coronelwirs Posted June 3, 2024 Posted June 3, 2024 Well, I see they're all throwing ideas around. I also want. So, my idea is simple to the point of outrage, at first I thought something complicated, but better, whatever, in this game everything will fall apart if you almost write the code like that. The first idea concerns how Carni takes a bath. You can add a bad ending, or rather a personal choice. Dovakin herself can volunteer to have her blood used to rejuvenate the mistress. We describe it in a scenario like this: 1) Mistress, did you call me? 2) Yes, pet, I take a bath, but there is no blood in it, do you know why I need it? 3) No. 4) To maintain the beauty of my body, now go down and get me a suitable slave. 5) But Mistress, these slaves are not worthy of their blood rejuvenating you. My blood is yours. 6) Well, slave, this is an amazing idea, I've never tried the effect of dragonborn blood. Get Simza to open your veins. 7) I'm already running, thank you, mistress, you won't be disappointed. 8) When she drains you of blood, your body will go to butchery. 9) (Script action and final description) Farewell pet, Namira blesses you. The End Idea number 2 To implement it, you will need a Display spike, We'll put it on display in the main hall, where the guests are having lunch. Let's just say this is a quest advertisement, because a restaurant full of cannibals needs to expand somehow, and nothing helps this more than a pleasant external environment for guests. Pleasant day- The name of the quest, yes, the name in the forehead, i still need to think about it. Scenario move: 1) Oh, my pet, you're just in time, there's an important assignment for you, maybe you'll like it. As you know, every restaurant needs a pleasant atmosphere, And I think I've found a solution. 2) Always at your service, Mistress, what is required? 3) It's very simple, you will pose naked in front of our guests in the main hall, but you will be locked in the display spike. 4) Oh, mistress, this is so unexpected and exciting. When should I start? 5) Right now, dear, but keep in mind, you have to be locked up like this for 3 days. And if someone likes your body and buys you out to cook- Remember that you are permanently on the restaurant menu. 6) It's amazing, Mistress, I agree. 7) Then undress and go to the hall, the guests will gather soon, Simza will prepare you. 8) Task: Go to the main hall and talk to Simza. 9) Dialogue - Simza, I was chosen to represent the restaurant. - It's amazing, I would like to, too, but seeing your flawless body, I realize that I have no chance. - Don't worry, you're an excellent cook, besides, somebody can buy me to be cooked alive. - I've always dreamed of cooking you, Fantasies turn into reality. Anyway, get on the display spike. - Well, its secure, you are ready. Further events go through the narrative of the pop-up window. Since I'm not very good at describing noir-erotic texts, Pama is needed here (-)__(-) Quest endings: Good, you have not been redeemed in 3 days and mistress will remove you from the display spike. Bad End- Well, you know how everything works here, do I really need to describe in detail?))) Criticize, suggest. Have fun 1

Have fun Interesting ideas like many others here, but unfortunately the author must also be interested in them :3 e.g. in the Bath quest the water should turn from ordinary to red after the slave has bled and the slave should have his head cut off (Someone also mentioned this and it would be better)

Ink_Ribbon Posted June 4, 2024 Posted June 4, 2024 (edited) On 4/9/2024 at 9:17 PM, Ink_Ribbon said: Actually, let's start this now. I've been working on a rewrite of the mod's text, meaning spoken dialogue and quest objectives, along with a few other small consistency fixes as regards to typos in names and items. It's a long while while from done—I'm estimating another week of creative drive is necessary. But as of tonight, I've finished with a fairly necessary part for my own utility, and I might as well upload my current progress as a preview of the work so far. The mod's original dialogue is serviceable—no offense intended to Delzaron—but it seems pretty clear that there were translation errors, some logical inconsistencies, and certain details omitted for quest objectives which can cause a player to misunderstand or be unaware of their next task. This patch is intended to correct those and enhance the quality of the mod's writing, without adding a single record, which means working entirely within the limits of a conversation's length. This also means that my mod should be drop-in/drop-out compatible, as it's just a text replacement. No scripts have been modified, either. Meaning, anyone who can currently run the mod can slot this in at the end of their load order and see this new text, and if they decide they don't like it, then they can just uninstall the mod without any trouble. (It's also been created in XEdit as a esl-flagged .esp, so as far as Skyrim is concerned, it barely exists in a load order at all.) The second file (RavenousTextEdits_Deep.esp) maintains all of the same changes, and goes further in two ways. A few quest names have been changed to read better, but the more significant change is actually on the backend side. The EditorIDs of all of the mod's dialogue has been renamed and organized in rough chronological order, allowing an XEdit user to read through the whole mod's spoken script as necessary, and change dialogue throughout a sequence without having to hunt down the next part of the conversation. The same has been done for Quests, but that's much less significant. Both of these changes were necessary for my own sanity—much like a vampire, I cannot abide disorganization. That being said, I haven't merged these changes into the primary patch, because I have no idea if changing EditorIDs will break scripts. So far, in my own testing, such does not appear to be the case—but I have not finished that testing yet. As you can see, both files are available to download and inspect or experience at your leisure. I've also provided, in .txt form, a sample of the rewrite: Camille's recruitment quest. (That document was created in Notepad++ and reads most easily in the same program, but any text processor should be able to display that file.) I'm going to keep working on the patch, hopefully until it's done, but I make no promises aside from that hope to continue. I'll also probably not post any more incomplete versions here until the whole thing is finished...unless people really want some specific text to be reworked, or really want to see a specific quest worked on which I haven't started yet. I will remain as available as I have been previously for any questions. Thank you. So i can extract the dialogue myself Following up on this, I've finally finished v1 of the dialogue patch, which quickly feature-crept out into a restructuring of the EditorIDs and a LONG document full of bug reports and feedback. The mod's scene scripting seems especially unstable, with lots of dialogue getting skipped, quests jumping to the last stage early to "complete" them, and quests simply failing to progress. If anyone would be willing to test those and confirm, it would be appreciated, because I can only stand so much debugging on my own end. Anyway, to clarify. These two plugins are a patch for Ravenous which rewrites 99% of the text in the mod. It's now cleansed of typos, reads more fluidly and naturally to native English speakers, and I'd like to think it's more erotic overall as well. Ravenous Text Edits is the "lite" version. It just contains the text edits, including dialogue, quest logs, item names, and other small things. It's safe to drop in and check out, then pull back out if you decide you don't like it. It doesn't add anything, it only replaces text. Ravenous Text Edits (Deep) is the full version of the mod. It expands on the text corrections by fixing some bugs, adjusting some quest stages, adding some conditions to dialogue, and most importantly, it renames nearly every single EditorID in the mod so that a user can read through all the dialogue in the mod in narrative order. I recommend using this version for the improved end-user experience, but it may cause issues if you uninstall it mid-save. Inside that zip file, there's also four documents; Changelog: Self-explanatory, listing all of the non-text changes I've made, and giving a general impression of the revised characterization throughout the story. Feedback: For Delzaron specifically. Lists all of the bugs I found and recorded, as well as my best guess as to why they occurred and how they could be fixed. Many of them require examining scripts and double-checking queststages. I considered cracking open the scripts myself multiple times, but ultimately elected not to do so; I've already had difficulty trying to figure out how scripting works, and if I really went down that rabbit hole, this patch wouldn't have released for another six months. Notes: Mostly redundant. These were my personal notes when playtesting the mod and making changes; I'd keep this open and tab out of the game to write something down for later. Potentially incomprehensible, definitely says some unflattering things. Anything important was cleaned up and copied into the Changelog or Feedback documents. Rewrite Sample - Camille: The same document I uploaded in the original post, serving as a "demo" of my narrative changes. If you don't want to reinstall Skyrim or set up these mods, you can have a look through that and get a sense of the tone I presented in the rewrite. I've been working on this for...at least two months? It's not my best work, I could keep tinkering with this and fixing things forever. But I want to move on to other things, at least for a little while, so I'm going to post this and then step back for a bit. I hope you all enjoy it, and I hope the Feedback document is useful for improving Ravenous going forward. Additionally, if anyone has any questions about specific conversations or lines of dialogue, I can load up the game to take screenshots as examples. (I've neglected to do so until now, and all of my screenshots are for debugging purposes, they're unsuitable for promotional material.) I will be maintaining these patches when/if Ravenous updates, though I will almost certainly lag behind a fair bit as other projects take highest priority. But you say Lamiae's quest hasn't started at all? That's a new and weird one. One thing about which I worry, in regards to my patch, is that existing scripts might not be compatible with renamed quests or EditorIDs. While I never had any indication as such, and I wouldn't have posted the patch if I had thought it was going to be a major problem, I don't know enough about how scripts plug into the game to be 100% sure that it's not possible. But, Ravenous by itself has been noted to be uncooperative, which makes it very hard to pin down any technical issues that aren't directly related to the mod. In any case, I very much look forward to any further feedback!

Ink_Ribbon Posted June 7, 2024 Posted June 7, 2024 Alrighty, took a look at the scripts and got the software set up to peel them apart. For Lamiae's quest specifically, I strongly suspect that what's happened is that I standardized her name with the I throughout the override plugin, including in questAliases. Because the scripts DO look at aliases, they're looking for "Lamae" without the I, and the script just fails whenever it doesn't find it. So, if I were to standardize her name throughout the scripts as well, then that script should work as intended again. But, that's fairly deep in. My first order of business is just going to be organizing the filenames and figuring out the chronological order in which the scripts are used. That unfortunately involves changing the filename, the name of the file inside of the script itself, and the hooks into the scripts in the plugin itself. Currently, I've made a copy of Ravenous that I can really rip apart, and an override plugin that loads the alternate scripts I'm recompiling instead. Preliminary work looks good, but I've only just dipped my finger in for today. I'll work more on it tomorrow when I wake up. I don't think this one will take another two months, but, uh, we'll see?

Preliminary work looks good, but I've only just dipped my finger in for today. I'll work more on it tomorrow when I wake up. I don't think this one will take another two months, but, uh, we'll see? May I inquire what software you are referring to? Also with dialogue, be careful as it is not just text, but also trigger conditions and scripts that are attached. It also works differently if the dialogue is in a scene or is attached to an NPC dialogue menu.
coronelwirs Posted June 7, 2024 Posted June 7, 2024 I came up with another idea for the quest, but it is extremely unusual because of its plot. You'll see. I must say right away that the quest will be an addition and is not part of the volunteer work for Carni's restaurant, Let's just say it will become available after passing the Dawnguard dlc, Yes, exactly, that's why it's unusual. Two things prompted me to the idea of this quest, the first is the alpha mod Sanguinaire, The second is that I remember one specific dialogue with the mistress, if you are a vampire. Based on these introductions, here's what should happen. It will be a quest about love. But unusual, now that Dovakin is a vampire, she can return to her mistress and to tell you the good news: Harkon is dead, and all his servants are with him. A dialogue will follow: Player-Hello, Mistress, I have news for you, I remember you said that you knew Harkon, so he fell by my hand. The castle of Volkihar has been cleared. Carni-Were you able to kill him? But how? I remember you as a slave, dreaming of being cooked alive. Player-I have traveled a lot, gained strength, I have not only Akatosh's blood in me, now I am a vampire, supreme, I'm stronger than you now. Carni-Well, apparently now you can destroy me too, is that why you're here? Player-Of course not, I understood a lot, I thought a lot about you, your restaurant, my innermost desires, pleasure and pain. Carni-Go on... Player-What I'm trying to say is that ever since we first met, when I was sent to kill you, when I saw you, you know, I just couldn't strike. Carni-And you couldn't, I controlled your mind, even though it was given to me at the cost of great effort, I have never met mortals with such resistance. But I can't anymore, I haven't been able to for a long time, apparently at the moment when you became a vampire. Player-Then let me clarify my intentions, they are serious, I love you, Mistress Carnificina. If it's not mutual, let it be, just let me be there and please you in every possible way. I will do whatever you command, whatever you want, I want to serve you if you let me. Carni-And you won't try to eliminate me at some point? I can't protect myself now, I can't control your mind. Player-I will prove that I will never do this. Here (passes the scroll) Carni-And what is it? Player-I found this scroll in Harkon's chambers, there is a spell here that will allow you to control even a pure-blooded vampire. It is one, it bears the seal of our ancestor, Molag Bal. With him, you will easily subdue me, as you have done before. The effect is irreversible and I am giving it to you as a sign of endless devotion and love. Carni-Very well, so be it. And I love you too? pet. Player-So you're going to marry your devoted servant? My sword is your sword, Your desires are my desires. My body is your body. Forever. Carni-Yes, you and I will do great things, you will help me gain incredible power, we will not just expand this place, no, we will flood the whole Tampiel with similar restaurants. With the old you, I could not even dream of such a thing, but now I clearly see our future, we will spread the word of Namira everywhere, We will corrupt and seduce everyone who interferes with us. Of course you will seduce, you agree, I see how your eyes lit up. Player-Namira will be proud of us! Carni-That's right, my dear. Further, after the dialogue, the mistress decides that she needs to tell the others about what is coming. When everyone entered, she began to talk about what had happened a few minutes ago, told everyone that from now on her wife would run the restaurant with her. And most importantly, Carnificina says it's time for us to step out of the shadows. However, after she adds that her spouse is still responsible to her personally and the last word is not as it was before. Then everyone had gone about their business, Simza approached the player, dialogue: Simza: I suppose now you can offer me as a dish on the menu? Player: No, we agreed that you will be on the menu only if the VIP client so desires. Simza: Can I offer you to a VIP client? Player: No, I'm more important than you now. Simza: It's a pity, I won't behead you, and then I'll cook you. Player: Maybe someday you will have such an opportunity. After all, we intend to expand, we will need to demonstrate the best that we have. This will fall on my shoulders. Simza: So you're going to be revived by the mistress now, too? And you're going to enjoy Namira until you get back? an endless cycle of pleasure, passion and pain. Player: I can't wait, but about the pleasures later, we have a lot of work to do. Simza: Should I prepare a couple of slaves for the celebration? Player: Yes, but I prepared it from my personal stock. Simza: Then I'll go downstairs and get them, I hope they're tasty. Player: Make no mistake, I've been choosing them for a long time. Simza leaving. That's all for now. Please criticize, suggest, approve, I want to note that this quest does not require any third-party things, everything is within the framework of what has already been created. However, the wedding ceremony itself... No idea, maybe just a text story in a pop-up window. Possible expansion of dialog options. 1

I already had Notepad++ set up and ready to open up .psc files (the uncompiled version of scripts) but I needed to download Skyrim's Creation Kit in order to get the compiler as well, then hook it into the Papryus plugin for N++, so it could do the compiling in-program. The Creation Kit also includes a bunch of scripts for the compiler to use for reference when working, and those needed to be in the right place (inside Skyrim's data folder.) Finally, I needed to figure out N++'s save location for compiled files, and it turns out it uses the location of the uncompiled file as a reference point, and creates a new folder there to drop the script. All of that is annoyingly obtuse to work out if you go in totally blind, but I've got it functioning now. Anyway, this allows me to open up any uncompiled scripts and examine how they work, edit them, and then compile them myself. I strongly suspect that Delzaron has been using the CK's internal script-writing/compiling functions, so it'll be interesting to see if my slightly different method will have any effects on the end result.
MuellerMat Posted June 7, 2024 Posted June 7, 2024 You know I used Notepad++ for years and I am still suprised with the sheer amount of files you can open with it

Leavira Posted June 8, 2024 Posted June 8, 2024 So bit more feedback from testing the Deep Edits: Lamiae's recruitment not starting can be bypassed with setstage on the human resources quest (stage 50 I think it was). Have not been able to see the new conversation post Simza being selected yet as after 8 runs of the VIP normal and 1 of the Impaler, while she was selected for the line up in 2 and 1 respectively she was never chosen, also had a double Simza for one of the normal VIP ones. Was able to force start the new version of the simple slavery quest with setstage but as far as I can tell the hand off from simple slavery is broken as the quest id has been changed and simple slavery was set to hand off to the old one. Did you change Enslaved in a restaurant to run longer as I have done enough tasks that normally the release should have happened but its still going? Still have to test out the selling of followers and Namira day. Overall the text changes are a great improvement to the mod both in readability for English and making the relations between the characters more clear (both the NPC's to each other and the player), adds quite well to the ambiance as well of the mod. 1
MuellerMat Posted June 8, 2024 Posted June 8, 2024 So the slave selection Is completly broke if the player is involved. This only apllis to the spitroast vip quest the other vip quest seems to work fine. This persists even if I disable the textedits so it seems to be a problem with the basemod. Is this broken for anyone else?
