companion Meet Companion Ivy

Hi!

 

I have a strange problem with Ivy's radio. The radio with the music station works, but the other one (with the ads) doesn't work. Nothing comes up at all.
Have I missed something? Is there a trigger that deactivates it?
I have already done a radio reset via the control panel, but that didn't change anything.

Does anyone have any idea what the problem could be?

Backtrack to the save you made when the quest started (and the popup came that you should make a hard manual save).

Redo the quest and check out the gameplay tips here:

Ivy keeps randomly returning the wedding ring I gave her back to my inventory and removing all the custom armor I made her wear and reverting to her sexy synth outfit.

I have max affinity with her and the "MARRIED" entry in in her terminal in her bunker.

Never used to happen in my last playthrough with her, dunno what's caused this bug.

I'm guessing it has something to do with her affinity being bugged somehow.

 

I'm tempted to "recycleactor" her but she uses custom affinity points which I don't know how to set.

And it might fuck up and reset her quest progression.

Sounds like an AAF issue.

Recycleactor won't help (I mean at all).

This is not Ivy related, but most likely an animation mod you have using AAF is trying to undress her.

I don't have AAF installed nor any animation mods...

Then it's some other mod trying to undress her. Maybe a pool mod, clothing mods or who knows? There's thousands of mods. Check your load order for mods that mess with clothing or undress NPC's at certain points. It's the only hint I can give as Ivy doesn't have systems in place that make her undress herself in that manner.

There is a corrupted image file, ivy_art_misc01, not sure how to fix it or if I should delete it. I would rather have the image that's supposed to be there.

It's unused and you can ignore it. A previous version of something in one of the holotapes.

Hello Reginald, first thank you for creating such good companion, 

I have some questions about Ivy's dialog, I have played for 30h with Ivy, and I heard many good conversations in the early game like her comment about Marcy Long, Skinny Malone, I love when her merge in to the vanilla conversations. However she became silent in the later game, she will not join in the conversation with Vegeir or the Father while in the main quest, I looked it up in the Fo4Edit and saw some dialogs， am I doing anything wrong that made these lines can‘t be triggered?  I ran some health tests and didn't find anything wrong.

 

And Could you give me some hints that what will go wrong if I use Version 6.0 translation patch or change the race of Ivy？ will this cause malfunction？

Sometimes the engine doesn't trigger her dialogue, no worries about that.

As for the translation patch, I don't know, sorry. I never used it or tested it.

Hi I just installed and for some reason, the radio station has no sound. I get the quest to tune in to the station, but no audio plays, this is also the case when I turn on the radio inside Ivy's place. Any idea what I can do?

Edit: Actually I just converted all of the radio .xwm files to .wav and had a listen to the start and middle segments of each one for a few seconds, and I can't actually hear anything that sounds like the audio that plays in the walkthrough video. Is it possible that this file is placed elsewhere or accidentally removed?
(PS. I SUPER love the Dalek references)

I'm coming back to Fallout 4 after a long absence and thinking about creating a playthrough with Ivy as a companion. I'm half remembering reading a long time ago that Ivy was way overpowered.

Any thoughts?

You can adjust (nerf) her fighting style in her configuration holotape.

1) Don't alter the files, lol.

2) Recruit Ivy as normal, then when you get the controller holotape check the debug options to reset the radio quest.

Okay, now with some time spent with her...not just "a cool follower" i wrote before.

Without spoilers, this is simply a friggin masterpiece and imo, w/o exagarration, does put even everything Beth did in Fo4 to shame.

 

Man, thx a lot for this. First was long not sure, if the mod is for me. A sex robot, hmm...did never expect this being so much much more!! The way you wrap up the story, the notes, did just blew me away!

Though it definitely wouldn't be for long. it's crazy, but she easily makes every companiion feel like hollow shells compared to her
Again man, seriously, this mod is to me a masterpiece, so so good! The music, story, metaphors, holos and so cool written notes that have you get slowly more and more into her background, amazing! Together with the Machine and Her my absolutely favorite mods!

I am on level 50 and have had Ivy since the beginning but she will not ask to find the Mercy Journals, does anyone know how to maybe start it with a console command?

 

My game has about 50 mods in it, not sure if that is what is causing ivy not to ask for me to find her Journals.

Hello Reginald, i have another question and hope you can help

It's about the XDI patch for Ivy. I got the pop up in game and all time thought i have it installed, but i realized i didn't Now that i was thinking about installing it, on the posts of said patch i read it isn't necessary for the newest Ivy version of your mod. Is that true?

 

I ask because i've read that the patch fixes lag on dialogue and i notice i have a tiny lag on Ivy's answers. Also, i read there is a dialogue to have sex with Ivy, that i never saw so far. My relation with her is in love and i am at the Robotic Assimilation quests, in case it's simply because of the progression.

 

Thanks again for any help and also, again, again, again, for this awesome mod! The King pelican, bunny, the pieces of lore puzzles that slowly come together and the way they get revealed,  the quality of it is again^^ just friggin awesome to me! I could imagine this having been a crazy good movie, if you ever plan making one hehe^^

 

Edit: Another question, do you have a paypal? I'm not rich nor that wealthy, but since i started using mods (still quite a newb) i'm happy to donate for mods that obviously took a lot of effort and time. I feel always a bit bad using all these just for free. Even if it's just a price of a dlc i donate. I think this is least one can do and shows appreciation. Thanks.

 

Edit 2: I tried and guess patch was needed. It now show some correct dialogues. Also found an answer to the Ivy sex option, as it works by the dirty dialogue option. So nvm
Still, my question on first Edit is still open^^

I'm sure the author knows better, but do you frequently open her service menue and choose the archive memory dialogue or ask her for her thoughts? From what i got it needs you to talk often to her to progress. That's what worked for me. Sry if the answer is an obvious "yes". Then i guess there's something else.

I'm pretty sure people do enjoy it. Tbh, i didn't expect this mod being so much. From description it says it has quests, but i feel it can be missed a bit. I personally never thought of this being so much more. And why not having a paypal for people donating if they choose to do. Idk, but to me i'm happy when i can return something when feel it's more than deserved.
However, tyvm again man for this great story and cool companion that easily puts all companions in original game to shame.

question - did you get and complete the quest "Into the Deep" (dive into Ivy's memories)?

that quest must be completed before she will ask you to find her journals.

 

to get that quest make sure to talk to her a lot.  get her thoughts etc.  have her tell  you stories etc.

I talk to her all the time....and had killed several clients for her. To try to get it to start I go to her bunker with her and ask about the picture of Mercy.

 

No into the deep quest, and not telling me to find any journals.

 

I have played with her on another playthough and went pretty far in her quests.

 

Is there a command console command I can use to start into the deep?
