Rusty Core Posted October 28, 2018 Author Posted October 28, 2018 So ive literally tried several ENBs at this point, two of which were performance optimized, and instead of better frames, all I got was even WORSE frames. Like literally 5-10 fps. With eavery single one. Ive had to delete enb files over and over again tho that's nott to say some of the enbs didn't require other things too that may be causing this issue. Im convinced theres a file or setting or something somewhere that keeping my game from getting better. Ive tried so many things and nothings working so far. I just keep getting the same horrible fps no matter what enb I use.

I just keep getting the same horrible fps no matter what enb I use. http://enbdev.com/download_mod_tesskyrim.html http://wiki.step-project.com/Guide:ENB ENB have two functionalities: ONE: Memory manager TWO: Graphics Enhancer The Memory manager is ALWAYS enabled and active and YOU NEED IT because you only have 2 gb of VRAM. For enable the Graphics Enhancer you must put UsePatchSpeedhackWithoutGraphics=FALSE in enblocal.ini For disable the Graphics Enhancer you must put UsePatchSpeedhackWithoutGraphics=TRUE in enblocal.ini When you have UsePatchSpeedhackWithoutGraphics=TRUE in enblocal.ini you are ussing the Memory manager of ENB, and you NEED IT, but not the Graphics Enhancer. When you have UsePatchSpeedhackWithoutGraphics=FALSE in enblocal.ini you are ussing the Memory Manager of ENB AND THE GRAPHICS ENHANCER. You have a laptop with a small video card with a very lite graphics power. If you ENABLE the Graphics Enhancer of ENB your machine is unable to generate a decent framerate because, first your have a very lite video card in a laptop, and second because the Graphics Enhancer of ENB require a powerfull video card. You can not get a decent fps in your machine if you ENABLE the Graphics Enhancer of ENB. For that, in my mesage, and in others messages, people say it. You can NOT use the Graphics Enhancer of ENB. Maybe you can, if you admit play with a very low fps. Maybe some enb config can give you only a low fps and not a VERY low fps, but that is search and try a lot of configurations, and i realy doubt you can find a ENB config that can run good in a laptop with a Geforce 920MX. If you want play Skyrim at 50-60 pfs as the title of your post say, you unique solution, as already said, is DISABLE the Graphics Enhancer of ENB == UsePatchSpeedhackWithoutGraphics=TRUE and use others utilities like Imaginator, as i alrready said. HAVE YOU TRY IT??? WHY NOT??? WHY when you receive a recomendation not follow it?? Not try it?? Not test it?? Maybe because my screenshots look "too juicy"?? Imaginator is NOT A UNIQUE COLOR MANAGER. As i said, you can change the Contrast and the Saturation as you like with a simply MCM and you can give the color that you want to your game, and can be more "juicy" or less "juicy" depending of the settings in the MCM of Imaginator. Then, i encourage you download, install and test Imaginator.

Listen to GenioMaestro. He knows what he's talking about. Your graphics processor has very similar specs to my old GTX 680 but with parts stripped down to reduce power consumption. That old card would sometimes hit lows of 10 to 15 FPS running an ENB with 2k landscape and tree textures, and no grass mod. I now use a GTX 980ti and it can maintain 50 to 60 FPS running an ENB with 2k landscape and tree textures, and 1k verdant grass... and the fans on the card spin up to very audible levels and the poor thing sounds like it wants to be put out of it's misery.

Maybe u already said something about being able to config it ingame, and perhaps I missed that, otherwise ig I would've tried it Idk anyway I guess its worth a shot

Ive never dealt in getting a new graphics card before so how much do good ones usually cost? I don't have an expectation for it to be cheap either

Rusty Core Posted October 28, 2018 Author Posted October 28, 2018 So using my enb manager I removed everything and anything that was enb related. imma give Genio's imaginator idea a try

You then go and have a look at the mod's description page on Nexus or wherever, read it, have a think and then make a decision. You are fixated on this holy grail of 60 fps and are ignoring everything that does not support this. You will not get 60fps with your current hardware. Chopping and changing umpteen ENBs in a few days (never a good idea BTW) will not change anything. Imaginator will not help you get 60fps but it will get you better visuals than vanilla.

And having installed imaginator just an hour or two ago, it seems to work fine but for some ungodly reason my game crashes now after a quick 5 minutes or so. Also I don't believe its a good thing when the game skips the Bethesda logo screen. Is It? Maybe that and the crash go hand n hand?

You must use ENB in Boost mode and that is made putting UsePatchSpeedhackWithoutGraphics=TRUE in enblocal.ini If you not have the memory manager of ENB your game crash, of course, for that you NEED ENB in Boost mode. Any user with a modded Skyrim and a video card with less than 4gb of VRAM NEED ENB in Boost mode. I have it, and hundreds of users, because is the ONLY way for solve some CTD and have a stable moded game.

So I gotta put enb back now just for the sake of the memory manager? Also I know my installed ram is 8gb how do I check the vram.

This is found on the ENBDev site: http://enbdev.com/download_vramsizetest.htm Make certain that you download the vramsizetest and not the larger and splashier ad on the same page. And to reiterate what GenioMaestro said before. "why do you ask these questions when you have already received the answer?" You can accept that he knows what he is talking about and do it or you can reject it out of hand. It's your choice. But I will point out that HE has a stable game running on a not-wonderful machine.

For know the VRAM size of your video card you can try see it in the Harware Manager, rigth click on mi computer icon, manage, device manager, video adapters, properties. Or can run DxDiag or can download a program that say it, like GpuZ. VramSizeTest not say how many Vram have your video card. Only say "how much d3d memory -IS- available for resources of games" reffering to RAM available, NOT VRAM. VramSizeTest say 9837 mb for me with 16gb of RAM but really i only have 2048 mb of VRAM. Maybe your crash is caused by a bad configuration of the memory section in enblocal.ini Read the instruction in the step guide for correctly configure it. [MEMORY] ExpandSystemMemoryX64=false ReservedMemorySizeMb=128 ;This value should be set to lowest possible value without experiencing stutter. Increase this value until stuttering is either gone or minimal. See advanced guide above for more information. VideoMemorySizeMb=<integer in MB> ;Users should download and run Boris's VRamSizeTest tool. Run the VRamSizeDX9.exe. Windows 7 users subtract 170 from the value provided and use that value. Windows 8/8.1 users use the value provided. Windows 10 users subtract 350 from the value provided and use that value. AutodetectVideoMemorySize=false

nufndash Posted October 30, 2018 Posted October 30, 2018 Have you tried some things "outside" of the game, like FPS Booster, or setting your Skyrim.exe to high priority in the task manager? I have mine capped at 60 FPS because that is what I was told Skyrim was made to work with optimally. But these two things have made 60 FPS pretty much consistent everywhere inside or out. I don't know if they will help you get more. I tried going above 60 and had some high spikes, things looked incredible, but every time I entered a room, books, plates, kettles etc. went flying everywhere. Dragonsreach looked like a tornado hit.

If you do not have even that level of knowledge then you should not be messing about with ENBs and ini file settings.

That's prolly cuz he never mentioned ANYTHING about needing to subtract my value by 350. So I just ran it again thinkining id get the same number last time. But this time instead of the 6048 it told me before, it came up as 4160. Wtf changed??? Ive also placed the enblocal.ini back in and configured it accordingly

You will never achieve 60 fps using the graphics enhancement of ENB on your current machine. A computer that can run ENB at 60 fps would easily cost twice as much as your laptop. Carefully follow the instructions to set up ENB in Boost mode, and if you want prettier colors use Genio's recommendations.

And bc you say its 2gb while my machine for some reason says 8gb, im legitametly confused. all im asking for is clarification VRAM is specifically the graphics processor's memory., and RAM is the memory for the central processor (CPU). The CPU is the main brain of the computer that handles all the other stuff unrelated to graphics. So when your computer shows 8gb that's the RAM, not the VRAM. Your computer possibly integrates both into one, in which case I assume your graphics processor is using 2gb of the 8gb of available memory for the entire system, but don't quote me on this. I'm wrong most of the time, so I recommend that you use Google to do a bit of research about your computer.

Select it and this window will open: At the top click on Help and select System Information. This next window will open, and when you scroll down a bit you will see Dedicated video memory. Grey Cloud Posted October 31, 2018 Posted October 31, 2018 Google and other search engines are quite good at finding answers to questions. Especially basic questions which should have been taught at school. I answered your question in post #44.
