Yeah, I've been messing around with SLEN a little bit, and it does seem like it's probably the closest thing to what I'm looking for. I guess I was kinda hoping I could find something similar to Wicked Whims in The Sims 4, where I could just select a location, select a nearby partner, select the specific animation I want to play, and bam, the fun starts. With SLEN, it seems like even though I have almost a thousand animations, it only cycles through a pool of 5 or so (that I don't seem to have any control over). I've installed a bunch of animations that use the environment (walls, tables, benches, etc), but I can't figure out how I can select those specifically. And what about non-human NPC's? I still don't have any idea how to initiate animations there.

 

I dunno, maybe Wicked Whims has spoiled me, but I can't help but be a little disappointed in SLEN even though it's probably the best one out there for Skyrim. I'll keep playing around with it though, in case I'm missing something. There are so many talented animators out there and I'd love to be able to use their animations in my game but it I'm just having a hard time finding a simple, straight-forward way to enjoy them.

It sounds a bit like you are looking for SL Tools and match maker.... 

 

you might take a look at Scent of Sex. 

 

Edit: If you have a lot of Animation mods installed and just a few animations are played over and over again, You might also have to check if you are using a mod, that suppresses animations with certain tags. ZAZ and DD have filters, that don't allow aggessive animations and they are enabled by default. DD also limits the animations if devices are worn that would not allow certain anims. If you are wearin a chasity belt, only oral anims are played, if you wear a gag, no oral anims are played... that kind of stuff.

 

Another thing you might have to check is if the anims are registered to SexLab correctly.

You don't do anything with it directly. Every sexlab mod you install uses it - and will not work without it.

It provides all the infrastructure and supporting functions.

From what I understand unlike SL Full the SL Light doesn't send an event when the animation is over so the NPC doesn't know that it is "done". You are running some mix of the two SL but it seems the actual work is still done by SL Light (since the dll of SL full is not working with SkyrimVR). I'm not quite sure what actual benefits you get from running a setup like this. Most SL dependent mods are working with SL LIght anyway and those who are not require framework functionality that you don't have.

I do hope I'm wrong with all of this, but I suspect I'm not. Still would be happy if you give some examples that would prove me wrong.

I don't think there will be a way to solve the player involvement for quite some time yet.

The ideal solution that people are imagining would require some sort of body tracking and an advanced VR body mod. This is becoming somewhat technically possible - PapyrusVR (or SkyrimVR Tools )  are getting more advanced and people can buy a Vive  tracker if they want to. But things like the IK would be  a nightmare to implement.

A first person mod that attaches the camera to the POV of one of the actors in a scene will be impossible to tolerate for large percentage of the users. If somebody wants to test this - play pancake Skyrim with such mod installed with VorpX to see hat happens when you lose control of the camera and the animation starts yanking your head around.

I guess a solution will be to spawn a (headless) clone for the player character and move the camera at where the head is suposed to be (so it is something like POV porn) but in a roomscale game this will not work in acceptable way.

My prefered solution for the moment is to use a follower instead of the player or to have the NPC masturbate instead.

 

All that said, if it is only the player involvement that is the problem with the test build, it would be OK to simply switch scenes with the player to NPC masturbation and release it as an alpha. This will allow all of us to enjoy the benefits of the full SL while waiting for future developments.

Aroused/Aroused Creatures function, which was most of my reason because they were non-functioning with SL Light

SL Animation Loader  and Defeat (mostly) also work, which had SL full as pre-reqs

It is not my intention to be telling you or anybody else what to do, but if there are VR lurkers here reading I want to point out that Aroused works with SL Light, Defeat's basic functionality works with SL Light, SLAL is not needed as all animations are bundled in SL Light. Only for Aroused Creatures I have no idea if it works or not, but I suspect it does if it works in your setup.

Unless you are an adventurous type using SL Light (with the patch for player involvement) is the most secure and easy to debug when problems arise way of running more than 90% of the available SL based mods in VR at the moment. Until we get an official port, whenever this might be. If there are functions of mods that don't work with SL Light we can try to find workaround (like I'm planning to try to patch SL Stories in the next few days).

Just saw that Skyrim SE has a new update lined up on Steam. So what does that mean for us? More fuckery that will require updates from all major mods and SKSE so even more waiting?

 

Edit: You'll have to forgive me if I sound a wee bit pissed off, it's because I am.

Yes, that's what's required.

 

Turn off automatic updates and make a backup of your SkyrimSE.exe just in case. That way you can update when you and the mods are ready.

If it is just a 0kb update, don't worry about it. It shouldn't have any effect on your game whatsoever.
