Never heard of that happening before.  That sort of sounds like the bug that happens when you use 8K skin textures.  I posted a fix for that several pages back on this thread.

EgoBallistic, hope you can help me. So Get Dirty works on one companion only. Question is how you can clean your prior companion if you switched/ added another one when prior one was not clean? I have recruited Piper when Ivy was not very clean and any attempts to clean her is not working. Tried dismissing Piper but it did not help.  Any commands I can use to force her clean ? Thanks in advance.

Get Dirty detects when you switch companions and cleans the old one automatically.  But there are bug reports about Ivy never getting clean on her mod support thread, even without being dismissed.  So I don't know if Get Dirty is good to use with her.

 

In any case, you can use console commands to remove the dirt.  First we need to find the plugin ID for Get Dirty.  To do that, use:

 

    help getdirty 4 qust

 

that will reply with something like:

 

    QUST: CS7_GetDirty (22000F99)

 

The plugin ID is the first 2 digits of the form ID, so 22 in the above example.  Then select Ivy in console and run the following 3 commands:

 

    removespell 22017C9D

    removespell 22017C9E

    removespell 22017CA0

 

replacing '22' with whatever your plugin ID was.

Has anyone tried Nothing Fancy Hot Showers?  I understand that it probably isn't going to integrate with the dirty mods but I'm about to ditch CWSS / Universal Working Bathroom Fixtures due to a bug happening about every other time I try to shower where the game soft locks (still get game sounds but screen freeze and no controls).  It's the only "crash" I get with my load order (so far, knock on wood...) so I'm suspecting it's something to do with those 2 mods but I wanted to still have an option to shower to remove rads, and Nothing Fancy Hot Showers apparently does that and doesn't add any charisma buffs etc.

 

(Edit: I was already aware of the potential incompatibility with CWSS / Dirty Sex but in looking at posts on the previous pages here I was holding out hope that I could manage to get them to work by turning off cwss buffs and using get dirty textures but the crashing is a deal breaker)

 

Also I'm checking out Craft Soap at Chemistry Station since I'm a new player and I have not seen soap in the game yet (although I understand from the wiki that there are places to get it, but not accessible to me yet).

 

Oh, I wonder if I could start the shower from the first mod I linked and then touch the soap...  I'll try that when I get a chance.

I don't know about the "Flashy Shower" mod.
But the "Build Your Own Pool"-mod (https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/13316 ) includes showers (for simple cleaning and also one for RAD removal).
And it is working with "Get Dirty" and "Dirty Sex".

I hadn't heard of it before.  I just downloaded it and will check it out.  Assuming the showers are activated like furniture, it should be simple to add them to the formlist that lets them work with Get Dirty and AAF Dirty Sex.

I did that for RP purposes in the Institute.  But yeah that's always an option - just put the soap in the soapdish or on a nearby table, activate the soap, then activate the shower, or vice versa.

I've been relying on that for a long time, since I play with hardcore (but reduced) radiation effect enabled and it can be hard to find a bar of soap early in the game or after I get robbed/abducted. For example, depending on where I wind up being a captive, there's often a chemistry station and sufficient junk items to provide the necessary ingredients. It would be great if that mod also made soap craftable at cooking stations, since those tend to be even more plentiful and it would make sense... after all, in the real world you don't need a chem lab to make soap, you can do it with any simple heat source.

 

On a related note, I find Fight Club Soap Retexture makes bars of soap easier to spot when scavenging, and generally easier to find under some conditions after you've dropped to activate bathing. Also it's just plain amusing. ?

Here is a patch for Nothing Fancy Hot Showers that makes work with Get Dirty and AAF Dirty Sex.  It works for both the player and companions - you can order your companion to "inspect" the shower and they will get clean with it.  Just install and let it overwrite the script files.

Just wanted to check back in and say many many thanks Egoballistic for whipping up that script fix today, I've tried 1 of the showers from 'Nothing Fancy' a few times and it's working.  I'd also added the Get Dirty Additional Effects and all the showers I've taken so far have reset to clean buffs etc.  And the shower has super cool looking purple water

 

Only thing I'll need to look into tomorrow is dirt textures.  The dirt is removed from the body (torso) just fine once the shower is completed, but my face and hands seem to stay dirty.  I started this character in 'survival' mode, don't know if that makes any difference.  I'm using Kziitd Fusion Girl Non-Realistic Skin, and looking in MO it says it's winning all the file conflicts with the only other folder that has skin textures for females which is the actual Fusion Girl mod folder.  It comes with dirt textures for the different body parts, I'll have to do some reading.

That shouldn't happen but I've noticed it as well.  It's a bug in the mod itself.  If you place a new shower it works normally, but if you leave the area (fast travel away, etc) and return, or reload your save, one of the mist textures doesn't load so you get a purple mist.  There are a few other mods with transparent textures that act this way (notably Housekeeping and Snappy Housekit) but I've never seen a solution for it.

Sorry if this isn't 100% on topic for this mod's help section but I wanted to follow up on my previous post in case anyone has the same issue. 

 

The default overlay textures from Looksmenu Compendium are low resolution, and I'm using the 1k head from Non-Realistic Skin.  The only thing I came up with is someone saying that some discoloration can occur when using lower resolution overlays with a higher resolution face causing it to look "dirty".    I could try and use 2k face textures along with the optional 2k texture package from Looksmenu Compendium but I was concerned about the face and body textures no longer matching as well as potential performance issues. 

 

Ultimately my solution was to remove every single overlay from my characters face and body and made a new preset for that.  It actually does seem better now, the face looks clean when it is supposed to.  The bad news is she doesn't have freckles anymore, but the good news is that she learned how to wash her face properly...

Wondering if any of you can pick up the soap without the game freezing after cleaning yourselves, i don't really know what could make it freeze...

 

So if you can that means there something else messing with the base mod

Soap works fine for me, don't think I've ever had a freeze from picking it up.  It's not calling any animations, not sure why that would happen.  Check if anything else is changing the record for soap by opening up all your mods in FO4Edit and maybe take a look at the load order, make sure Get Dirty is loading first, before Dirty Sex.

Checked the soap item in FO4Edit and everythings good and Load Order is Get Dirty and after that Dirty Sex.

 

I don't get it,  picking the soap when i find it is ok, then i drop it on the ground and use it to have the small menu.

 

When i select clean it's a ok but when i select pick up the soap it freeze... if yours works well then it must be something else messing with the activator or something like that...

 

Maybe another mod interference by scrips maybe... i got nothing with FO4edit...

 

Humm having the same problem when trying to eat directly on the floor when pressing x

 

No problem with refill bottles and no problem with Willpower....

Using "Eating off the Floor"?  If it makes any difference, I have that loading pretty far down the order, well after dirty sex.

It seems they don't log it since i freeze and not crash, after it freeze i switch users in windows and turn it off with system manager

 

There is no log registered in my document folder for buffout

Anyway i don't really want to hijack the Dirty Sex thread since the pick up soap works well for other users.

 

thanks for the help, i can easily workaround it and i will try disabling/enabling when i will do a new game to see what is making it freeze

 

Edit1 :  For anyone having the problem in 3rd person a work around that works fine is to pick it up in 1st person there is no freeze in 1st person, found that while investigating my problem

 

Edit2 : scracht that i think i may be tired...it worked once but every others time i freeze so i don't know why still at step one   Hell i will leave the soap down so somebody can slip on it haha

Soap with this hasn't caused problems for me, but eating and drinking off the floor did result in random freezes, Since replacing it with Hydrate and Eat Conveniently which hasn't exhibited the same issues for me. Also Immersive Animation Framework to handle the visual component.

Trying to know why   but at least the washing part works 

 

I use Consume without pickup https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/45072 and it work really well no freeze for now (cross my fingers)

 

Wanted to replace with the new option in Advanced Need 76 but it also make my game freeze so i keep Consume without pickup and turn off the option in the other mod

Hi, Get Dirty is a pretty old mod and I'm not wanting to use it. 
I am, however, really wanting to use this mod.

I'm wondering if you'd consider talking to the original mod author and perhaps taking the dirt (without the constant addition of dirt that that mod focuses on) and the bathing, and adding it to your mod, perhaps as a standalone mod for people who aren't interested or are wary of GD but are keen on this idea, Tats After Rape and similar.

 

(edit) Sorry if you're seeing a lot of me in your mod comments, I'm trawling your mod list to prepare a new playthrough with some enlightenment from my current playthrough (/edit)

I have wanted to do this for a while.  I also dislike the constant addition of dirt; it doesn't make sense to me that you can go to bed in your house and wake up dirty.  I would like it to be event driven rather than based on a timer.  For example, getting into combat, falling from a height, entering an underground area, etc, would increase your dirt level.

 

There are no permissions issues with the textures and such, as the author was kind enough to allow free use of the assets from Get Dirty.

 

The obstacle right now is my backlog.  I will plan to do this at some point, but I am working on too many other things at the moment.
