@Juliette Tango: so good you know how to help R-Lo. Difficult to keep your cool when pc-things go wrong.

@R-Lo: I really hope the problems will be over soon. (I would have thrown my desktop out of the window - as if that would help ?

Im really lucky to have Juliette's help! I'm honestly like a babe in the woods with this stuff!

As much as I've felt like screaming and calling it a day it's being overridden by my joy to have a better machine to use than previous,

The agony will be worth it once it's all set up and I can use blender and the game on higher specs,

I'm literally dying to do some recordings for a new video too?

Yes, I'm sure you felt like this ?

Try uninstalling the HP support tool in Control Panel>Programs>Uninstall a program. That should get rid of the pesky notifications.

Sorry I never addressed one of your previous questions: yes, just run the laptop using the Nvidia GPU. The Intel GPU is a low-cost solution to setups that don't include a separate graphics option. You don't need it with the Nvidia GPU.

Whenever the Intel Graphics were running, Nvidia would go to sleep mode. Then whenever the machine would try to switch back, you got the power driver state failure problem. (At least that's my best guess , and when it comes to computers, that's about all we can do I think ?)

Best to you as always and hope to hear good news soon ?

The Sims is a bit out of my element (I edit SL photos pretty frequently) but I enjoyed this one a lot. Might post more in the future and cool to see there's a thread like this :)

It's definitely been a long process and I can't wait to be past it ?

Just about to start up the computer at last, I did wonder if it was OK to remove that as it did feel like bloatware!

It's caused me that error too cos I was fine until that piped up ?

Thanks for clearing that up too as I was unsure if it was overkill to use it on the whole but I'll do that move too,

Really appreciate the help and hope to show something shortly ?

I was hoping the new patch wouldn't break too many things. I wanted to use the latest WW. Jimena and Felicity went out for a romantic dinner on love day and when they were in flagrante delicto some jerk ate their dinners. The still managed a wonderful evening.

I switched over to global settings but still getting that same error every time I start blender,

It seems to work but it's really off putting to see that something is not right ?

Here's a little peek of the progress so far,

still a fair bit to do but gives an idea ?

@R-Lo Sounds like blender is still trying to use the Intel Graphics rather than Nvidia. If you see and can disable the Intel graphics in device manager>display adapter, that would be great. Otherwise, in the Nvidia Control Panel, open 3D settings, and this time go to Program Settings. Find blender.exe in the list of settings and make sure that is also set to use NVidia. Be sure to look on the very bottom and select "Apply". That damn selection button is off screen most of the time. If that still doesn't work, we'll have to try and work through your HP bios. We'll get this sorted, chérie ?

Very sexy video btw!

Once I had someone swipe my couples' dinner right in front of them.  And also another time the spaz waitress fumbled their dinner, and never brought more.  Seems that eating at a restaurant is buggy lately.

I spent 2 hours doing this ?

Glad you like it! ❤️ It's pretty simple so I was kinda nervous about posting it ?

I did check the control panel and the global settings have been set to blender too already

I'll try disable the Intel drivers as I saw where to do that too, hopefully that's going to work ?

The bios stuff looks even scarier so I hope its not too much of a problem to fix ?

I appreciate the help and it's very reassuring ❤️

Finally found this.

Thanks!

I will try this if you recommend it ? I watched and it looks a bit nerve wracking ?

Good news though is that I just found the problem and the error message is gone ??

I tried disable the Intel drivers but nothing changed, drivers upto date etc,

I tried updating the Nvidia driver from here and it did an install,

Now I can enter blender without the annoying pop-up ?

I will try disable it all together if you think it's worth it but currently it seems ok and the power state failure hasn't occurred for a few days now since installing malwarebytes ?

@R-Lo: I really hope that Juliette's solution will help you fix the problem. (so you can make more beautiful things). I keep my fingers crossed for you.

@R-Lo Gosh, R-Lo, if you're currently not having errors or BSOD's, then I'd probably hold off. Bookmark or save that video link, just in case. Can you access that HP Performance Software that he mentions? If so, you might DL and save that as well, but hold off on installing it for now. At least now we know a way to get into your BIOS if we need to in the future. Hopefully ?, things are fine now.

I foolishly tried the new Sims 4 patch yesterday - let's say the result wasn't pretty ?. I got so many LE's it wasn't funny. I restored the previous game folder, but forgot that the patch it dicks ☠️with the user folder as well and makes it incompatible with the old game version. So I had to restore that as well. I haven't played much since then, so I hope it won't continue to throw problems.

Ouch! This Guide may help you, it worked for me.

Thanks, I'll try your method in the future. It's faster to rename folders than copy from a backup, for sure!

Somethings odd here though. Even though I completely wiped and restored both the Game folder and user folders I'm still getting LE's. I may have no choice now but to go with the new version and track down potential offending mods. MC Command Center is updated and Turbodriver just uploaded another new WW today on Patreon. NisaK hasn't updated since Aug. 05 because she thinks her mod is compatible with the patch. The LE's I've been getting seem to mention weather.py and turbolib.py.

Didn't we just go through this last month? At this rate, I spend more time hunting down and re-installing mods than I spend actually playing the game. Thanks MAXIS. ?

This. For the love of God this!!!! ?

Love the new animation. Very smooth!

Mhm... some maybe learn best using autoupdate and lovely mod drama and tragedy - hey you got this fun for freeeee.

And some (I guess with the rl masochist trait) really like to have this every month. But I wouldn´t join that kind of BDSM club (my poor HP potato!!).

@Juliette Tango please have in mind, Eastern Eggs inside your Nisa sims will be new born sims, if you just delete the mod. Some of the Nisa infected sims are really a careless bunch for this unplanned littles. Keep an eye on this!

Sweet! ? I will be able to try get a bit more comfy on here now then ?

I've been stuck feeling like it's unstable and could break anytime but I hope now everything is as it should be at last,

HP support assistant is gone now too so no more of that either ?

I'll try dl and save the other tool just in case,

Thanks for the assist as it would have taken me ages or a reinstall to fix it myself ?

Consoles are so simple and just use straight from the box but this has been a whole new experience

Sorry to hear about that nightmare you have ? I really hope you are able to get it stable soon ?

As much as I look forward to new features I same time wish they would just finalise the game already ?

It's been crazy enough to keep up with the new mods and changes to the rigs and xml etc without the script upgrade nightmares,

I also feel like that's often the case of spending more time in maintaining than actually playing ?

Im really praying that the storm is finally over ??

I've probably messed up in every way possible and hit every snag enough to be updated and troubleshot to the point where its ready to be used at last ?

Thanks and I'm happy you like it! ? It feels a bit tame for now as the poses don't allow for much movement but same time it's been helping to start simple and get used to the new tool ? I replaced my mouse too which is taking some getting used to, its like a frigging spaceship ? didn't look so big in the pics ?
