Redeem Ivy Quest doesn't start.

No matter what I tried I couldn't get the initial quest to start. This is for those having the same issue.

Go in the root cellar in Sanctuary where Ivy is located.

Open the cosole and target her.

Once you have her targeted use "openactorcontainer 1" to open a trade window with her, then close the console.

Take the control holotape from her and close the trade window.

Use the holotape and use the "Start GOAT" function. After choosing your settings she will follow you as intended.

I'm guessing that you are running an older version of Ivy, pre-6.0, as Ivy is not located in the Sanctuary Root Cellar anymore. Her home location has been moved outside of Sanctuary, just off the trail that runs between Sanctuary and Vault 111.

If you are running an updated version of FO4 with an older version of Ivy, you can expect that there will be problems as the earlier versions of Ivy were made to work with earlier versions of FO4.

If this is the case, I would suggest that you wipe your game, completely uninstall the older version of Ivy, and install the newest version. Then start a new game.

Just finished Ivy's Nuka World quest, and I must fully endorse this mod, it's creator and the team that went together to bring this exemplary piece of storytelling. No mod is completely bug free, I personally only experienced minor glitches here and there, nothing I couldn't workaround. This is a quality product, while being adult in nature surpasses offerings by leading software publishers.
Thank you.

Thanks for the reply, it has helped. I definitely didn't have the "Neural Controller Holotape", so something did go wrong with the quest transition. I was able to search for & console command the holotape however & I'm away again. Cheers.

Excuse me Sir? Would you tell me the holotape console related to into the deep?

I just came back when I hit Nuka World and realized I was still running Ivy 5.3.

I am running a slightly older version of FO4, V.1.10.163 becuase I don't want any CC bullshit and I have well over 100 mods which I don't feel like hunting down updates for.

Before I started my current playthrough I disabled all my that add locations or companions. fusion city, heather, etc etc, and other then the start Ivy has been working perfectly.

I'm hoping I can just install 6.1 over 5.3.

6.1 (like 6.0) needs a fresh savegame with no previous version of Ivy active. Also if 5.3 (or any previous version) was installed manually, any loose scripts with the name 'ivy' in it should be removed from the install.  Otherwise the old Ivy install should be removed with the mod manager used to install it. Disabling is not enough, it needs to be completely removed. Overwrite is not an option.

Yeah, I already realized that and it's pretty irritating.  :(

Anyways, after manually removing the old files, putting in the new files, and starting a new game, Ivy is confused. Whenever I hack a terminal, she comments as if she had done it. Also, she no longer comments when I find porn mags, she does however always comment when I find regular mags seemingly mistaking them for porn mags. Other then that the mod is working normally.

I have over 2000 files in the data\scripts folder and none of them have "ivy" in the name. Is there anything by another name I should be looking for?

Note: I've disabled AFT and any other mod that adds companions, new areas, or new quests. I know all that by heart this playthrough is just for the Ivy content.

While trying to complete the "Nice Rack" quest, all of my weapon hot keys stopped responding.  All of my weapons keys (1-0 and the "F" key) no longer respond.

Is this glitch connected to this mod?  Anyone know a fix?

Completely unrelated. The NR quest is literally just a small fetch quest that does nothing with hotkeys or any of that stuff.

Thank you.  I have no idea what caused the issue so I ended up starting a new game.  Sucks to start completely over but at least all the keys work.

Okay. Ivy is all updated and started a new game. As soon as we get out of her home she starts getting pissed at my character. I don't like that, you're starting to irritate me, stop messing with my reality and stuff like that. I have no idea why. I haven't even gotten to sanctuary with her yet. The only Ivy mods I have are the ones from your page. It's bad enough when my wife gets mad and I have no idea why but now it's happening in a game also? Wth??

found the fix for this I got the same issue?

The likely cause for this reaction from Ivy is that you have deliberately, or some other mod, is changing Ivy's scale to something below 0.98

Do not try to set Ivy's scale below 0.98

The mod description (which all users should have read) explains the reasoning for this.

If you have the Companion Shoots at Player Fix installed, that may be conflicting with Ivy's AI, even though she doesn't use the Vanilla Companion AI. @Reginald_001 would have a better idea if this is possible than I would though.

Do you have anything that randomizes NPC bodies? Like Autobody or BodyGen?

One of these may be trying to set Ivy's scale to below 0.98.

a lot of things in there that alter Vanilla NPC mechanics, but nothing jumps out at me as being the possible culprit.

Try loading your modlist in FO4Edit and running a conflict filter to see where things are going sideways.

These games from Bugdesta are not "multi-companion" games and so sometimes strange things happen.

In this DLC the robot ADA (equipped with the M-Sat) is supposed to open these doors - but since Ivy is our primary companion - she has to take over this scanning (unwillingly) ... she is the person who is first in the multi-companion system.

The important thing is that the doors open ... everything else is completely irrelevant.

I now have a new issue, sometimes when I open the inventory for her the game just gives me a ctd, also her inventory is just invisible

I found the solution, it was a mod conflict but I solved it. I do have another question, how can I change her weapons? She has both a 10mm and a pipe pistol but she always equips the pipe pistol again even if I manually have her equip the 10mm (which deals more damage)

take all the ammo out of her inventory except the type for the weapon you want her to use.

if she has .44 magnum ammo but no weapon she will use her default weapon (which is a .44 magnum hand cannon) which does more damage

than a pipe pistol or 10mm pistol.

and yes she only needs 1 round of ammo to use it and not run out (unless you have another mod that changes default companion ammo usage).

Ivy is stalking me!
I sent her to a settlement, but she keeps teleporting to me at different intervals, even when I'm in a building for a mission with another companion.
I have disabled teleporting in the settings, but she still keeps teleporting to me.
Sometimes I have to save and / or do nothing for a while before she finally stops appearing.

Any idea what could be causing this?

Ivy verfolgt mich!

I assume - that you use one of the multi-companion systems? That can lead to conflicts - the only system that works properly is the one recommended by the author.

Otherwise... why would you park the strongest combat companion in a settlement? That's actually the purpose of Ivy!
