AEP Pornography problems

Im new to modding this game.

 

Is there any way to get the dialogues to appear do should I wait for it to be updated.

Which dialogues are you referring to? Haven't played much lately, but unless the last patch broke something, it should all work fine.

I fixed it. the adult world.com option wasnt appearing earlier.

 

I just deleted the sub folder and moved the folder contents onto the main Mods folder.

Is the photo studio set from Get To Work placed on the lot? Does it work if you try to use it with your played Sim? Is anything else missing in terms of lot requirements (you can check them in Buld mode via the info symbol in the top left corner)?

For me, the photographer is always the last one to show up, usually at the same time as my Sim or even a second later.

I have everything installed and working but the photographer does not show up for me either. Does not show up at my house if I hire one, either.

Since this week's patch broke a lot of mods, if not all of them, I'd say that AEP needs to be updated to work with the latest version of the game.

Hi how often do calls happen, carrier works well my sims has the computer AEP section but I m not receiving any calls even if the lot seems to be correctly installed

Calls happen every now and then, but IIRC, it depends on how many followers/subscribers your Sim has on their AdultWorld.com live cam channel. You can also play through a photoshoot without an invitation call, if you pay for it at the reception desk (an invitation simply means that someone else will pay for it).

 

To make sure that the lot is set up correctly, you can select it and go into Build mode from the world screen. If the lot type at the top left is set to photo studio and all the requirements are met (front desk should have been added to the list with the latest patch), you're good to go.

I download the newest version of AEP Pornography and I still don't have it on my computer AdultWorld.com. I tried to find it on different computers but it is still missing. I also have the newest versions of WW.

How did you install/unzip AEP?

The .zip file you download contains a folder named "AEP_Pornography" and a Venue List file (needed for the photo studio lot, although you can also use Venue Lists from Basemental or LittleMsSam - but only one of them). The folder in turn contains the mod files (one .package and one .ts4script file).

You can either put those mod files directly into your Mods folder at "Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 4/Mods" (not recommended, because it results in a messy Mod folder) or into a subfolder (i.e. by copying the whole "AEP_Pornography" folder from the .zip file). Since .ts4script files are not read properly by the game, if they are deeper than one level of subfolders within the Mods folder, unzipping the download to a new folder is not an option.

In other words, a directory like ".../Mods/AEP_Pornography" will work, while ".../Mods/AEP_Pornography 4.3.3a/AEP Pornography" will not. You should also avoid periods in folder names in general, although the game doesn't seem to have any problems with that.

 

If you find my explanation too complicated (and I admit it might be), please post a screenshot of your mod files in file explorer (open your Mods folder and navigate to your AEP files). Stuff like this is often easier to explain when we both know what the situation looks like.

hi umm the way i install everything are mostly correct but when i choose to work as the webcam girl stuff, my sims just go off work and comes back. i even placed the needed  bb.moveobjects, added venues and change lot type to photo studios, but everytime she went to work theres no option to join her. am i wrong that we can join them to the studios? or do the studio exist just for like a hangout place? thx

The workplace for your pornstar career isn't at the studio per-say. The studio works in a way that once you have gotten a number of fans from the livestream section on the computer, your Sim will receive a call about a certain photoshoot and that's when you can go to the studio and do a photoshoot. Granted that you placed the lot down in the 1st place.

I don't know if this has been asked before (and I can't find it if it has), but I can't seem to be able to make any progress in the Adult World career. The perfomance bar never goes up or down, and the only promoitions I've been able to get are the ones I've gotten through the careers.promotion command. Everything else seems to be working fine so far (Adultworld.com, photoshoot, etc.)

You mean the Pornstar career path? 

There is progression. Just do the task they tell you to do and it will rise. Both the AdultWorld.net and phototaking session won't add up to the progression towards the Pornstar job career, just treat it as a side activity that could up your fame and fortunes because each phototaking session is about 1,500 simoleons earned.

You also need to meet the skill requirements and IIRC that means all of the skill requirements along the way (could be wrong there, though). In any case, if you cheat your way up the progression steps by using "careers.promote" or MCCC (which saves you the typing), you should also up your skills accordingly, just to be on the safe side.

To find AEP, it's in the Gallery. Make sure you've tossed the tray files in your Tray folder and subsequent mods in the Mods folder when you install AEP Pornography. Once you go to the Gallery option on the top right, there's a tab on the left side. Click "Custom Content" and it should do a auto refresh and the studio would appear.

To place it down, you don't need any extra mods outside of WW. You'll have to use "bb.moveobjects" cheat in the console panel to be able to rotate or place the lot so that it works somewhat reliably. 
HOWEVER, to even have the console, you'll need to install a .package file (Basically an unlock mod) to "unlock" the console. Just google "Sims 4 Cheats" and find the website sims-online.com. There will be a link for you to install the console and once you're done, do it as always. Store it in your Mods folder, enter the game and you're done. You can use the bb.moveobjects command and place the studio down.

This is only true for certain cheat commands, most of them related to specific features of DLC packs (like the spells for spellcasters from Realm Of Magic or the weather and seasons from Seasons).

The console itself can simply be opened by pressing Ctrl+Shift+C and Build mode ("bb.") commands shouldn't even require "testingcheats" to be enabled.

Yeah, I mean the porn star career, not the live camming. I've been doing the tasks and trying to "work hard" at the job, but I'm just not seeing any changes in the progression bar. Don't know if its a conflict or something since I do get MCCC flags on it, but yeah, I treat the camming and photoshoots as separate.

Well, if MCCC notifies you of anything, that's always worth looking into - especially if an exception is raised.

 

Aside from that, it is possible to freeze career progress for a Sim (MCCC > Sim Flags > MC Career > Flag Freeze Career). Maybe that flag has been set by accident or maybe it helps if you set it first and then remove it again to "un-stuck" career progression.

I have exception tossed back to me once with the Pornstar career too but I rose up the ranks after that and never got subsequent ones. Just do what the task tells you to and just like normal job, get to the jobsite with a positive mental attitude ie: Happy. 

What I personally find it to be the best mood for that career path and, no joke, is the Flirty moodlet. So, get flirty with your sim before sending them off to work and if you have CinErotiq, even easier.

Did they switch it now? Damn... Used to not work at all without the stupid mod. I'm actually surprised...

I'm not entirely certain how to read these things, but I think that the career is the thing getting flagged. I'm pretty sure I don't have the "no promotions" flag on for careers, but I can check. I've attached a screenshot for shits and giggles.

EA/Maxis keep breaking and fixing stuff with their patches. For me, bringing up the console has always worked, but the behavior of certain commands has been less consistent over the years (like Build mode cheats only working properly with testingcheats enabled sometimes). That's why I use MCCC to automatically enable all the commands that I need or want (like testingcheats, bb.showhiddenobjects, cas.fulleditmode,...), so I don't have to worry about these things. Still, the intended behavior is that most of the well-known console commands work without the AllCheats mod by TwistedMexi.

Yup, that is an exception alright. Without further information, I'd say that your version of the mod might be outdated, but that's just a guess.

If you could upload the whole exception file from your MCCC directory to this thread, we might be able to verify that guess or tell you some more about the error in general.

Sure thing. I updated AEP to the July update (I think it was?). The one that added the awards show. And as far as I know, everything else is up to date.
