When you select a set of tags to load and add to the action log, it takes a little bit of time to process.  It needs to look through all of your registered animations to see what the changed tags match what available animations.  For the Osmel tags, it shouldn't take more than 30s to 1m depending on your machine and mods (like Papyrus tweaks to speed up papyrus scripts).

Once that is done, it will give you a confirmation of xxxx tags of xxxx possible.  If you have multiple mods with different tags to add (ex Hentairim), run through and add them all one by one.  This is building your complete action log.

Once that is done, you'll need to exit to main or restart the game.  Once back in, open up MCM and the action log should be able to be applied.  Again, depending on setup and how many things need to be added, this can take anywhere from 1m to 20m.  THIS step however, doesn't require you to stay in the MCM.  Once the process has begun, you can run about as you wish, or go back to the MCM and look at the progress.

Yeah I get all that, the problem for me is I don't think the button is actually doing anything when I click it. I stay for 10 min after clicking the button in the mcm and nothing changed. I also opened the console and nothing was going on in there either.

The process doesn't show anything in the console, so that isn't an indicator.

If you're continuing to try the process over on the same save, it won't really show anything yes or no.  I'd bet that in one of your attempts, the process began and finished without any confirmation.  The only process confirmation that is sent is if you wait in the MCM after clicking "apply action log", in which case it will pop up an MCM box that it has been completed.  If it is left to process in the background, there won't be any feedback.  Trying the process again, it will basically see that the tags are there and complete pretty automatically, without any confirmation.  The process will even continue on restart if it hadn't completed.

One thing you can do to confirm, is to look at the action log .json file, and get an example animation tag that has been set up to be added/removed.  Then open up SLATE in the mcm, and look for that animation in its system - each registered animation is present with all associated tags.  Look to see if that animation is showing/missing the tags referenced in the Slate Omsel action log.  It'll take a little bit of poking, but you can get confirmation.  I'd put my money on the process having been completed.

I just checked and my action list didn't change, I am also not getting the option to re-apply recorded actions still.

Also, I created a small sample action list just to see if it would show up and it did, only when I click to delete it that button does nothing either.

Weird, so the action log isn't importing anything?

Well, I've got a brute force option for you, since it sounds like you're only trying to import the Omsel slate tag updates...

Copy and rename the "SLATE_ActionLog - OsmelMC.json" file to "SLATE_ActionLog.json".  Then start up and try to apply that.  It will attempt to add/remove tags from animations you likely don't have, but it won't cause any issues (just longer to process).  But it should at least get something working... unless there is a basic mod failing somewhere, which would be good to confirm as well.

The files should be in the same path as eachother, so a simple Copy - Paste - Rename should do.

Hope that works out for you.  :)  🤞

If it were only so simple lol. I need to import 2 action logs and I am unsure what it is supposed to look like with 2. If I only needed the one I would have done that already. I tried just copying both into the same file by hand but I does not recognize the file at all when I do. Maybe I made a mistake when I tried, but If I can see an action log with multiple imports, maybe I can built it by hand from there. Either way, thanks for trying friend!

Edit: I managed to get it working, I did another pass of just reinstalling any mod I thought might be getting in the way of SLATE functioning properly and It finally worked as in intended. I narrowed it down to like 10 mods but IDK which one it was lol. Really weird cause I just installed the exact same versions I already had except for 2 that got updated last night and this morning but I had issues before those got updated so idk if one of those was the problem or not. Either way, thank you so much for trying to help!

Glad it eventually ended up working for you.  Would be great to know WHY it wasn't, but we don't always get what we want..  :)

For future reference, adding the stuff from one file to another manually would work.  But, there are formatting requirements for .json files to be read correctly.  Each item in a list/array ends with a comma separator.  However, the last item needs to NOT have a comma.  So if you just copied one onto the other, somewhere in the middle, one line is missing the comma.  That is why it wouldn't recognize the file.  I've done that before when manually editing/correcting, and had to go hunt it down before.

Ahhh thats where it messed up for me. I'll keep it in mind for next time lol.

Okay so I'm trying to import the OsmelMC Action log in a new game. I am able to select it from the list and (click me) is white. When I click it it just sits there and does nothing.  I do have SLU+ installed. Is that normal behavior and I just have to wait a bit, or were you saying I should be able to import right away if things are set up correctly?

I imported the OsmelMC and Nymera action logs with SLU+ installed and then watched my papyrus.0.log. It took nearly 50 minutes for the entire set of tag changes to apply.  : )
