When you payed all your depts in the dark arena, just talk to the argonian guard at the exit (there is only one).

But if you want to take back your gear, you need to talk to the moneylender (an argonian, again), and give him 2000 septims. I know you were also stripped of your money... you can recover it by working and gambling ! :)

Working on some pictures still getting a new file ready which is such a pain in the ass cause I have too many mods. Don't have any music/soundtrack ideas either thought about some from Darkwood but nah not the correct feeling in those soundtracks either. Not like there's a convenient way to just download the tracks either at the moment. The system of DA is very simple : plahyer and his opponent are set essentials. If health drop below 10%, you loose, and the defeat event occurs.

 

The idea of randomized weapons comes from the serie Spartacus, episode "the pit". It was the origin of the mod. As you may saw, the rules in Dark Arena are not fair : your opponent in the pit have better chances to get a weapon than you, except the dice and the roulette, the games are set to increase the casino chances to win, when enslaved the jobs you done pay very little, as slave in the pit you understand some pit fights are cheated (your can receive orders to loose the match, or win it, depends of the casino interest).

 

Dark arena have no dependencies with amputator, skooma whore, etc.... the big black jack event can trigger you be thrown outside like a garbage with lot of skooma in your stomach, and it will trigger skooma whore if you have it, but that's all. If you don't have it, it will trigger nothing.

You can buy skooma in the mod too...

 

I don't think amputator is a good thing : after all, the arena need her fighters healtfy to make money, and the clients to come back and spend it on gambles, fights, and whores.

Be raped front of all the spectators is not enough as bad event ?

If you want, I could set alternatives (for example, the dancer job (not as slave), let you choice to sleep with client or not). I already include an option to be stripped if you wear a outfit instead of being naked if you loose.

If you gamble without enough money, Irellen will increase your dept. As fighting yourself, you're "employee" of the dark arena, and I don't think you can actually fight.

 

 

For taverns music :  i listen these which can be close to what I think could be good for a shaddy tavern like dark arena.

This mod is fantastic. Fun to play (and gamble) and integrates with SS++ incredibly well. Highly creative and I don't think there are very many, if any, mods that fill quite the same niche or are executed quite as well.

 

 

Would be interesting if there was content added in the future that allowed for a storyline for enslaved player characters other than paying off one's debt. Could be a story that ends in either choosing to become a permanent slave or taking control of the Arena itself...? Maybe some sort of training storyline to prepare to serve customers? Mainly just enjoy the idea behind the mod, had a good time playing it, and wish there was even more of it

 

 

Some technical stuff I noticed also if you don't mind some more feedback:

 

- When enslaved, the collar doesn't seem visible for some reason. It's equipped and I can't equip other neck gear, but the collar itself is invisible even though it wasn't for earlier versions. This could just be a problem on my end but not sure.

 

- The individual blackjack seems to be broken, or at least I wasn't able to win no matter how many times I played, even when I got 21 on multiple occasions. The high stakes blackjack game works fine, oddly enough.

 

- I genuinely mean no offense with this one because again, the mod is great and I had no major problems understanding the story or what was going on at any point while playing, and maybe this is just a dialect thing, but the dialogue could possibly benefit from being edited by another English speaker because at some points conversations were a bit jumbled or confusing. I'm not sure if there's an easy way to do this or how much text is involved but if there was a way to post the mod's dialogue online I or someone else could maybe proofread and make some changes here or there just to help improve flow. Just a suggestion n obviously not necessary for enjoyment.

 

EDIT: Not sure if this is a bug, but if it's not may want to lower the amount of work you have to do before you get to meet the boss. Did like 10 pitfights and 10+ of the other work events n I didn't get the prompt. Think doing it a few times would be enough to experience everything without things feeling too repetitive. Also is there an option to get the girl back other than the high stakes blackjack game? It kind of sounds like there should be given the dialogue about distracting the important person but I haven't been able to unlock it.

Dark arena was intented to stay a ittle mod, so I don't think I'll implement major changes.

 

You can take the DA control in the side quest (of course, you need to complete the mod story quest first!). You'll be able to visit the place an earn weekly cut on the DA profits.

I didn't know about the side quest, how do I start it? I tried talking to a bunch of people after I had cleared it and I didn't see any prompts but maybe I just missed it

 

And bummer about no plans for more major content patches, was interested in seeing more story/ero content from this mod, but even small updates are good.

 

If you ever find out a way to post the dialogue online, like in a Google doc or something, should post it here or somewhere else. Could set it up such that people can add notes but not directly edit the text, and those notes would be fixes for whatever lines of dialogue that you could then just copy/paste into the mod. If something like this existed I'd contribute since I enjoy this mod

 

Will continue to download patches for this in the future and look forward to your next mod

Obviously it is your mod, not mine, and it is great as it is.

 

The way I use it, is that my characters are only accessing it through Defeat and Simple Slavery++, not as going down the dungeon themselves and becoming an employee.

Looking from your perspective, you are absoluty right.

From my perspective, it would be more logical if the Simple Slavery++ hook would turn the player into a prostitute instead of a fighter; either their characters are terrible at fighting, or they are terrific ones. Either way, I suppose becoming essential will break things, so becoming the fighting scenarioa gladiator isn't the best entry with those mods.

I'll propose a change or addition in the Simple Slavery++ thread.

In Dark arena, most of fighters are slaves, and they are terrible... only three fighters are very good (Borko, the dremora, the forsworn), and you'll fight them only in some conditions, specially when the casino wnants to see you loosing...

I use several mods to improve the fighting mechanisms and that particular character was not a fighter at all, just a thief and prostitute. I wrongfully assumed she'd either become a prostitute in The Dark Arena or would be given the choise. It was never going to happen that she'd win a fight. She did finish most of the Thieves Quest though, even with added difficulties there. So no regrets.

If/when my current character ends up in the Arena, she'll have a chance, but I'll disable Defeat to prevent race conditions.

Downloaded new update,

 

- Definitely faster for main quest when gambling than before which is great imo and makes that less of a grind, but did the whoring quest probably like 10ish times and didn't see any progress so not sure if that's intended or not

 

- Collar still not appearing despite being equipped, also having an issue where after failure of the blackjack event it equips cuffs that I can't remove by any means other than sending myself back to the DA through SS++ (which thankfully unequips them, but it means that I basically can't pick any SS++ outcome off of the main questline other than DA unless I'm fine with perma-cuffs). Tried using debug through Cursed Loot and wasn't able to unequip them.

 

Also not sure what the differences are in the "serious poker failure" compared to the earlier versions. Maybe it just runs smoother? Was having some issues where I'd need to talk to the dealer & sit down multiple times before it'd actually run, but wasn't sure if that was what the changes were or if it was some kind of dialogue/story addition.

I had this problem as well. In my case the quest advanced when I encountered the daughter in the arena. When I reverted to a save before I encountered her in the arena, the quest advanced perfectly. 

 

My advice is to avoid the arena fights when making money for this step.

How about little changes? I saw your post earlier this year where you said you wanted to finish Dark Arena and move on. I do like all your mods and all of them deserve your attention, but I wanted to share my fist experience with DA and make a couple of suggestions!

 

Because it was such a good experience! I couldn't know for sure but people who are making reviews saying this mod is bugged, crashes on cell load etc... - must be doing something wrong on their end. I enjoyed the mod continuously for over 5 hours, through the complete slavery experience, didn't crash once and all quests worked without a glitch. Honestly, considering how easy it is for quest intensive mods like this to go awry from little things, this mod has been kneaded to the smoothest state I could expect. Congratulations!

 

I played 1.35 on SSE on a long playthrough (I'm 800 hours into a playthrough with over 1500 mods).  At this point, all sorts of things could go wrong, but they didn't! So again, congratulations, Delzaron, you achieved a solid mod and great enslavement experience.

 

Furthermore, I want to mention the "ultra immersive" way in which I experienced it. I was defeated in combat and abused (Sexlab Defeat). Sent to the slave market (thanks to Simple Slavery Plus Plus integration with Defeat) and sold to the Dark Arena (thanks to the SS++ integration with DA). Honestly - what more could you want? All three mods working together flawlessly. I won't say I didn't expect it - I've come to realise that people have the wrong impression that lewd mods are flimsy and fail most of the time, when the issues are probably on the user end most of the time. In reality, the 70+ Sexlab mods I currently have in my build all work as expected, all you need to do is proper conflict resolution.

 

I'll have to make a test run of 1.36 because a lot of the changes you mention, Delzaron, are stuff that I also noticed. I have a few extra suggestions, if you feel like giving DA some extra love. I'll make a new post so as to avoid making this one even longer - so take my thanks, again, and enthusiastic endorsement of DA.

@Delzaron Here are the suggestions I mentioned on my earlier post.

 

1) Since I use needs mods that force me to eat and sleep, I missed having those in the slave pens. I had to "steal" food from the tavern customers and sleep in the prostitution "booths", because it took me some 4 or 5 in game days to do enough tasks to repay my debt. Should slaves be allowed to take food from the tavern, and sleep in the working area? I even slept once in a comfy bed that was available to me. How about making all of those beds and bedrolls owned, and unusable by the player, and place a few bedrolls or hay pile beddings in the slave pens? As for food, also mark it owned so that taking it will count as stealing, and maybe have Lisskit hand you out simple food like bread and milk or ale, when you finish your tasks? And/or have a respawning container with food in the slave pens that can be accessed. 

 

2) How about making a hard separation between the slave dwellings and the public area? You already have a perfect solution in the exit door - you need to talk to Julienne or Shadzee to get in and out of the place, and they teleport you across. Why not create a similar barrier in the slave area, and make it so that you live in the slave pens while enslaved, and Lisskit only lets you through for your dancing and whoring tasks. Finishing those tasks, Hreinn will teleport you back to the slave pens. Borka will let you access the arena - and the arena doors would be permanently locked. The only way to go in or out would be through scripts, with Borka teleporting you and your opponent there for a match, and you being teleported back as soon as you get the quest objective to talk to Borka after the match. That would require a careful tweak so that the quest only updates after you abuse/get abused by your opponent. Maybe add one stage to the quest. I could imagine Borka being also teleported into the arena so you could talk to her to advance the quest and be teleported back to the slave pens.

 

The working outfits - wench clothes and dancer clothes - should also be equipped by script when Lisskit teleports you into the public area. While in the slave pens, you could have prisoner rages given to you by script as well.

 

This seems simple enough - but I'm not the author of the mod! Totally understand if it's more complicated than it sounds.

 

But this would address the only issue I'd really like to change in your mod - making the experience of being enslaved feel like real captivity. When you can just walk freely everywhere as a slave, it takes some imagination to keep you focused on your role as a captive. But this is just my experience and opinion. I really like your mod and respect your direction if you think it's better the way it is. And thanks again!

But this would address the only issue I'd really like to change in your mod - making the experience of being enslaved feel like real captivity. When you can just walk freely everywhere as a slave, it takes some imagination to keep you focused on your role as a captive. But this is just my experience and opinion. I really like your mod and respect your direction if you think it's better the way it is. And thanks again!

1) indeed. I could add a line to get food, and put more bedrolls into the slaves pen. And lock the comfy beds.

 

2) can be good and easy to implement.

For the arena, in place of dealing again with the arena locking jails doors script, I could just add a guard to the player entry of the arena, witch will block you if you're slave.

 

I'll keep the clothes as it is. Now it's works after several versions with delaing problems, I'll keep it ! :)

I had a really good time with this mod! Based on the mod details, I think I've played through everything at least once. I am a big fan of the dark undertones present in this mod. A high-stakes casino in Skyrim is something I didn't know I wanted but is a great addition.

 

Here are a few things that stood out to me while playing as either good improvement opportunities or features I think would fit well in this mod. I am interested in trying to implement these myself if that is allowed (I don't have any serious creation kit experience). In no particular order:

  • The gambling messages that are displayed in the top left corner can quickly lag behind the current game state. I have a few mods that often log to that system besides this one and the gambling game often gets ahead of the messages saying what I rolled etc. This is an issue present for all the gambling games including the lottery. I think the best way to handle this would be to have all of the mod's systems use those black windows that are already used for some of the mod.
  • The final blackjack match is excellent. However, I didn't see a way to return to that table and play again after the quest is completed. I am very interested in the idea of some sort of gambling room where the stakes are exceptionally high and the outcomes are more than just money related. Like you mention in the mod description: "simple slavery, skooma whore... maybe SD+ in the future". High stakes arena matches also sound great. It sounds like you are already planning to do this :D.
  • (I don't know how to explain this without sounding mean so I apologize, that is not my intent.) From your signature and the game beginning message, I am assuming your main language is French. I think addressing some of the dialogue and wording in the text would help with immersion. 
    • As an aside to this, I think using that new AI voice acting generation program here would be a great addition that would also help with immersion. 

Thanks for your hard work on this mod! Its clear you put a lot of time into it and I appreciate it. Like I mentioned, I am keen about implementing some of this myself. The mod description mentions you are ok with others using the code.

The big blackjack is also is a repeatible quest.

Actually, you can play it when you're authorized by Raelag to do so. It's in the mod side quest... (by the way, maybe it's a feature I should supress/modify).

It's easy ti implement a message box with different amount of money to put on the table.

The outcomes of that quest already include simple slavery and skooma whore, if you loose and don't have the money to cover it.

If you win, it's currently 12000 septims. The fee entry is 3000.

 

Yes, my main language is French. I learn english during my jobs and studies, but I'm not perfect in it.

 

I don't have time and resosurces to use a voice actor program. I'll need a strong help in that matter.

 

I have no problems sharing my code. In fact, I learnt programmation by studying other people codes (and help from here, it's here I started to learn... now I dooing data science in python).

New script : add a dialogue line to Lisskit, to give food to player. Reinitialized if player sleep, or wait 1 day (incrementation every 5 minutes real time)
A jail door added to arena, player entry side. Open by default, close and locked key level if player is slave. Reopened when player become free.
Lisskit changed to dark elf, same skin tone of Irellen
Irellen and Lisskit are now sisters

2 new guards : Henry and Vierna
A rework of the Hall/staff part connection
aDA_Slavejob_Dance : added stages for entry and return to staff parts by talking to the guards (Henry and Vierna)
aDA_Slavejob_whore : added stages for entry and return to staff parts by talking to the guards (Henry and Vierna)
The staff door will now be close again at the end of aDA0_start quest, stage you deliver Fredis to her mother. Also at stage of fail quest, when player is sold to SSLV.

You can't speak to Irellen and gamble on a fight ?

If you wish to fight yourself, you need to be an employee first. Talk to Hreinn and pass the casting with the dark elf dancer.
