Attached you will find the documentation for Ivy 5.0.

You can find this same documentation in game, in the NX-2C Controller Holotape.

 

Do not hesitate to ask any questions, should you have them!

 

Ivy's Affinity Quests

- HyperCombat!

Kicks off after speaking with Ivy and Ivy has engaged an enemy in combat more than 20 times.
 

- Into the Deep
Needs a minimum player level of 17. Kicks off several affinity levels after establishing a deeper love relationship with Ivy. (Affinity = 46. PL > 17)

 

- Robotic Assimilation
Kicks off once you reach affinity level 60+ with Ivy and speaking with Ivy.
 

- Ivy Goes to NukaWorld

Kicks off after finishing Into the Deep and Robotic Assimilation, and after NukaWorld has been unlocked (e.g. the NukaWorld radio signal can be found)

 

- Processing Power! (short quest)

Kicks off after Ivy has asked you for a spare secondary backup processor for over 10 times.

 

- Nice Rack!

Kicks off after picking up more than 20 magazines with Ivy in the vicinity.

Introduction

Welcome to Companion Ivy 6.0!

Ivy was created with the greatest of care and dedication.
Over 4 years of development time went into creating a rich and full backstory that fits in the world and in the story line of Fallout. While she may at first glance appear to be a mindless sex puppet, she is far more than that!

 

Her 'mind' was created using real life psychological models, exploring childhood trauma, nihilism, existentialism and other psychological phenomenon. She draws upon a rich history of psychology as taught by Freud, Carl Jung and many other renowned clinical psychologists around the world. But next to that, she is also sexy as hell and delivers powerful lines with a comic punch that will make you smile, smirk, or cry every time she surprises you with a new line of dialogue as you travel the wasteland together.

 

Her psychological profile was created from three distinct personalities, which you as player will come to meet as you travel with her and get to know her better. Each personality fights for its own place within Ivy, making her a unique individual and one that is consistent in the world, based on real life psychological principles.

Always remember when talking to Ivy that she likes to use metaphors!

 

Ivy is a so called 'Prime Companion'.
You could also describe it as a 'Gold' companion.. what does this mean? It basically means she has a shitload of content. Much, much more than regular companions have and perhaps... maybe even the most content of any custom companion for any Bethesda game to date (the jury is still out on that one). At the time of writing all of her dialogue in all of her base mod and add-ons count for nearly 9500 lines of dialogue. But the current base mod has around 7000 lines of dialogue. In comparison, the player character has 12000 lines!

 

This means that she is meant to be used as a SINGLE FOLLOWER and has about as much content as a regular DLC sized add-on as released by Bethesda.

Ivy comes with many special functions, multiple quests (in new locations) and thousands of lines of dialogue, unique for each situation, location and quest. Her radio station offers trailers, music, news and weather reports. She comes with add-ons, DLC and other extras.

 

Consider Ivy to be a game-long quest.

Ivy needs a NEW GAME.

Meaning you, walking out of the vault, and recruiting her directly, to run with you through the game.

She was not designed to be recruited in a later/high level save. It will result losing a lot of content that's important. Her quests and affinity are designed to be built up from the moment you leave the Vault. This is an important distinction between regular followers. Ivy is like a long running quest, not a follower to fill the troupe of other followers with. If that's your thing, Ivy is not for you!

 

- You CAN dismiss her at any time to recruit other followers to get their perks.

- You CAN run with other companions and even use AFT. But you will lose support (see the AFT fact sheet in the spoiler below).

- Installing Ivy will not interfere technically with other custom companions, unless they overwrite vanilla assets and/or vanilla quests.

 

WARNING: Using Ivy with multi follower mods will result in lack of functionality for Ivy.
Ivy allows you to travel with Dogmeat as a secondary companion if you use a suitable mod to enable that functionality.

Hyper Combat Attack Moves

Electric - Ivy teleports to combat target and drops an electric / flash grenade.

Forcepush - Ivy teleports to combat target and uses a concussive grenade, pushing combatants away.

Telefrag - Ivy teleports to combat target and re-emerges inside of them, thereby eviscerating them.

Grenade - Ivy teleports to combat target and drops a random type grenade.

Frenzy - Ivy teleports to combat target and whispers into their ear, making them frenzy.

FreeBird - Ivy does NOT teleport to the combat target. Instead she teleports them 500 meters up into the air so they free fall to their death.

DeathAbove - Dito as FreeBird.

Headpop - Ivy teleports random limbs from the body of the combatant.

Overkill - Ivy becomes panicked. Time slows down and she teleports towards up to 7 different combatants at a time, killing them all through telefrag attacks.

 

AWKR / Keyword mods

- If incompatibilities found, prefer AWKR in your load order (e.g. make sure it's loaded AFTER Ivy)

 

START ME UP / ALTERNATIVE START MODS

- Should work fine with 6.0, but you might miss some of Ivy's content during the initial quests.

 

How will affect her Outcast And Remnants, Project Valkyrie and Depravity?

- Ivy will work well with all of those mods, but you might lose any of her quest related content for quests that are skipped. None of these affect her affinity for you or the outcome of her own storyline. My advice is to 'try the artist vision' with a clean playthrough just with Ivy, then play her and integrate into any mod you'd like.

 

SCANNING

- Ivy sometimes SCANS too often. If it's bothering you, open the console and adjust the SCAN frequency:

 

Open the console, type 'set _ivy_scan_frequency' to 100 (disables her scanning)

Setting it to 0 makes her scan ALWAYS, so don't do that lol.

You can set it to 99 to only make her scan every so often.

Absolutely a fantastic mod/job here, loving it. The question I have and it's not a glitch or bugged since it's scripted. During Stein's Construct, we talk with Deborah and Ivy teleports us out to talk with Stein. After the brief talk with Stein, Ivy takes over the conversation and when she's done, she states she is leaving us both and never to be seen again. The screen goes black and I'm teleported out but yet still in Steins' lab with Stein hostile to me and also Failing the Ivy goes to Nuka World Quest. Ivy is nowhere to be seen. I can't teleport her. her bunker is empty. Is she really gone? Is there a way I can find her again? Where could I have I mess this up? I reloaded an earlier Save and got the same results, I changed dialog options with Stein but there was no change. Please advise:)

How long does it take for IVY to get her first quest? Been running with her awhile now and constantly improving her affinity (and I am over lvl 17) 

 

does lige of followers mod prevent her from getting her quests? as I am using that mod to have darlene, heather, and a vanilla companion along with dogmeat in my party. 

 

she's been commenting and fighting and doing every else just fine though.  also, whats the console command or dialogue option to see what her affinity is at?

First time playing the mod as I had other followers and it's the first time I decided to uninstall AFT.
After playing for some time, I saw something about the "Into the deep" quest so I was looking into it...then I was wondering why it wasn't starting. I found this in the main doc:
 

- Into the Deep
Needs a minimum player level of 17. 
Kicks off several affinity levels after establishing a deeper love relationship with Ivy. (Affinity = 46. PL > 17)

So I'm wondering why it isn't starting? I'm at level 86 and using "GetGlobalValue _Ivy_Affinity" I get a value of 108. She's obsessed with me.

As for "PL > 17" I've no idea what that means or how to check it.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.

 

EDIT: FYI, I've gotten "Nice Rack" already and Companionivy_quest.esp IS enabled.

Disable Companionivy_quest.esp temporarily, load game, ignore warning, save game, re-enable Companionivy_quest.esp. It should start.

*Edit, Spoke too soon. Fast travel or use the disk and get out to do the quest....CTD. I'll have to look into that. :( 

 

**Edit again:
Tried a few times. Also noticed that when removing the quest esp and before re-enabling it, I CTD if I try to fast travel then too. 
Re-enable quest esp and load a prior save, all is good, just no text to start quest. Is there a setstage option to begin this without needing to remove 
Companionivy_quest.esp?
Tried disabling again and not I can't even save with out CTD. Was going to try sqt and getstage but that's not happening. Again, if anyone has the questID, I'd appreciate it.

 

***Edit 3...should have taken note of load order. I'm guessing Vortex just puts it wherever. Constant crashing now even with old saves. Guess I'll start a new game and I'll be back if it happens again  :(

found an ivy bug cant complete the HyperCombat quest stuck in at the find then key part but i have found the key and installed the firmware.

So ivy keeps making the armor stand noise.  (the sewing machine sound) when she's walking around. I've tried sending her away and re-recruiting her. I've tried teleporting her and a hard reset.  Nothin seems to be working. Its not AWFUL, just a bit annoying.

that's a vanilla issue with sandboxing npc's, make them use the affected object again and let the animation play out normally, that usually fixes the stuck sound issue.

Подскажите пожалуйста, а реплики Айви порезали в 6.1? На арене с Кольтером она молчит, в 6.0 вмешивалась в диалог. В диалоге с Вёрджилом тоже молчит.

Hello,

 

First off after being back after being away several years from FO4, I came upon your mod and it is amazing. So just wanted to give a quick shout out to all the hard work you did and to the amazing voice actor who did Ivy. She has incredible talent. I was going to directly msg her with kudos but it seems she has deactivated all her socials sadly. None the less great mod and keep up the amazing work. I was going to suggest it would be fun if you did a colab with the incredible modder who did the Heather C follower. Would be hilarious to put a few lines in there for them to comment on each other. However with the actor on your end apparently MIA that probably isn't feasible. But some kind of interaction with existing lines could still be fun.

Either case thanks again for such a great mod and support and keep up the amazing work! You are a treasure to this mod community. :)

Hello, I am currently doing the Nuka World addon and have reached the Steins Construct map, but the associated quest does not start. I can exit the game, relaunch it and open a save in which the quest does trigger but I get insta-caught by the agents and immediately die.

 

Given the quest's mechanics, could this be an issue on my end with ambient lighting or just a good old load order issue? I've tried putting all of Ivy's plugins at the bottom of the load order but the issue persists.

You go to NW when Ivy asks, not before. If you find the spot where he's hiding and just go in, nothing will trigger the quest. Leave and wait for Ivy to initiate Ivy goes to NukaWorld.

Ah, I should mention that I have already nearly completed the Ivy Goes to Nuka World quest. I do receive the pop up message that says I got teleported to somewhere unknown, and Ivy tells me to turn off my flashlight after Stein administers the sedative.

 

It's when I actually spawn inside the Steins Construct map behind the apparition of Debby. That's where my issue lies - the actual quest itself related to the map doesn't trigger, so I am left to just run freely around the map. I am able to collect the notes but none of the actual quest mechanics like having to hide in the darkness and deactivating the laser turret are working as intended.

 

Is there any known or suspected mod conflicts that could cause this? Just so I can narrow my mod list down to a few potential suspects. Or even some quest ids for using the setstage command.

Just tinkered with my load order and managed to get it to work.

 

Seems uninstalling and reinstalling NAC X prior to being teleported into Steins Construct enabled the quest to finally trigger correctly - I guess massive ambient lighting overhauls from mods like that affect the quest and cause you to be instantly caught like if you were to turn on your flashlight. I also uninstalled STEALTH AND DETECTION SYSTEM 5 by URANIA333 which may also be a culprit mod.

Thanks, Huge fan of Ivy BTW. Especially with Kittenvox as the voice actress. She has become a permanent stay on my mod list

So first off love ivy to death, also still surprises me how in depth she is. have had her on several playthroughs and always bypassed confidence man.  Never knew all this time she can get that quest completed by getting Travos laid. :)

 

This time I saw a patch for Ivy with AFT and have to say so far works fantastic. Only issues I have had with Ivy is with FPE, she gets pregnant and has baby but the baby never grows all the time, but that could be FPE issue as well, just 1 of the few companions this happens too. Also 1 time she was stuck in movement where she looks like trying to move but stays in same spot. Tried few different things but recycleactor worked and no effects.

 

But what I am posting is I tried searching but can her upgraded Hypercombat armor be modified? It shows default but arnor bench doesn't see it and really not fan of the helmet. Unless is now added to config in tape, didn't look but just curious.

Nah the suit is as-is unfortunately, unless someone converts it into a configurable bodyslide file with zaps for the helmet.

I don't like the helmet either but I can't edit models so it is what it is. :D

Fair enough, just wanted to make sure since shows as Default , led me to believe was moddable somehow, but hey you created best companion mod there is, so there is that. :)

 

BTW these mags are the best and she has something for everyone, like kid in cookie jar.  :)

There are 12 different colored suits. Default is the default. The others have their color name added. e.g. HyperCombatSuit (BLUE) etc..

Hi Reginald. 

In my fourth run with Ivy got into this problem. In robotic assimilation, instead of making the fullquest I just stopped searching for Mercy's Diarys and went to do other quests, when I come back to the diarys. I see that Ivy is not commenting after I read them. And in the last one she does not comment, and when I try to talk to her it bugs the replay, so I push talk and then nothing happens (i dont have conversation or dirty talk choices) ... How can I repair her ?  Tried recycleactor or resetai but they donrt work 

In the console the  sqo commando show this last entry 

100 Speak with Ivy DORMANT 

all the other stages of the quest show the COMPLETE tag
