Oburael

Recommended Posts

Hey guys and hey ladies.

Like the topic name displayed, let's share with the class how we all got our current forum names shall we?

I'll go first as an example.

How did I get Oburael? Well it requires some backstory.

I used to be under an identity named Tenebre at first, vaguely meaning Darkness. I know, pretty edgy, right? Well fortunately, I am an edgy guy in that aspect.

After a while, I rolled in with a bad crowd whom I thought were my friends at the time for 5+ years but they ended up kicking me out because one of them (who hated me from the moment I joined their crew) made out that I typed shit that I didn't say in a style that wasn't even close to how I typed, but they:

A: Believed him over me without letting me speak.

and

B: Were looking for a valid excuse to distance themselves from me.

Being honest, despite how dirty it was, my mind couldn't wrap my head around why and why I was apparently so unlikeable for a good month. Afterwards, I wanted to change my name to "leave that part of me behind".

So after hard thinking for 3 days, I went to a random name generator for some possible necromancer-like nicknames.

The suffix -rael sermed popular in a lot of the outcomes and my head was fixed on something starting with O, then this was born. No clue where the B and U came in but it's here now xD.

Anyway, that's my story. What's yours? How did you get yours? ?

When I was a kid, I loved Pokemon Fire Red. Old, I know, but that was my game back then. Spent way more time interacting with that than with other people.

Anyway, round about the ripe ol' age of eight, I discover this thing called "1337 sp34k" exists. Needing to make a username for Roblox, I figure I take something from a game I like (Pokemon) and some of this internet coolness (leetspeak) and put them together to make a name. Now, I didn't google much back then, and the region name is a tiny part of Pokemon Fire Red. So I remember something about a region named Honen and figure, hey, some rare people replace "H"s with 4s, so that'll make me super unique!

Hence, 4onen.

Now, I discovered about a year later that Pokemon Fire Red takes place not in Honen, but in Kanto. And Honen is actually spelled Hoenn. But I already had the name everywhere, so it stuck. I think it worked out pretty well, personally. I'm not something immature, pornographic, nor political. I'm just 4onen.

My name is Seth. Ever since I was a boy, my now deceased grandfather would always call me "the mighty Sethster", and it would both make me laugh and feel confident. As I was growing up, my father and brother would soon follow up with the nickname, they began to call me Sethster at all times of the day, literally until the time I became a moody teenager, who despised any nicknames and silenced them up whenever they'd say it, until they eventually just stopped.

It wasn't until my grandfather died in 2014 that I had a "wake up call" and in his memory, I started nicknaming myself Sethster once again, and that's what led me into using this nick even on LL.

Fair enough. Interesting story. One of my first nicknames was after a cartoon's song that I thought was fascinating. AgentVamp being a secret agent and a vampire at the same time. :P

Aww! That's sweet! My nicknames were embarrassing twists on mine that I still can't take seriously.

Yours sounds way more reasonable. ?

Short version:
I played Lineage 2 (almost 13 yars ago) as dwarf and if anyone play it and remember they make funny sounds like old cars klaxons .
Long version :
I joined into really nice online gamers community and we maked dwarfs clan. Guys named their dwarfs as Beerson, Metalixon, (gang of old bastrds, drunkers, rockers so just interesting people)  so I use this nick . We had icq clan chat, later full server icq chat ,and many many pub meetings with people from every part of my country. I was visiting chats and meetings and  if I say Hi guys I am Blablabla(real name or different nick) no one recognized who I em . So I must use this nick many many time because this community move in few next years acros many online games and I was still in contact with many of these guys and offcourse every one called me all time just Klaxon. So I used to use it .

My good looks and odor, ey.

Got my nickname Jasmyne (sometimes spelled Jasemyne) already in Middle School,

but because the folks in Jamaica pronounce it as Jazzman I ended up with this one.

Got the only good rhythm, babe. As such, I can live with it.

Err... not much to tell about mine, i guess.
When i was playing Ragnarok Online, i created an assassin to play with the friends called DeathAngell (with two Ls, yes, unique like only a children can think of). It ends up that even DeathAngell became something easy to find around the internet, and i needed a new nick. I don't exactly remember where i started using this one, but it remains.

I like latin names. Dies Irae is a known poem, and at the time i was listening to a lot of J-Rock, and one of the bands of the moment was DI3SIRAE. I liked how it sounds, and using '3' as the 'e' would fit perfectly to not find others using the same name.
So i ended up using Dies Irae together, and with the 3.

It is funny that my friends speak Disrael. I think one of them spoke it like this one time, and "De" (wrong, but you can pronounce it like 'di') in portuguese means "from". They made jokes about it being "From Israel" because of that.

That's it, just something plain stupid xD

edit: ooooooooh i think i remember when i started using it. When i started playing an online game, it asked me to put an user name. So i used DeathAngell. But it was Login name, and not user name, so i couldn't use DeathAngell anymore. Now i just can't say if this was first or after creating my Nexus' account with the same name.

I made a Half-Giant character and when it came time to pick a name I just clicked the "Get Name" button.  Yes, I'm THAT lazy :)

Hey, I don't blame you at all. Whenever name screens come up, I always use my same 4 or 5 or the ingame name generator. I get stumped on it all the time.

Alkpaz is the first two letters of my first name and the first letter of my last name, "paz" was my first handle that I actually kept for a number of years (starting in the 90s), it is short for Pazuzu, I created "Alkpaz" because getting dibs on "Pazuzu" was getting harder and harder as the internet grew.

Was that because of The Exorcist movie(s)? Or is that a coincidence?

Humans are talking, sapient animals who forget they are animals sometimes or outright deny this fact, making them no different that the concept of Furries other than the fact that they aren't covered in fur. That makes them, more or less, Faux Furries. It also refers to some of my own personal characters who are biomechanical/synthetically produced beast people.

It isn't just some descriptor for someone who is non-committal about things related to the Furry Fandom. I just like silly names with multiple meanings.

Honestly, it’s a little embarrassing to admit that I only chose this nickname because I didn’t want to use my usual one here on this site because I didn’t want anyone I know to find me here. I mean it’s kind of obvious that I was, on purpose, trying to choose the most cliche silly name that I’m sure no one beat me to xd

Every time a website makes me sign up or register just to download 1 file I always put in something like this.  I even have a specific gmail account just for forum registration.

Who knew I would still be using this account after 5 years?

That was exactly why I registered as Weavel-halfturret first. That was my spam/bait/experimental account name. Then I figured "Hey, those I know aint gonna go on here anyway, so why would they know me? Why should I live in fear?" And did it under the one I use most.

That's just me though.

Initially, I didn't get it from the Exorcist, believe it or not, but from the Necronomicon. I didn't remember the name of the demon in The Exorcist, but it fits with my love of horror flicks.. my profile pic is of Fred Kreuger. kinda fits in with the whole violent game + LL :D

Ah np. I get you.

It's understandable you didn't remember from the First Exorcist. Pretty sure it didn't have a name until the terrible sequel. ?

User names, not nicknames. Like how did you come up with yours?

"Pinky, are you pondering what I'm pondering?" ?

It was around 2001 or 2002, I was getting into a game called EverQuest.  I was making a Dark Elf Necromancer, but I couldn't come up with a name.  The game offered a name randomize button.  After a few clicks, Vinamael popped up.  In the game you can have a surname after level 20.  I chose Shinigami and when I put the two names together; I really liked the way it sounded.  Vinamael (I pronounce it Vin - Uh - Mail) Shinigami, I have dropped the surname, but kept the first ever since then.

Around the time of Halo 2 (late 2004-early 2005), I was hanging at a friend's house and it required that I set up a username. He was always great at coming up with unique names so I tossed the letter S at him and he listed off a few, Sezual was one of them but when I got home later I couldn't remember how he spelled it so the A became an E and I've been using Sezuel since ... sadly when I first starting using it on PC (Due to the QWERTY keyboard) a lot of people kept calling me Sexual ... after some irritation I have learned to deal with it and Sezuel has been my name since. Besides that, it being an original name I've been able to use it everywhere. You see Sezuel somewhere it is 99% chance it's me as I've only run into one site where it was already taken and likely by me but having forgot my password and the email it was signed up to I just made a new account.

I know the feeling of irritation when people can't read properly.

One of my former nicknames, Tenebre was pretty simple to pronounce (Teh-nuh-bray).

When people would ask, I'd tell them nicely, if I introduced myself, I phonetically pronounced my name that way so people would know, but there's always those very few, especially this southern american white dude with a thick accent, who'd say it like a country bumpkin. TEH-KNEE-BRAY.

What a pain that was. Luckily I've long since ditched that lot of people he hung out with. ?
