Guest Posted August 10, 2013 Posted August 10, 2013 I CTD immediately on start. I'm not sure if its because I have the incorrect skeleton? But I"m afraid of screwing up what I have. Any way to safely check? as far as i understand "incorrect skeleton" would have to be some ancient skeleton as most skeletons these days are compatible with everything (to some degree) CTD on start? that would be a mod screaming to you "i cant find my master! *cry* " i recommend TES5Edit http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/25859/? simply run it with all your active mods (should auto select active mods) it should give you some message or error (read the text to see what mod is screaming and what it's missing)

I think it has to do with the clothing that gets shoved onto you when you first load the mod.
Guest Posted August 11, 2013 Posted August 11, 2013 well i don't know !!=all the detail you have provided to us is that the game crashes before you hit main menu...and well...i guess as you can hear without more...detail its VERY hard to pin-point the actual problem=!! (meshes and texture of in-game stuff is first loaded when you try to load the actual save game so it should not be the case that it crashes the moment you start the game and not even hit main menu) 1) i'd say try disabling mods one by one figure out whats causing trouble and don't stop just because disabling celestial fixes it...try keep celestial on and disable mods one by one and perhaps try celestial and its requested stuff alone 2) well i have experienced some modders who managed to mod in ways that screwed up the actual default skyrim files (making other mods say "what the fuck?") so you might want to use the steam tool to scan it o.o
Thorn14 Posted August 11, 2013 Posted August 11, 2013 Oh no no no, I'm sorry! I crash on loading a character. Here's what happens. I load a save and I'll hear the equip sounds, then crash, then if I try again, it crashes even earlier until it insta crashes on loading. Unselecting the mod fixes it, but I might get a crash too. But I have it unselected and game works fine. Damn my game is a mess lol.
Guest Posted August 11, 2013 Posted August 11, 2013 then we're two who encountered the same problem? interesting for now all we can do is wait for a possibly fix date i think the problem is the armor that uses (body) slot (don't ask me why i don't know) so disable the mod that provide your body slot armor and perhaps the arms and legs. (i don't recommend disabling race mods at all at less your switching away from them o.o) ofc you can enable the armor mod again the moment you saved without the armor mod (actually you can reequip the armor mod i guess as its sorts of random)
DarkCrimson Posted August 11, 2013 Posted August 11, 2013 Possible unpb version? the mod works great using my CBBE mod set (consists of 115 mods ) but it seems to crash when i try it on my unpb mod set (around 97 mods works fine without) i believe its because of the cb++. At least that really is the only difference between the two mod sets is the body mods.
Guest Posted August 12, 2013 Posted August 12, 2013 guess you'r right DarkCrimson for now i'm forced to make the absurd choice to abandon this race mod for the time being.
Deedlit Posted August 13, 2013 Posted August 13, 2013 i was using that one also with cbbe, but im using unpb redux by xp32, and kinda glitch alot now, really hope comes with option for unpb soon.
Snags5050 Posted August 14, 2013 Posted August 14, 2013 Hey, this is friggin awesome and I'm loving it. I have a problem when I try to use the Devil Knight power with a non-celestial character though (honestly haven't tried the celestial race yet lol). When I use the power, it starts the transformation, and right about the time it says Flame Cloak power is added, it freezes, not CTD just freeze. I'm using the xp32 Maximized Skeleton and UNPB Redux, do you know if there's an incompatibility between that skeleton and the Devil Knight armor? Or maybe something else I'm not thinking of? Appreciate the help on this. Angel Knight powers work fine (the body just changes with the armor, but it's close enough that i don't care).
GermLoc Posted August 14, 2013 Posted August 14, 2013 I have extreme difficulty with Mega, used to be able to toggle some options in my firefox but now no matter what i do it won't allow me past 6% even after i allow all that is asked to allow....have since been unable to download anything from their site. any chance of an upload elsewhere? would be much appreciated....i've been awaiting this mod for....well....since its precursor's release I suppose... Hopefully that will work for you both. Ive had no issues with the armor so far in my game so its a good bet.
Guest Posted August 14, 2013 Posted August 14, 2013 i can transform and use both forms without visible trouble even got tail and everything so i don't think so and i made a habit of not saving games when tons of scripts or events or the likes is active (meaning i don't save while transformed) i was wearing UNPB armor.
Shaydow Posted August 15, 2013 Author Posted August 15, 2013 Ok since this seems to be something that just came up : Under requirements : You MUST have a CBBE compatible body and skeleton if you are NOT a celestial, and just like with OTHER CBBE armors, there will most likely be issues if you are using ANY other body type other than CBBE and using CBBE armors. On that note : no sorry guys, I have no plans to make a UNP / or any other body type version. I pushed this when I did and worked on what I could get out when I did, because I'm basically done with it. Any future release will just be bug fixes that are MY FAULT. Other than that, Celestials is done. Don't get the wrong idea, I would love to be able to do it like I did before, but life changes, and mine is no different, and I just don't have the time to devote myself to any future additions to this mod anymore. I hope you understand. Peace, Shay
RedDice Posted August 16, 2013 Posted August 16, 2013 Hey Shaydow, first things first, I want to thank you for taking the time to make this great mod, I really enjoy it. About a week ago I picked Skyrim back up after a huge break, saw this race and tried it. Never looked back. Unfortunately I just discovered that all the other races, but not the Argonians, Elves, and Khajiit, have a problem with eye placement. Even custom ones. What I mean is that only the upper half of the eye is shown over the lower eyelid and the eyelashes are shifted down to where the upper lash is at the lower lid and the lower lash is below the upper lash, like normal I suppose. A different way of putting it is that relative to the eyelid/socket, the eye shifts downward about half an eye height, and the eyelashes shift another half. This varies a bit race to race but its all basically the same. Also, this doesn't affect the npcs, just me, which is why I hadn't noticed. Now I went a like mod happy and downloaded a lot of mods, but I don't think that I have anything that is conflicting with this mod besides the race compatibility by TMPhoenix. I'm still pretty nooby though, so I could easily have missed something. Is there anything that I can do or use to get to the bottom of this? Sorry if this post is bad, first time heh.

I'm still pretty nooby though, so I could easily have missed something. Is there anything that I can do or use to get to the bottom of this? Sorry if this post is bad, first time heh. Ok I knew this might arise again. See the thing about Celestials is while I tried to make everything standalone, the eyes are something that can't be. I had to explain this to someone else once before, there is nothing I can do about it, no matter what, and I am sorry. There are 3 files for eyes I have included, and these 3 files are NOT part of the main Celestial ( or Celestial Armor ) folder I have included in my BSA. Yet they ARE in the BSA, and are needed to make Celestials work. HOWEVER, if you have different versions of these eyes included either in a BSA loaded AFTER mine in load order ( using for example NMM ) OR as LOOSE files ( I.E: they are already put in your data\meshes\actors\character\character assets folder ON YOUR HARD DRIVE and NOT part of my BSA ) then THOSE will overwrite the ones in my BSA. There is nothing I can do about this. Not only that, but using mine instead of one you already had ( manually ) installed, may cause issues with the other custom races you have installed. The 3 files you need to worry about when using Celestial Race are : eyesfemale.tri eyesfemalechargen.tri femaleheadbrowschargen.tri again all located in your data\meshes\actors\character\character assets folder. then we're two who encountered the same problem? interesting for now all we can do is wait for a possibly fix date i think the problem is the armor that uses (body) slot (don't ask me why i don't know) so disable the mod that provide your body slot armor and perhaps the arms and legs. Now I can fuck shit up as a Celestial Lunari While I can't tell you why this would have worked, yes, I did that on purpose, made both the beast and the normal the SAME skeleton ( you may not know this but Celestials has its very own skeleton, used for animations / body behaviour / weapon placement, I had to make myself to make the race unique ). I do not know why replacing the one with other would work for you, they are both the same. HOwever, I AM glad you got it to work for you! Skyrim, and all Bethesda games are fickle things....
RedDice Posted August 17, 2013 Posted August 17, 2013 Thanks for the quick reply, I must have missed the earlier explanation when I was looking through before. Basically what you're saying is that I need those three files, either into that directory or in a bsa and load it just after Celestials. I did a quick google search and while it didn't show any actual files, it looks like I can make some. However I've never used an editing program for Skyrim besides TES5Edit, and I just started that this week. Is that what I actually need to do, and if so what program would you recommend I use to do this?

Those 3 files are IN Celestials, and also in MANY other character mods and races. If you have a custom race loaded after mine as a BSA OR if you have loose files installed to the Skyrim folder of you hard drive, then mine will not work right. I hope this cleared this up. i neeeeeeeeeeeeed a follower celestial please make it pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeease that can also transform into a devil and angel knight No.
RedDice Posted August 19, 2013 Posted August 19, 2013 You're right I misunderstood what you were saying. Like I said I'm pretty new with modding, having only installed some armor/body textures before. I did in fact have some other races installed with Celestials, but Celestial worked great. It was the vanilla and other custom races that were shifting the eyes around. So I guess I can't be any of the other races when I have Celestials turned on. That's fine, it's what I want to be anyways, and the npcs are fine so no big deal. I just got caught up in things when the notion of wearing the Celestial armor on other races. One other thing I saw while searching to learn a bit more was a video about load order, I think, that mentioned how if two esp's modded the same thing(weapons in this case), the later could have a compatibility patch to keep both? Or something like that. Does something like that exist for bsa's? Thanks for your help.
Mart0206 Posted August 19, 2013 Posted August 19, 2013 Hello Shaydow, after reading 26 Sites of this thread looking for a similar question i gave up.. So here my question, but first, my respect for all the work. I was looking a long time for a replacer of the vampire Lord Form. The vanilla form isn´t bad, but it reminds me a lot on the movie "Underworld 2". U know, with that creepy Marcus-Guy who was just killing everyone with his wings... Is it possible, to replace to vampire lord form with your own one, without installing the whole celestial race - mod? Greetings, Mart

Or something like that. Does something like that exist for bsa's? Thanks for your help. The reason the NPC's are shifting around like that is because while Celestials uses and includes those 3 files, other races do as well, and some OTHER files also run off those, that I have NOT used or included in Celestials. What is happening is you are seeing Celestials looks fine, so for my mod everything is good, but for those OTHER mods you have, that also say to look for those files, they end up using MY 3 files, and not the ones that the mod was designed to use. It is IMPOSSIBLE for me, or anyone else for that matter, to make a (race in this case ) mod that is fully compatible with all other mods out there. However, with a little bit of tweaking, a lot of hard work learning, and time doing, you can actually make all the mods you have play nice with one another usually. You have to do it yourself. If anything, you can try to find a mod that changes Vanilla characters ( the npc's you are having problems with ) in a way that is compatible with ECE ( Enhanced character edit ). There are ways to merge mods together that USE the same bases, however this is not the case for Celestial. There is nothing in my mod that would need to be merged in such a way with any other mod, unless that mod uses Celestials as a base to begin with ( and for what I know, there isn't one ). Your best bet is to learn about and understand load order. Load order is what determines when to mods are using the same STRUCTURE ( NOT assets ) what one of those file structures is used. To put it simply, no, you can not just merge my eye files and another mods DIFFERENT eye files and make them both work. The only reason this ONLY happens to some people with Celestials ( my mod ), and the reason I point out those 3 files, is that those 3 files are the some of the only ones in the ENTIRE CREATION KIT, that I can not assign to a folder or a new file to. I can only replace the existing ones. Don't ask me why, I didn't make the Creation Kit, but sadly, all races and all race mods have to use those same 3 files, there is no way around it ( trust me I tried ). Hello Shaydow, after reading 26 Sites of this thread looking for a similar question i gave up.. Greetings, Mart Well, while I never made it standalone, so within the confines of my own downloads, no, BUT, you CAN actually do it yourself, and it isin't really that hard and I can help you through it a little bit here. However, the reason you would need Celestials is simply for the files I had included in it already ( meshes / textures / etc ) . Without even having to USE celestials, you still need to download it. Then get a program like BSAUnpacker. Unpack it someplace, but NOT your skyrim folder. Now go into my folders and copy everything ( or move ) BUT the character assets folder ( so do NOT use the data\meshes\actors\character\character assets folder ). I promise all the other folders are standalone and will not replace anything else you have in game, bodies, armor, weapons, skills, etc will NOT be affected. All your doing at this point is telling the Vampire Lord replacer when it asks " hey where do I get these files then since you don't have a Celestials.bsa checked?" to look in the Skyrim folder itself to find all the things it needs.
Shaydow Posted August 19, 2013 Author Posted August 19, 2013 In relation to the last question and answer, is anyone using V6 AND Vampire Lord replacer? I just realized I might have made some of those assets link to files that may no longer be included in V6 since Devil Knight armor was changed. I can think of these possibilities but I need to know what is what : 1) Vampire Lord is now using the V6 Devil Knight assets, and I'm fine with that if it works. 2)Vampire Lord is still using the right assets and I didn't fuck anything up with the V6 release. 3)Vampire Lord is looking for assets that are no longer included in V6 and I need to fix that. Let me know what one it is guys. Again, I don't play Skyrim anymore
kraziiadam2 Posted August 20, 2013 Posted August 20, 2013 I really enjoy the armor sets you've created. Do you happen to have any more?
