Long Description

Are you a millennia old vampire and tired of living in Harkon's dreg heap of a castle? Are you looking for class and luxury and a place to live your devious, bloody vampire fantasies?
Fortunately Baroness Nora Karlov had to leave Skyrim on urgent business of the realm, and she was kind enough to grant you living rights in Karlov Manor during her absent.

This mod adds a medium size manor to Skyrim. It is kept in a dark fantasy baroque style fitting for a vampire character or similar. The castle is located west of Solitude lighthouse, or accessible via the console ("coc ACCastleEx").
The manor features a large living area with various rooms. In an underground area you'll find thrall dungeons for your bloody needs, as well as crafting areas. Furthermore, this mod adds a gothic church/chapel dedicated to Molag Bal. Besides the mod adds various locations I used in my story blog "Of Blood and Pleasure" accessible via the main hall and a secret area.

In more detail the main manor features:

  • An entrance hall
  • Kitchen
  • Dining/ballroom
  • Master bedroom including bathroom
  • Trophy & weapon room
  • Church dedicated to Molag Bal
  • Various guest rooms
  • Gallery
  • Crypt
  • Basement storage area
  • Crafting areas
  • Prison
  • Attic
  • Atelier
  • A courtyard (Exterior)

High Rock

  • Villa Adraa, a large, Renaissance style villa in it's own worldspace
  • Villa Valek, a medium sized abandoned villa.
  • A Noble house located in High Rock
  • Sanctuary, a destroyed church in the High Rock Worldspace
  • Ruined Cathedral
  • Fallen Shrine & Courtyard

Hammerfell

  • A new Hammerfell worldspace
  • City of Al Mahan

Looks amazing on vids and screenshots!
However i cannot see it for myself since it crashes whenever I get near.

I use mod organiser, so i tried with no mods except live another life and skyui.

It crashes when i try to approach the castle on foot.
It crashes when i try to fast travel to it.
It crashes when i try the coc ACManorKarlov.

Reduced graphics settings to min (just in case that does something): no change.
Sadness.

EDIT:
Tried removing one of the two mods: SKYUI.
I managed to fast travel to the castle this way (that makes no sense at all XD),
but some textures are not loading and it crashes when i try to enter the castle.
Only other mod besides karlov manor active is life another life (testing without that is a bitch due to the cartloading sequence)
Attaching a screenshot of the texture issue in the courtyard.

Sorry to hear that.

Unfortunately I have no idea what could cause that, things are working fine for everybody else, so my best guess is that it must be a problem on your end.

Try one of the smaller cells such as coc ACBPBloodRoom, see if that loads.

Thank you for your reply.

I could coc there, tons of missing textures, followed by crash when trying to leave.

Yeah, since it works for so many other people it has to be something at my end.

Why it will do this on a basically untouched vanilla install I do not know.

I'm very active on a RTS discord server, their tech-support channel, so I know that for a very small minority some things just do not work.

Some rigs and some mods just will not work.

For no sensible reason at all.

Guess I'm that very small minority here. :)

Alas, that's life sometimes I suppose.

Thank you very much for all your hard modding work, i have seen this castle on YT.

If you see missing textures in that room it probably means the mod is not correctly installed or something is really wrong with your ModOrganizer setup.

Great mod update.  You are a very talented person.  The only thing I would like is light music, the silence is a bit disturbing.  The crimson wing is beautiful, tell me, will there be rooms on the first floor in the future?

Thanks!

Not sure about the music, this is a screenshot location and I usually have the game sound turned off so it's not something I pay a lot of attention to.

The crimson wing may receive updates, but so far I have no concrete plans for it.

Thanks again, it's like an orgasm to walk around beautiful locations and explore them))) I wish you inspiration, and future updates, as there is much more to add, I would like a room on the lower level in the crimson wing, it is excellent!!!!!!  !

Amazing mod, noticed two bugs, though.

1. Down in the dungeon area, there is a grate in the floor. If you look at it from the right angle you can see the "infinite blue world" below it as it's missing a tileset in one spot.

2. One of the versions of armchairs has an issue where the sitting position is 90 degrees off. Your character will sit completely sideways in the armchair and have their legs clip through.

Beyond that it's a great house mod. Probably the prettiest one ever made. Thank you.

This mod is absolutely gorgeous!  and it's so well-lit and beautifully done that it allows my unskilled self to pretend like i make good screenshots on purpose.  seriously, karlov manor does like 99% of the heavy lifting when it comes to beautiful screenshots.  Thank you so, so much for making all this!

I'm having an issue. the game runs fine for me, even with enb on, at a smooth 60fps (i have to throttle it because if it goes any faster my game's physics freak out) throughout the whole of karlov manor.  However, when i try to enter a new area - melancholy - the game ctds with no explanation the second I try to go in there.  it's doing this no matter what i activate or deactivate, even with karlov manor loading with no other mods, or loading at the very bottom of the load order so it overwrites everything else.  my rig is pretty powerful, so i'm not sure it's a ctd from my video card choking.  Do you happen to have any inkling of what the issue might be?  thank you in advance! (i'm using the LE version if that matters)

EDIT:  It also crashes when i try to enter ruined cathedral.  Also... I noticed that Ghost reference in the sanctuary room!

I encountered this too. I first noticed the issue when I created a NPC mod that added a dozen NPCs that roam around the main house. In the main social room at the top of the double stairs. There are 5 identical chairs where the NPC sit sideways. Happens to the player too. I am very new to Creation Kit. I found the base ACBaroqueArmChair in CK and could see the marker was sideways. I also found another custom chair with a sideways marker too but dont remember the name. Unfortunately, I couldn't figure out how to fix them.

Don't have time to fully explain since there is a bunch of youtube tutorials on how to use the Creation Kit, but in short you can delete those messed up chairs and replace them with the other models of chairs in the house that function correctly. I'd recommend just clicking the bad chairs and deleting them. Then copying and pasting/moving some of the good chairs to the positions that are now empty.

Thanks for the reply. I did a lot of Googling and could not find an answer. The digging did however lead me to fumbling around in NifScope. I found a node called "BSFurnatureMakerNode". In there were some "Positions" variables that could be edited. I played around with the "Heading" and eventually got it fixed. I changed it from 1.5 to -6.3. Not sure about the odd numbers but... it worked. I also changed the X-Offset to -5 to recenter after the rotation.

Care to post the edited nif? ?

Yes sorry, this is a known problem since version 2.0 that I forgot to fix in the most recent update.

Never seemed it to be that important, but I understand that a lot of people use the mod for more than just screenshots.

Fixed file is attached, just replace the one in meshes\accastle\furn

If you are on SE and have a .bsa just create those folders and place the nif in the newly created ones.

The odd numbers are angles in rad. -6.3 ~ -2*pi = 0 degree that why it works, 1.5 ~ 1/2*pi =90 degree. Though it always depends on how the mesh itself is placed in the nif so 0 degree is not always correct.

Thanks for the response and for the math explanation. However I must admit. Even though I consider myself intelligent. Math is not my strong suit.

Speaking to that. And you probable get asked this a lot. Have you ever considered making a ummm... "Light" version of Karlov Manor? The emphasis on blood and gore kind of locks it in to a specific kind of ghoulish flesh eating genre of vampires. Some may be looking for a more classical look without the mess. Myself, I have just enough skill and knowledge to edit it to my use case. I created a Vampire NPC addon based on a popular movie franchise. I then removed the cobwebs, blood splashes, meat chunks, bones and Daedra worship from the main house. However, I left in the blood filled goblets and wine bottles. It is still a vampire NPC mod after all. Anyway, my point is. Unfortunately most people don't have that ability.

Your creation is one of the most beautiful of it's kind. It really stands above. I know you've stated you created it as sort of a photo studio for the graphic novel your producing. However, it would be extremely attractive to many vanilla Skyrim and vampire fans if they could get sort of a "Light" version that they could live their own stories in. Hopefully the comment/request isn't out of line.

These are some of the best interiors I have ever seem. Amazing work of art.

It is unfortunate that is only for vampires. I was going to give it to my assassin, but there were too many vampire references.

My favorite area was the Noir Estate, the black walls gave it a special touch. I wished it was a separate house.

I've made a screenshot set for the manor, but can't adopt it for the playthrough, due to being restricted to a vampire RP.

There is a bug with the ACBaroqueArmChair, the furniture marker is on top of the chair's arm.
