What kind of Architecural assets would you like to see made.

The mod I am working on requires new assets, mostly new buildings and other items.  for example, I am creating new towers and new gatehouses for Whiterun.    Some of the things I've wanted were available in mod resource packs but not all.   So what would you like to see made in the game.

Personally the whole everywhere but Solitude is falling down, not maintained bugs the crap out of me.  So this mod is set to fire after the civil war is completed, Whiterun and other places are starting to rebuild and expand.   The Imperials are building a few new forts in critical areas, as well as new temples and shrines.   there is a quest attached,  but the  mod has kind of grown out from there.  LOL So while I am back to modeling to add to the mod, what suggestions do you folks have?

Another dungeon set or an expansion of the doodads available to decorate Dwemer dungeons would be good.

not a bad idea, I'll add that to my list of possibles.

Yeah... the three dungeon types in Skyrim are kind of samey. For the tombs or caves that sort of makes sense, but I feel like Dwemer ruins could be more diverse.

I know someone's made an Ayelid dungeon pack, though it's a bit slim for now. But more resource sets are always a good thing! Maybe something Morrowind/Dunmer themed.

Really, just make what you like. I'm just tossing ideas out there - I don't need any of these myself.

For me its not so much what I want, but what I wish I could create.  I've really gotta find time to learn to import static meshes into Skyrim.

its really not all that hard now.  My biggest problem is finding the time to get a model completed and adding enough touches to make it lore friendly.

Are you using Blender?   with 2.79 the nif blender plugin allows you to import a NIF directly into Blender, no more having to convert a NIF into an obj file or whatever you chose then spend hours fixing the meshes before you can really get down to business.

Do you have a link to the plugin?

I never had much problem importing things into Blender, it was going from Blender to Skyrim that things got wonky.  The last time I tried this there wasn't a pluggin for the current version so everyone was saying to roll back to an archaic version of Blender which was nuts.  Since then I've just not found time to try with the current link.  I really need to do that, but will have to wait yet again cause Saturday the liquid crystal in my monitor shattered (no idea why, it looks like something hit the screen except nothing did, I've never seen anything like this).  So hopefully I will have a new monitor by Wed and can maybe try the pluggin next weekend.

As for making stuff in Blender, that I've got no trouble with though I'm not the best with texturing (I really need to get Substance Painter), but poly modelling and UV Mapping I'm pretty good at and fairly fast.

Thanks for posting the link to the plugin.

I hear ya, Texturing is my bane.  I tend to stick with Vanilla textures or textures from other mods and resource packs.  this is the tut that shows how to set up the model for export, well one of them at any rate.

You're more than welcome.

Now with Blender 2.79 I really do not need Substance Painter anymore - I had 3ds and Mudbox before.

Modeling, sculpting, UV creation, texturing and normal map baking is really great in Blender - only the Nif import / export is crap.

I'm not talking about low poly static meshes, but about body mesh with 57k tris + skeleton/armature.

Smaller nif of armor parts sometimes work, but it lasts forever.
I will look at Anton's tools.

Me? Erotic female statues, maybe dibella related

I'm not so good at people, but... LOL.  have you checked out the Sisters of Dibella LL mod.  it has some custom erotic female statues,   You can just extract those from the BSA's and use them how and where you want.

Now my wish list - I hope you have a lot of time.
I wish new architecture in principle, houses, interiors, walls, etc.
If you agree, I'll do the clothes for you/this setting.

Either modern or antique. Antique rather in the area of the Mediterranean - Roman, Greek or Arabic.
Modern like something different - in the style of steam punk, more freaky.

As I said, if you have a lot of time. ;)

LOL I might need to win the lotto to have enough time for all of that.   Roman and greek homes would be fairly easy to make, the average home in a city was a box,  if I remember right  in the Empire regular folks lived in what we would call apartments today,  Merchants lived above their homes, unless very wealthy.  most exterior walls were white and the type of business was marked by a stripe of color on the wall.  it was the interiors that could get very elaborate.

The interiors were again boxes, but in the homes of the wealthy, there would be ornate gardens, shrines to household gods.  murals and fresco's on the walls etc....

So the biggest thing that would need to be done would be textures and all the clutter to fill it.

Arabia, the commoners lived in hovels and plain multistory box buildings. , but merchants and nobles could have some elaborate homes, and that is where it would get tricky.  I'll look into it and see what I can make and add it to my list.   no promises though.   Mostly I was looking for suggestions on things to add to my mod.  But now it looks like I might have to release a resource pack LOL.

now an option would be to download mods and strip the pieces and parts and whole buildings out for use.    I used Lors with the witcher models, bits out of the Forgotten Temple mod,  and drips and drabs out of other resource mods.  Sorry, I don't remember the names off hand.    What I couldn't find I've been making.

this is a temple interior I made mostly using vanilla and resources from others, with some of my own stuff added to it.

The next one is one I made (minus the horses) because frankly I got tired of kitbashing and never really getting the look I wanted.

anyway. I'll see what I can do, about some of the more basic homes and such, since I will be making a few for myself anyway.

I always wished someone would create daedric structures, things that look like they came from Oblivion--the realms of existence, not the game.

I'm still surprised that that kinda thing ain't actually happened since morrowind

I might be able to do a couple of things.   Mostly what I started out doing, was rebuilding Whiteurns gatehouses and towers, a few homes and shrines and I have a fortress I have been working  on for vigilants that is based on a Danish fortress

I would be interested in seeing new structures for Soul Cairn, something to make it look even drearier than it already is to drop into the world space after moving the invisible walls back quite a bit.

I like that idea,  The cairn is my least favorite place in the game, few quests, boring, lots of wasted potential in my opinion.  It would be a great place to improve and base a horror mod in.
