nomkaz Posted March 18, 2020 Posted March 18, 2020 SexLab Animation Tag Editor (SLATE) SE View File SexLab Animation Tag Editor (SLATE) SE I DID NOT create this mod, that honor goes to the great BeamerMiasma whom CPU declared M.I.A. and cleared this upload. I simply converted their mod for your use with Skyrim Special Edition. I hold NO claims whatsoever over this mod, it 100% belongs to the original author, and always will. I converted the ESP to Form 44 and ESL flagged it. It was tested by @rodrigo2 who cleared it as working. The following info is copied from the original upload page, and edited to link to SE versions of Mod dependencies: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- SexLab Animation Tag Editor (SLATE) SE What is it? SLATE is a tool for SexLab power users and tag fanatics. Originally it was part of my mod SLEN, but I got some requests to release it as a stand-alone tool for those who don't use SLA and therefor cannot install SLEN. SLATE allows you to load a set of SexLab animations in the MCM menu, select a number or all of them, and then add or remove tags to those animations. This can be used for various things like opening up animations for different gender groups, adding missing Oral/Vaginal/Anal tags to animations, making Doggy/Doggie/DoggyStyle tags uniform, etc. The possibilities are endless. For a practical usage example, check this post, but please don't post any replies regarding SLATE there, use the SLATE support thread instead. Recording functionality When turned on, all actions performed on animations (adding tags, removing tags, disabling) will be recorded in an action log. Note that recording will automatically turn off when you exit the MCM menu. You can re-apply all these actions manually from the Settings tab of the MCM menu. You can also choose to have them re-applied automatically after a SexLab Animation Registry reset. The action log file is stored here: Skyrim\Data\SKSE\Plugins\SLATE\SLATE_ActionLog.json. The format is very simple and the file can be edited manually if you so desire. Example actions are included in the "SLATE_ActionLog - Example.json" file that comes with the installation. If an action is found in your action log that involves an animation that cannot be found on your system (because it is uninstalled for example) it will be skipped, so this is not a problem. If an unknown action is found in your action log it will be skipped and you will receive a message about it after manually applying your action log. This should only be possible if you edited the file manually and made a typo. The action log can be applied repeatedly without problems. If an animation already has a tag that is being added, it will be skipped, and if you try to remove a tag from an animation which doesn't have that tag, it will be skipped. So if you're in doubt whether the action log was already re-applied, just apply it again, it only takes a second or two. Sharing action logs Action logs can be shared with others! If you have recorded a number of actions and want to share them with someone, simply send them a copy of your action log file. You can remove any actions that you do not want to share from the file with a regular text editor. It's best if you rename the file before you share it so others don't overwrite their own action log by accident. Give your file any descriptive name you want, but make sure the extension is always ".json". The receiver can put the received file into their Skyrim\Data\SKSE\Plugins\SLATE\ folder, after which they can import the actions stored in that file into their own action log from the SLATE MCM menu. Translators welcome, contact me by PM if interested. Custom Animation Sets and other files A number of standard Animation Sets are defined, but if that is not enough you can switch to a custom animation set file, a simple json file in which you can define your own animation sets. The file and explaining text file can be found in the Skyrim/Data/SKSE/Plugins/SLATE/ folder. Read the "SLATE Custom Animation Sets.txt" file in that folder before you start editing anything. You can define your own animation sets in the "SLATE_Custom_AnimSets.json" file. This file contains additional helpful comments. If you really know what you're doing, you can also edit the other 2 files in that folder, but this will void all warranty so don't come complaining here if you destroy things In case of emergency just re-install the json files from the download. "SLATE_Standard_Tags.json" contains the standard tags that can be added/removed, and "SLATE_Standard_AnimSets.json" contains all the standard animation sets. Requirements Up to date Skyrim SE. SexLab Framework SE and its requirements SkyUI SE and its requirements Installation Use a mod manager, or just unpack the archive to your Skyrim folder. Slate only contains an MCM menu. As such it is entirely unimportant where you put it in your load order and has no effect on the performance of your gameplay. Upgrading If you have edited your custom animation set file, make a copy of it first! Overwrite the older version. You can choose not to overwrite the custom animation set file if you have edited it. If you chose to overwrite everything, you can recover your custom animation set file from the copy you made. Uninstalling If you used a mod manager, just uninstall as usual. If you did a manual installation, delete the SLATE.esp and SLATE.bsa files from the Data folder, and delete the SLATE folder from Data/SKSE/Plugins/. poisoned Posted March 31, 2020 Posted March 31, 2020 thank you, i have been waiting this ... since.... i forgot... now i need to repack my skyrim SE back on my drive... fallout4 is boring
rodrigo2 Posted October 14, 2020 Posted October 14, 2020 Any SLATE for SE experts here? I've been going through the tagging process. But when I go back to Framework and try to call up an animation by its new tag, the newly-tagged animation doesn't show up. Is there anything else I need to do to disseminate the newly-tagged versions of animations?
Someone92 Posted June 10, 2022 Posted June 10, 2022 Anyone else having the issue that this mod causes CTD on start-up? Whenever I add this mod to my modlist Skyrim won't start, as soon as I remove it, no issues... Skyrim SE btw. 1

It says the file is not for my version of the game (I'm on SE) but it says its SE here, so I'm a bit confused.
Public_Swan Posted December 31, 2022 Posted December 31, 2022 How do I mark a tag to be removed in the JSON? Quote TagsToAdd : List of tags that can be added/removed for this set (comma-separated list). Leave empty to use standard tags But how do I switch it to remove?
Nohrin Posted July 1, 2023 Posted July 1, 2023 If anyone is wondering why they're CTDing with this...its because of the BSA. I used Cathedral Assets Optimizer and extracted the BSA and then deleted BSA and my game loads now. I'm guessing the author of this conversion did something wrong. Surprised nobody has mentioned this after all these years since post.
Caligula Big Posted July 10, 2023 Posted July 10, 2023 Where can i find creature support? I am trying to make all dog and wolf animations have the same tags.

Meeps Posted May 2, 2024 Posted May 2, 2024 For anybody looking for the SLATE Creature Support ya can find it here in the downloads listed as "SLATE_Creature Patch(2023_12_30) .7z" https://www.loverslab.com/files/file/10316-osmelmc-mod-tweaks/ 2
nanaya114514 Posted November 18, 2024 Posted November 18, 2024 After clicking import, the mod page in mcm is stuck. I am not sure whether the console has successfully imported the tags. What I want to ask is if it is stuck, do I need to wait until mcm returns to an active state?
Fraying9981 Posted February 17, 2025 Posted February 17, 2025 Hi, Is it possible to bulk edit animation by filtering by tag instead of animation pack? = instead of selecting Leito animations, for example, select all animations with tag "vaginal" I'm trying to remove tags so Defloration properly works with Devious Devices like chastity belts. Right now for some lesbian animations it triggers the defloration though the belt is on, for example. It's a bit tedious to edit tags one by one, especially after I rerun SL anim loader.
Lady Victoria Posted May 17, 2025 Posted May 17, 2025 HI all, does anybody have a version of SLATE SE without the BSA files to download? Just curious
JennaBunny2020 Posted September 24, 2025 Posted September 24, 2025 Im having a problem where slate doesn't see any action log files other then the example json. Ive tried removing/reinstalling the mod, purging/re-deploying mods, I have verified that all of the json files from the mod zip file are in the folder at skyrim/data/skse/plugins/slate/ but they do not list in the file selection option in the slate MCM. oddly if i delete "SLATE_ActionLog-Example" that option disappears from the list in the mcm. adding it back readds it to the list. But none of the tag files show up to load. Has this happened to anyone else?

Just curious Better late than never with the reply, I hope. Just today I looked into installing SLATE. Figured I'd look through the comments to see if there were any issues. The problem BSA looked like an issue, and then your question seemed like a good one. Well, I downloaded the file and took a look at it one it was installed (not activated) via MO2. I cracked it open and looked at the files. I saw no .bsa file, so I figured it's worth testing. I activated it in my SE (1.5.97) game. Loaded fine. Menu loaded after saving and loading the same. Tried out the menu and it seems to work (though it's not the most intuitive menu in the world). Looks like the .bsa problem was fixed with zero fanfare or announcement.
no_way Posted December 15, 2025 Posted December 15, 2025 Been using this to apply the Hentairim action log to get all the tags applied to my SLAL packs. Is there a way to make these changes permanent to the tags so that they’re already there when SLAL loads the anims into SL? I’m tired of doing it over and over again when I start a new playthrough or to test a new mod.

I think you have to open up the specific animation mod pack an find the Johnson file open with notepad++ an well I have not gotten much further than that but that is how you get started from there should be able to write in the tag an save the file.
lukayn Posted April 10 Posted April 10 Just to clear my little confusion, if i using SexLab P+ i don't need Slate cuz it's integrated into P+... right?
donutfiend Posted May 10 Posted May 10 I can't get this mod to import an action list. I do (click me) and nothing happens. I even waited like 10 min without touching anything, and still nothing.

You'll need to exit to main/desktop, and restart. If you're using an action log you had previously (ie, new game, but no changes made), the action log can be imported immediately. Application of the action log CAN take a while, depending on how big it is, or if you're using SL Utility+. The script changes in SLU+ make registering animations and the SLATE logs take MUCH longer than basic SL does. However, you do not need to wait for the log to be finished. It will apply in the background once the process has begun, and you can continue working on MCM setups, or just start playing. If you open up SLATE after the process has begun (exit MCM, go back in), you can see a progress %.

I am able to select it from the list and (click me) is white. When I click it it just sits there and does nothing. I do have SLU+ installed. Is that normal behavior and I just have to wait a bit, or were you saying I should be able to import right away if things are set up correctly?

Is that normal behavior and I just have to wait a bit, or were you saying I should be able to import right away if things are set up correctly? When you select a set of tags to load and add to the action log, it takes a little bit of time to process. It needs to look through all of your registered animations to see what the changed tags match what available animations. For the Osmel tags, it shouldn't take more than 30s to 1m depending on your machine and mods (like Papyrus tweaks to speed up papyrus scripts). Once that is done, it will give you a confirmation of xxxx tags of xxxx possible. If you have multiple mods with different tags to add (ex Hentairim), run through and add them all one by one. This is building your complete action log. Once that is done, you'll need to exit to main or restart the game. Once back in, open up MCM and the action log should be able to be applied. Again, depending on setup and how many things need to be added, this can take anywhere from 1m to 20m. THIS step however, doesn't require you to stay in the MCM. Once the process has begun, you can run about as you wish, or go back to the MCM and look at the progress.
