The game just doesn't know I have the mod.

I don't know if you need help still but maybe this'll help someone else. Some of these questions might seem obvious, but just in case:

  1. Do you have other mods on Steam (assuming that this is where you bought/play the game from) that *do* work? But not this one?
  2. Do you have other local mods that *do* work? But not this one?
  3. When you unzipped the file you should have gotten a Lustful Void directory and a .mod file. These are the two things that need to go in the mod folder. It's possible that when you unzipped it first dropped these two elements into a Lustful Void superdirectory. If that's the case you need to take the .mod file and the subdirectory mentioned out of that and drop them into the /mod directory. Can you confirm you did this? This is the error I suspect you are experiencing.
  4. Have you confirmed that LV is in a Playset in the Paradox launcher? Make sure to add it to a Playset if not.
  5. Have you confirmed that the Playset is loaded? Be sure that the correct Playset is selected before you hit Play in the Paradox Launcher.
  6. If you open up the .mod file in a text editor can you confirm it is pointing to the correct Lustful Void directory? On Linux systems in particular it can sometimes point to the wrong directory, though generally only if you've moved your Stellaris install (and you should be able to see the mod in your Playset, it will just warn you it's failing to load properly).

Resolving one or more of possibilities 3 through 6 should cover most problems with loading local mods.

Does "Slut Markings" block leadership or just reduce that species' frequency? Trying to make the masochistic species in a Sadomasochistic Evolution civilization generate leaders but I've never seen one.

It's never outright stated but it's heavily implied that they are the subservient species.

I also think that this applies to all secondary species.

Edit:

So I just checked. All the available leaders are of the sadistic species, that's like 20. Pretty sure they are not able to produce leaders.

I also don't know what you mean by "Slut Markings".

Thanks for checking, that's what I was figuring. I thought the chance was just decreased before.

how do i get to the mod options

It's an edict.

By that I mean it's exactly at the same spot where you find the edicts and activate it exactly like the edicts.

It's under goverment -> edicts.

I am aware that this might read like I am faceteous but this is literally it.

It is a random event that you get that unl9cks a tentacle deposit on a planet. Not sure of the exact specifics, but I have a hunch you might need a level Xenophile/Spiritualist ethic to get it?

After that, there's a group of 3 Society researches.

Does anyone have a good working collection with this mod in it that they would be willing to share?

How can I easily share it? Even compressed my mod list is still 1 GB.

Do you use irony mod manager? You can export the mod order list and I'll just manually get the mods.

If not, could just take screenshots of the mod load orders in the paradox launcher.

Mega's free plan includes 20Gb of storage.  If you've got a paid Microsoft or Google account, those both have sizable amounts of storage space even on their cheapest plans.

you can use gofile if you want, though it's free version has an inactive time limit on the file. (it'll be down after 30 days or so) although, i don't really suggest using the merged or compressed version of your list to play the game since its messed up a lot of thing in turns of making the game faster.

Yeah, I really can't actually use the files when they are inside the zip package.

I'll send the link to you.

Ok I need some help. I have installed this file like I was told to (into my mods folder) and the stellaris launcher (Steam) still will not allow me to activate the mod. It is faded out and will not let me enable it. I have been stuck for hours and I cannot figure it out. Any assistance would be appreciated.

Normally if it won't let you enable it, there should be an icon telling you why.

It says the path of this mod's descriptor is invalid or doesn't exist. What does that imply?

You very likely extracted it wrong, and, probably there is an extra folder level somewhere. Happens if you sometimes "extract to folder" instead of "extract here", but there is no way to know. You have to make sure that the path is correct yourself.

Hi all,

I've made some additions to Lustful void, mainly to facilitate a Gestalt empire playthrough I'm doing,
If anyone is on the discord, could they send a message to @Lithia<3 for me?
I sent a message here on LL but no response so far. Would be happy to have these reviewed and merged into Lustful void if people like them.
I will er on the side of caution and wait a bit before uploading my version, makes sense to wait

Here is my current change list:

EDIT: Snipped because I posted new changelog below

I think that kidnapping all pops of a planet is too much. That is more powerfull than the neutron beam of the colossus and available right from the start.

Isn't there already a mechanic in the basegame which you can copy the values of?

The best comparisons are the colossus and the raiding stance.

I am thinking of either only stealing a fraktion of the pops or a scaling effect on your pop growth. maybe both.
