually see a phone message pop up that says something along the lines of "an adult magazine has invited you to take part in a photo session" (you won't have to pay for that session, of course).

So I actually only have the option to be a webcam model? No acting or director. It is very weirdly worded in the mod description then. But thank you for the answer.
Cafferty Posted September 28, 2021 Posted September 28, 2021 (edited) Initially you start as a webcam model, but the career eventually branches off into two paths: acting and production. In the acting branch your sim works toward becoming a full-fledged porn star with requirements and daily activities surrounding staying in shape and looking attractive. If you go the production route your skills and daily activities shift towards media production and researching "rival porn companies" as you work from an editor up the ranks to directing etc. Edited September 28, 2021 by Cafferty

Thank you. Any idea how many subscribers are needed before anything starts to happen.
Cafferty Posted September 29, 2021 Posted September 29, 2021 Not sure exactly, but I don't think it's very high. In one of my plays my Sim has a channel and occasionally uploads videos, but isn't doing the career and has <1000 followers as it's only something done occasionally. Still gets the invites for the photoshoots and gets fan mail. Not sure if it's just a percentage based chance of firing for having a channel or percentage based chance for interacting with the channel (upload, stream, respond to fans etc). It's not super frequent to the point of getting invites every day, but not uncommon. Hard to say because sometimes it pops up at in opportune times and it's one of those events where you either accept and travel immediately or politely decline.

It's definitely tied to the number of fans - and if I wasn't too lazy to search through all of the changelogs, I could tell you the actual number (it was changed last year or so).
Remel Posted October 11, 2021 Posted October 11, 2021 Quick question, I finally updated to 4.3.3 from 4. something much earlier probably 4.2 and now I'm missing at least 2 poses when taking exotic photos. I can't get the splits pose or the covering up pose anymore. Were those removed or more importantly where Can I find those to put back in. I've checked all over and haven't located them or others like it on any site so far.
Crashdown117 Posted October 11, 2021 Posted October 11, 2021 The last update back in July changed some stuff about photoshoots and poses. Some new ones by other creators were made available for use during the sessions, maybe those replaced the ones you are missing. I have only played one or two photoshoots since and I was more interested in the new poses, so I didn't really pay attention to the "old" ones. From the changelog: Quote - Added instances for more poses for a photoshoot by different creators, you need to download them here if you want to use them: here and here and here.
TaCo1234567890 Posted October 15, 2021 Posted October 15, 2021 Is it normal that when your sim made an account she will still have to go to work daily? And if so I can't follow her to the studio. But anyways I thought she will only get an invitation to the studio at a certain level?
Crashdown117 Posted October 15, 2021 Posted October 15, 2021 The live cam channel is something your Sims can do in their spare time, no matter their actual job. It also doesn't change anything about the AEP career, which is still a rabbit hole job like most of the vanilla ones. IIRC, streaming a session can show up as a daily task on lower career levels, but the job at AEP itself is not playable (at least not in the public version - don't know about the one for supporters on Patreon). Photoshoot invitations are tied to the number of followers on your Sim's live cam channel. Once the number of followers surpasses a certain threshold (I don't know the exact value), you will start seeing those invitations every now and then.
