Until it wasn't. LOL NG is garbage.

Uninstall the last mods one at a time that you've recently added. Or, just start a new run and see if things are hard broke or isolated to the current run. Then start uninstalling mods, new run... test....... rinse & repeat.

I would suggest the 50/50 method, but it has to be recently add mod/s or NG just randomly broke.

I disabled everything, started a new game, enabled a few mods at a time, no change still no face tattoos (using 1k) and no aff animations even though it shows aaf loaded and is running. its got to be a new stupid update from beth

Is there a way to pin down specific tats being applied to me? one face tattoo is giving me purple face after Tats after Rape applies it & no clue what it is

The tats are packed in a ba2 which is not "compatible" with NG.

So, you can either downgrade the game so mods works correctly or unpack the ba2 files so they are loose files which always overrides the ba2, but are slower to load.

Dunno if there's a mod that fixes the pre NG ba2 header to work with the NG version, but there are a couple that makes NG version ba2 work with pre NG.

 

Oh, to remove tattoos, use the looksmenu. If they're part of a "set" the entire set will be removed. If you look in the download (which you should always do) you'll find a file with all the names of the tattoos to make finding them easier.

 

One more thing, if a mod added a set of tats, it might not show up in Looksmenu because they are not flagged as playable and are only added/removed via script. Which means you have to use a preset to get rid of them. Or edit the mod to flag them as playable.

anyone else have issues with face tattoos not applying, i go to to menu and when i chose an option it does not appear anywere on the face/neck area. The tattoos on the body work but not the face. If anyone could help id appericiate it.

A few tattoos are turning bodies purple, BOS 01 and a few of the BBC ones, not sure why it's only those. I can just remove them from my character when CWS applies them automatically, but I can't remove them from NPCs

Edit: Found the problem, something to do with tissemann's "The Previous Girl" mod.

None of them are showing up as overlays but a few neck tatts are available in the 'extras' section.

Just installed Wasteland of Depravity mod list. Comes with captive 3.3 and 1.6.20 looksmenu. A bunch of other overlays show up like DNX's and Lewdmarks but no Cap.

I usually only use maybe 15 of these tattoos.  Is it hard to make the rest not show up in Looks Menu?  I'm not a modder, so I have no idea how to do that.  I've only done simple things like change stats on clothes/armor in CK.

having trouble I installed the mod as far as I know, but even if the game launches I am not seeing the overlays in my menu when I open it.

this mod is great and the tatoos are really hot but they get hidden in the AAF scenes for me, do you know why this is?

I have characters plastered in tattoos and don't have this problem.

Not entirely sure why, but when I pull up LooksMenu, I see the options for all the face tattoos in there. However, when I select and apply them, they will not appear. Possible issues? Facial texture problems? Every other tattoo works on the body, just not the face...

Have same issue where facial tattoos are not visible when applied.  Body tattoos in this mod work, and other face tattoos that aren't in this mod also work.

Do you have installed HiPoly Faces or HiPoly Faces Redux,  Scripted Facial Tints, Extended Facial Sculpting, Realistic Facial Proportions, or Random Overlay Framework from Invictusblade?

 

These all can mess with tattoos, Load Order is very important here. 

Other mods that can 'erase' tattoos are, All Things Natural, AAF Hardship, TSEX Hardship, Commonwealth Slavers, any mod that 'fixes' headrear textures, the list is large.

They chose to install 2K textures, that's why. They have to install 1K unless the user really understands what they're doing.

You know, I completely forgot about that.

I used Paint.net to scale all my face textures and such to 2048 x 2048.

 

This was so far back in time, I forgot about it completely.

Maybe what I posted can get them to know where to look, otherwise hopefully no foul intended.

Trying to make sure I don't have 2K textures installed, but still not working. I disabled all my mods in Vortex except for these:

• Fallout 4 Script Extender
• Address Library - All in One
• Bodyslide and Outfit Studio
• Fusion Girl
• Fusion Girl Looksmenu Sliders and BodyGen
• LooksMenu
• Mod Configuration Menu
• Zex - ZaZ Extended Skeleton
• Captive Tattoos

Still not working, not sure what else I can try. Those are the minimum requirements for this mod to work right? No mod conflicts with just those. Had a fully working setup with around a hundred mods on a previous computer before Bethesda ruined things, doing this on a fresh computer with all mods recently downloaded, going off what the previous computer had as a reference. Was able to work through all the issues with other mods, this is the one remaining issue I have. Any suggestions would be welcome, but I'm all out of ideas other than just nuking all the installation files and starting from scratch, and I'd really like to avoid that.

I mean, you're installing my face tattoos in 2K when you should be choosing 1K. If you can see body tattoos but not facial tattoos, that's the reason.

I just realized that I'm an idiot and I didn't understand what you were saying.  You were saying when I install your mod, to choose the 1K option unless I have a 2K face texture mod. I misread and thought you were saying that I installed a 2K face texture and your mod only worked with a 1K face.

Yeah it works now.  Just had to uninstall your mod on Vortex (disable doesn't work, have to pick uninstall for others stuck like me), and then re-install it and choose 1K when prompted.  Thanks for your reply, hopefully others who have this problem see this.
